Red Notice (2021)
True lies but worse
Same formula...the rock or arnold...same character...same story...gal Godot is pretty but that's where it ends. Every ridiculous moment she happens to show up and be right there with them...stupid, predictable and played. Oh and they found a car that was stored for 80 years that happened to start right up. Can we make a movie with an original idea for ince?
Good on Paper (2021)
Iliza I liked...that's it.
This was a little too much true story and not enough story. It was boring...the stand-up parts weren't her best and it was just too boring of a story. My wife LOVES her and she struggled, but reluctantly (just because she didn't like agreeing with me) said..."I..liked it" That's not a great review for how much she loves her.
The I-Land (2019)
When does the fun ever START?
Oh man, my wife and i started to watch this on "Netflix's reccomendation". Well, Netflix better work on its algorthms. The characters, the opening scene. I felt like i was watching the down time on the set during filming. No personalities...awful story telling. We couldn't hang. These people apparently didn't know their names...or anything, and they just started setting up camp with the attitude like they were starting "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here". I think my reactions would be a TAD different. Goodbye...I don't see this lasting very long.
Standup and Away! with Brian Regan (2018)
Material too old
I used to LOVE Brian. When i found him like 15 years ago, i thought he was a genius comic. His physical comedy augments his material PERFECTLY. I love that he works clean. I had gone to see Brian 5 or 6 times live in the northeast area over the years and as each visit happened, i noticed something that was clear. He was relying on decades old material on each successive event. And this was over a period of 10 years. He of course has people shout out from the audience to do these old bits, but i don't understand that. I almost thought it was plants in the audience to do it...even when they DONT shout out requests, he still does bits that he's done from the early 90's; a LOT. I ALWAYS give material he puts out a good shake. This show included. But unfortunately, it's been the same. To get me back, he needs to do a lot more recent material. That's my take.
