A War Film Like No Other
22 April 2022
I discovered this film while googling most disturbing movies and I have to say, this came highly recommended on every list despite my never hearing of it. I would put this at the top of best films depicting war that I have ever seen, along with grave of the fireflies. Everyone needs to see this film. What an incredible story, one that many young men would have lived during that time. Highly highly recommend.

Pays True Homage

As a fan of the original movie I was really impressed by this sequel. It paid homage to the original through a variety of wonderful ways and the cast was perfect. The last scene in particular was very memorable and moving. I can't fault the film. It has an important message behind the horror facade as well relating to racism in America. I hope the rating improves as it's well deserved.

Should be mandatory viewing.

As an Australian I am disgraced and disgusted in my government. I have always advocated for better treatment of refugees and acceptance of asylum seekers but majority of Australians want to bury their heads in the sand and listen instead to our money hungry, corrupt government. When will we wake up?

Excellent show.

Decided to write a review as this show needs more people to see it and rate it. I enjoyed it immensely and admired the moral questions raised throughout the series. It really delved into the good and bad sides of a society where science and religion are rivals, indeed similar to our current society. I wish more people watched subtitled series!

The Bridge (2011–2018)

Incredible, extraordinary, wonderful!

Just started season 4 and while I know all good things must come to an end, I wish it wasn't so. I haven't felt like this about a TV series since Six Feet Under. The characters are intriguing, realistic and complex, especially Saga, who I grew to feel more and more for. The writers of this show have done an exceptional job and I'll be sad to see it end. Everyone should see The Bridge. It's a shame not many people I come across will tolerate subtitles. They're missing out!
