Meet You in Scotland (2023)
So bad
The first 10 minutes showed promise....until the scene where she spills tomato soup on her top at home, receives a call from her co-worker friend that she she has to be at the airport in two hours and you see her at said airport wearing the same top, stain hidden by a short sweater. We're expected to believe she didn't have time, even just one minute to change her top for a clean one? Too ridiculous. Plus how many times can one person have stuff spilled on them in one day? First the coffee when someone slams a door on her, then the tomato soup? I found her acting okay and I liked the co-worker guy friend. But that was it. I however stopped watching after about 15 mins.
Wong & Winchester (2023)
AWFUL
Rude, obnoxious, dislikeable PI with a kind, likeable assistant. How many times do have to see yet another one of these sitcoms, lacking any imagination. Ridiculous storylines, the overcranky boss who makes everyone around her miserable, so tiresome. I watched the first episode and although there were some mildly funny quips, it was increasingly hard to keep my interest. The one playing Wong, has the perfect face for the role though, she has that permanently angry scowl. I watched the first episode and lost interest 1/2 way through . I'm mystified how it got a 6.8/10 rating, I really am., I guess I'm in the minority on this one.
Street Legal (2019)
Not Great
I had never watched the original Street Legal, so decided to try this new updated one and after 15 mins gave up. I tried to see what the attraction was but I guess I just don't get it.
FBI (2018)
Ugh....
I was so hoping I would like this new show, but nope. I'm not a fan of Missy P. Her character on Rookie Blue was a pain in the a**., all the crying, never happy, negativity, never smiling. But I hoped it would be better on here, but it isn't. She's just not a good actress. Nor is Sela Ward. Wooden acting etc. I'm being generous with the two star rating.
A Bramble House Christmas (2017)
Enjoyable but...
My guilty secret is Hallmark movies at Christmas. Yeah, they're corny etc but some are pretty good. The only drawback is the lack of consistency/directing . For instance in most of them, in a car scene, you'll see the scenery out of one car window is going fast, but the other, barely moving . Or the lead character will be wearing a different coat, scarf, boots in almost every different scene. One I watched recently has the female lead going to a town for one day. She ended up having to stay two days. But she was shown wearing different 7 different coats in different scenes, three different pairs of boots, and a different scarf in every scene. Also the cooking scenes are badly done. The lead character will be taking something hot out of the oven with bare hands. I think the director should pay more attention to detail. In this movie, the woman showed up at the Inn with her son, parks in front and is there all night. But later when the guy showed up and parks, there are no cars in front, not even hers. It's stuff like that, which can get annoying.
Manifest (2018)
I really want to like it but....
First episode was intriguing but the other eps have become kind of flat. I'lll continue to watch just to see how it all unravels and what caused the plane to disappear. Melissa Roxburgh is a lousy actress - the rest of the cast are okay.
All of My Heart: Inn Love (2017)
CUTE BUT TYPICAL PRUDISH HALLMARK
I enjoyed this film, and the two main characters seem to have good onscreen chemistry. The thing I do find laughable about all Hallmark movies is how the characters are of course not allowed to be shown as intimite until they're married. This movie was particularily silly in the fact they own this new B&B ,live in it together, but of course they don't share a bed or even a bedroom. In fact, HIS room gets completely soaked due to a roof leak so he stays at a friend's house, because in typical Hallmark fashion, he can't sleep in the same bedroom as his fiance. It's like this for EVERY Hallmark movie. I doubt the viewing audience would be scandalized if they showed...realistically that yes the couple do sleep together. This is 2018, not the 1800s.
