The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp: The Vultures (1957)
Fantastic 50's Western TV
IMNTHO there is no better "50's" Western TV show than "The Life & Legend of Wyatt Earp". The first episode was released the day before the first episode of"'Bonanza". It's 5 year run with it's larger than life star Hugh O'Brien had all the trappings of every Western TV show then, but it had Hugh and some of the best script writing of any TV show of it's time. O'Brien's obedience to the man "Wyatt Earp's" 'code of justice' made it even more interesting as the lies about the 'Old West' continued. In the show Wyatt drinks milk, never whiskey. He never kills anyone, only 'creases' them ( mostly skull creases). Bottom Line - Hugh O'Brien is the KING here, this show is a masterpiece of 1950s Western TV script writing, they were absolute geniuses. It's beautiful.
The Outsider (2018)
Original story
I enjoyed this movie mostly because of it's original storyline. It's worth the watch. Not a huge Leto fan, but I liked him in this movie. The Japanese actors are all really good.
Tactical Force (2011)
Entertaining for what it is
It's a partial Stargate cast reunion! Lexa Doig and Michael Shanks are throughout playing opposite sides of the law. Shanks as a bad guy has the worst fake Russian accent ever filmed. The one more Stargate alumni is Steve Bacic who plays Blanco - a SWAT team member. He played a Goa'uld on SG. The SWAT team's Chief was the classic older black gentleman with a linguistic gift of absolute hilarity. He is their Chief of Police like Beverly Hills Cop. Cursing them up and down and and making me laugh so hard I had to rewind that part. I saw some ridiculously long review here of this guy over analyzing this movie as he explains why he gave it a 1. If you go into this movie expecting some kind of historical cinematic piece of art don't bother watching. If you want to kill 1.5 hours watching a decent action movie than watch it. I scored it a little higher than normal because of Lexa Doig and Shanks. Without them it's a 6.
Strange Events (2014)
What did I just watch?
This has to be one of the most schizophrenic, going nowhere movie's I have seen in quite some time. The only suggestion I would give for this movie to someone reading this - watch something else. Seriously. If I can save just 1 person 77 minutes of their life it will be worth the five minutes it took to write this. You see I was robbed of those 77 minutes and I will never get it back. How this movie registers above a 2.9 here is paranormal in itself.
Secrets of Archaeology (2003)
Fantastic History Program
I watch a lot of historical documentaries and this series may very well be the best one I have seen. The program takes you to lesser known, but not of lesser importance, archaeological sites all over the planet. Many cities I only heard of but never was able to see the ruins are all through this documentary. The narrator is fantastic and because he is the only one speaking the show stacks in more information than you would normally see in a documentary. The bottom line here is the producers of this show have the best formula for presenting this type of programming. If you love history and especially historical architecture you will thoroughly enjoy this program.
Westworld (2016)
I see where this is going...
Yet again the Hollywood leftists throw their subtle leftist wants of how they think the world should be instead of the reality. 2 ladies of color are the smartest one's with the truest motives of all. One a high powered decision maker in a massive corporation, the other a perpetual victim. Both believable but overly obvious as to why they exist. The evil overlord old white man is just about as close to diablo as you can get. Heartless and cruel Hopkins uses his African American robot slave to murder his enemies, the robot shows more anguish over his murderous behavior than the flesh & blood old white man. Great acting all through this show by the whole cast is why it even gets a 5. Zero for the story as I quit watching the show after episode 8 as once again leftists ruined it like they ruin everything else they touch. Not just for the leftist nonsense, but this show has so many subplots it goes a bit overboard.
Colony (2016)
Kids again?
The very first episode first scene - what do we have as main players & subsequent plot devices? Children. More uninteresting kids involved in yet another lefty Hollywood series. I got through 5 minutes of the 1st episode and found myself more annoyed than anything else. That was more than enough for me to figure out this is more wasted time than usual watching mindless drivel.
Stargate SG-1 (1997)
Best Sci-Fi show ever
I love this show and watch the reruns all the time. It has better plot lines and stories than the Star Trek series - all of them. Although Enterprise had some good story lines in it. It's very original and I love the way they use Ancient Egypt as a plot device. It never gets old.
Lost in Space (2018)
Reboot boredom
I have yet to figure out why in the past few years so many children are acting in adult shows. I don't want to see them, especially as much as they build stories around them & have them acting about 10 years older than they actually are. Then add to that the adults being submissive to the kids wants & taking them entirely too seriously bending to a child's will. I know this show has the 2 kids as original characters and they are just as annoying and boring as the original show. It's gotten to the point where there are no original shows for just adults anymore. I couldn't get through 10 minutes of this hogwash before having deja vu all over again, it was unmitigated boredom. It took all my powers of concentration to finish the episode. The liberal idiot idea of inclusiveness is ruining society in all types of ways & you can add entertainment to that overly long list. This never ending pursuit of having kids in every show on TV has made many shows completely unwatchable for me. Add this one to the list.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Good Premise, Great effects, Terrible acting
This movie is completely out of left field. It's very original. One of the more original movies to come out of Hollywood since "Jupiter Ascending". The main problem is I hated the 2 main characters as soon as they started to speak. This Dehaan guy picked the wrong field to work in, he's an absolutely terrible actor. The world needs ditch diggers too. And this Delevingne chick's idea of an interstellar female cop is straight out of a bad comic book. This has to be one of the best looking movies with really bad actors I have ever seen. Watch it for the effects but don't expect anything in the acting skill department. As a a matter of fact I found myself wanting bad stuff to happen to both of the main characters just because they were so lame & annoying. All 5 stars are for the look of the movie - that's all that's worth seeing here.
