The King of Staten Island (2020)
Story was very down to Earth
Even though I've barely gone through any of the situations that the characters have gone through I found that I easily related to all of the situations the characters were going through. I also felt that the audience could also easily relate to the characters emotions as well. In my opinion, the movie was very well done. Everybody should definitely give it a watch if they get the chance.
Tom and Jerry (2021)
I knew how this movie would go as the opening credits were rolling
Immediately after seeing the words "Directed by Tim Story" I absolutely 100% positively already knew that this movie was going to be terrible. I don't think Tim Story had actually directed a good movie in his life!!!
Ancient Aliens: Impossible Artifacts (2021)
INCREDIBLY INTERESTING EPISODE!!!
I absolutely loved this episode. They had one extremely interesting piece of evidence after another and also had rather plausible theories to explain what was found. Those theories tried, and succeeding a majority of the time, also contradicts the answer/reasoning that was put forth by the general consensus that most scientists used to explain the artifacts.
The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)
Some moments were really funny. Some moments were not funny at all. So... average I'd say.
Why was this movie riddled with bad reviews when it released? The people who originally reviewed must have incredibly high standards.
It's not the greatest movie ever but you can't expect that haha... but it's DEFINITELY one of those movies where I can just leave on in the background as I'm going about other business in my room. It isn't the hardest plot to follow so I'm sure if you happen to miss 10-15 minutes then it won't be the biggest deal. You'll most likely still be able to follow along quite well.
Young Rock: Working the Gimmick (2021)
Kinda funny
Just a few minutes into the episode there was a joke that got me.
The Rock's father I'd signing autographs and this woman hands him a picture to sign. He looks at the picture rather oddly and says "Is this Carl Weathers?" and just gives the woman the picture back and walks off in disgust. hahaha that was rather funny actually.
Agent Toby Barks (2020)
Seriously?
So this is what they decide to do to end the "Cody Banks" trilogy... they change the lead to a dog and call him "Toby Barks"?... why would anybody put their effort into making a movie like this? I just don't get it.
The Big Bang Theory: The Skank Reflex Analysis (2011)
Rather good opening to Season 5
Like I just mentioned in the subject line, this is a pretty good opening to Season 5. Honestly, there really isn't a single episode of "The Big Bang Theory" that I could think of as being a 'bad' episode. It's a very strong show in that aspect.
In this episode, I rally enjoyed the humorous back and forth conversation(s) between Amy and Penny in each of their apartments.
When this episode first debuted in 2011, I thought the story that was unfolding between Penny and Raj was quite funny. However, as the seasons went on and on and on; the story changed from funny to really weird and rather disturbing when Leonard and Penny eventually wind up getting back together.
If that situation played out exactly the same irl; Leonard and Raj would've gotten into a HUGE fistfight! Also, Leonard would've NEVER gotten back with Penny bc of what happened between her and Raj. Even if both Raj and Penny told Leonard that they did NOT have coitus with each other, I HIGHLY DOUBT that Leonard would've believed them whatsoever! Leonard definitely would've thought that both Raj and Penny were just lying to cover their backs. ALSO, YET ANOTHER REASON for both Raj and Penny to lie to Leonard about what happened is because neither of them wanted to lose Leonard as a friend as a result of their drunken/impulsive actions and behaviors.
At least that's my opinion on the matter lol.
Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
Not nearly as good as the first one...
When the first Ant Man movie was about to be released I did not have much excitement for it at all but then it REALLY surprised me and it's actually a very good movie. I'd give the original a 7.5/10.
So, liking the original one so much, I actually couldn't wait for Ant Man and the Wasp to come out. However, it had the opposite effect on me this time and I was rather disappointed with it. The entire plot seemed like it was just an after thought. They just needed to come up with some reason to have Scott Lang be stuck in the quantum zone by the end of the movie so the "Avengers: Endgame" script would work. Another reason I believe that the plot was nothing but an after thought is that for a majority of the movie, all the characters do is run around with Hank Pym's shrunken lab with all the characters trying to get it for themselves and keep it out of the hands of the bad guys; Ghost and Walter Goggins. By the end of the movie, it totally felt as if nothing had happened at all. It's clearly not a good sign when the best and most talked about scene of your movie is the mid-credits scene where Hope, Hank and Janet all get dusted from Thanos' snap and the effect is that Scott gets trapped in the quantum zone because there's nobody out there to work the controls for him.
I mean, overall, the movie did both things that it needed to do which was 1) provide the audience with a cute little story with very little to no consequence; especially after the previous movie being "Avengers: Infinity War" I believe Marvel thought their audience could use a little break from all the loss and destruction from that movie; and 2) have Scott Lang be stuck inside the quantum zone when the movie finishes.
I really like almost every MCU movie they've put out but this is one of the exceptions. It just felt like this movie had no soul.
Sorry, but I'd give this movie a rating of 4/10. I hope your 3rd outing is MUCH MUCH better then the sequel... one can only hope right?
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
Overall it's a REALLY good watch
Your going to be impressed by the actors you know of bc you've seen them do great works in a million other movies but I was actually rather impressed by this kid Alex Sharp because I've legitimately never heard of him before watching this and haven't seen him in anything since watching this. I'm NOT saying he does the best acting in the movie (that would either be Redmayne, Baron Cohen, or Keaton) but since I've never heard of the kid before, I was expecting rather a beginner's level of acting but I really think he kept up with the heavyweights he was acting alongside.
Titans (2018)
Season 1
Season 1 had some good character moments and a few good fight scenes (as far apart as they might be though). The season ends on a cliffhanger which really disappointed me at first but after thinking about it for a minute or two it just got me more excited for the next season. Season 2 seems like it will introduce new characters, further develop established characters, and obviously finish off the "BIG BAD" of Season 1 and introduce a new "BIG BAD" for the season since I highly doubt that Trigon will continue to be the main threat for the Titans and since I'm watching this on HBO Max; Season 2 starts right... about... NOW!
WandaVision (2021)
Not really a review just a random comment...
I seriously can't believe Vision caught the piece of fruit falling off the table and actually said "I can't wait to be a proud 'papa-ya' "
I really like the show so far but if they're trying for "cringe-esque" comedy with lines like that... then they've definitely succeeded lol
..."proud papa-ya" while catching a papaya falling off the table; WOW... just WOW! I legit wonder if the writers just thought of jokes that they would've used from back in the time period they're "currently in" on the show (which is probably the late 50's or early 60's) or if they just used the weirdest or cringiest joke they could think of? At least not ALL of the humor is that bad. The show does truly have some clever and funny jokes in it too. I just wanted to point out the "proud papa-ya" joke bc that one just hit me in ALL the wrong ways haha
Joker (2019)
I love movies that leave the interpretation up to the viewer
Yes, this movie in intentionally ambiguous so of somebody has a different interpretation as you it doesn't make either of you wrong.
Also, I don't get why people are criticizing the movie saying "it's just copying 'Taxi Driver' and 'King of Comedy'!" Uhhh, so what? The movie turned out amazing and if other comic book movies take inspiration from classic movies to make a modern day classic movie then I'm all for it.
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)
Can't get enough of those "damn dirty apes"!!!
In all 3 movies of the trilogy (Rise, Dawn and War) I'm in constant amazement of how lifelike all the apes, gorillas and orangutans look. Sometimes I was so distracted by how great they looked that I forgot to read the subtitles to know what all of them (except Caesar who can talk) were actually saying. Believe it or not, you could figure out what they're saying just by their body language which is another incredibly impressive task done by the actors behind the CGI; as well af the animators too.
However, I just didn't find the story as good as "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes".
Not like he needs another compliment bc literally everybody has already said he'd done an amazing job in these 3 movies but I just have to say it myself... Andy Serkis did an AMAZING job portraying Caesar in the trilogy. He might have even deserved an Oscar for his commitment to his performance. Sometimes you'll legitimately forget that your NOT watching real apes on your screen. I know I'm guilty of that a few times too lol.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Not as good as the first but still very enjoyable
Yeah, I said what I had to say in the subject line. I have a question about this movie. After the Guardians ship crash lands on Berhart, (prob spelling that wrong) Quill and Gamora have a private talk with one another where Gamora brings up the David Hasselhoff story that Quill told her someone before when he was drunk. The two were by themselves with nobody around at all. HOWEVER, later on in the movie when Quill realizes that Ego killed his Mother and knows what Ego's plan is, he attacks Ego. When Ego recovers, he changes his "human form" to David Hasselhoff. How the hell did he know to change himself to look like the Hoff!?!?!? This means that he somehow heard the private conversation between Quill and Gamora or just blindly guessed; and I HIGHLY DOUBT that Ego just guessed that. It's a small nit-pick but it does kinda bother me lol. Btw, does anybody have an explanation for this???
Also, when Quill, Gamora and Drax are about to go with Ego and Mantis to his planet (aka himself? lol) Rocket is seen spraying the wreckage of the ship with this gun looking thing and the all the wires and metal are just randomly reappearing! Rocket is creating matter out of NOTHING! WTF is that!?!?!? That's insane! Am I the ONLY one fascinated with this???... and the fact that he only uses it the one time and for nothing else is a waste. Can it just repair machinery that wad already there or can he just make any kind of machinery just randomly show up or off thin air??? I believe that even Tony Stark and Dr. Strange would be impressed with that technology/magic! Would that be considered tech or would that be magic? lol... idk but either way it's an impressive gadget that we see Rocket using for only a handful of seconds and then it disappears FOREVER! lol
