Almost Genius (2015)
One of the worst shows I've ever seen!
Almost genius is another one of those Trutv shows that looks like it easily could of come off of YouTube. And just like those shows Almost Genius is really dumb and unfunny. Basically the show is either just showing a clip you could've just easily found on the internet or they might even mess with the clip using basic editing and a lack of wit. It's basically if =3 got $15 added to the shows budget. It's mediocre at best and cringe worthy at worst. It truly is one of the worst shows ever. But don't just don't take my word for it, if you're really curious just watch the show for yourself. I must warn you though, it will rot your brain!
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015)
A true masterpiece!
Before I get this started, this review contains spoilers so, if you have not yet seen this soon to be cult classic then read with caution. So yeah, this movie is awesome. As someone who has read the book I can confirm that this is much better than book. Not that the book wasn't also good because it was. It managed to fix all the problems I had with the book and more. So why am I praising this movie so much? There are plenty of reasons. So let's start with how perfectly cast this movie is. You don't even to read the book to see how perfect this actors are for these roles. Not only that but the performances are absolutely fantastic. They are extremely believable and convincing. They are all great but, Olivia cooks performance is easily the greatest. Just look at the scene where she is dying and she is able to convey so much emotion just using her eyes. Anybody can just scream and cry out of joy but what she was able to convey just with a gaze is amazing. This movie is very funny and also very dramatic and this film does both equally good. This movie also is beautifully scripted. Every scene makes sense and works in multiple ways. They flow right into each other. The cinematography is a very underrated thing about this movie. It's really great and very clever at times. The soundtrack is fantastic as well. All the songs perfectly match the scenes their accommodated with. Really makes you wonder why beautiful Brian Eno songs haven't been used in many other films. The fact that is masterpiece has less than an 8 on this website really ticks me off. Now that I think about it about it, there are a ton of great movies that have a less than a an 8 on this website. That is all.
Big Hero 6 (2014)
The absolute definition of average
This movie has to be a prime example of of an average film. I have been forced to watch this movie about 3 or 4 times and can't see why people love this so much. Not even the majority of professional critics can see the why I dislike this film. Anyways, I'm going to go ahead and say that this film had wasted potential. An abundance of Morden day superhero flicks have been the exact same movie just with a differences and Big hero 6 had the chance to be unique but, it's the same thing we have been getting just with animation. Not only is the plot all too familiar however, the its also boring and predictable. I don't have problems with movies being predictable as long as it's entertaining but, like I said it's boring. The villain also sucks complete with a generic personality, generic motivation and a nonsensical plan (see hishe version of big hero 6 to see what I mean). Beside the kid named hiro the rest of the members of the team are cookie cutter cutouts. You got the tough girl, the geeky chick, the loser stoner guy and, the black guy who is just there for the sake of having an African American character ( without actually giving them a interesting personality). They serve Meryl as weak comic relief and aren't that interesting. I will give credit where credit is due, the animation is good though I have seen better making average. The comedy revolved around Baymax is pretty funny though it doesn't always make sense like how is somehow able to pull a lollipop out of thin dust. Overall Big Hero 6 is an average movie. In my opinion at least, if you like it then that's great.
Full House (1987)
Awful jokes, bland characters, cheesy dialogue and yet, people like this!
I will start off by saying this: if you like full house then, good for you. I myself happen to very much dislike this show. So what's so bad about this show you may ask yourself? Well let's start off with the lame and dated jokes that are here. I don't need to give any examples just watch the show yourself. Not only that but this show fails at something every "great" show needs: inserting characters. They're all so bland and just boring. So with a sitcom with unfunny jokes and uninteresting characters at the very least they could put in some intriguing situations right? Nope, instead sources of conflict include very mundane events. There is nothing "special" about this show. In my opinion at least like I previously stated "if you like full house good for you" it's just not my kind of show know what I'm saying dawg? I would like to make a comparison for a second, Seinfeld and Full house. In Seinfeld there was also a lot of mundane situations however, unlike full house though, it had funny jokes and likable characters. So in a way full house is like an inferior version of Seinfeld. Sorry if I came across as pretentious in this little review,it's just I really don't like full house.
Cool Cat Saves the Kids (2015)
Deeper than most people's comprehension!
I will start out this review by saying that this work of art unfortunately has many 1 star reviews. This either by jabronies who think it's funny to give masterpieces a single star while they give absolute turds like citizen Kane 10 stars and people who simply can't comprehend this movies brilliance! On the surface this film might appear to be a extremely poor made, acted, edited and over all poorly put together movie however, if you look deeper y'all might see a deeeper meaning. This movie isn't about bullying, it's really about a a grown man who is living his live in denial. "Cool Cat" as he is referred to in the movie is actually a grown man who's been living in denial ever since his mother died for unknown reasons. He also happens to be a furry who constantly stays in costume and in character and is only out of attire when he is switching into mama cat form. WHAT A TWIST!!! Any who his farther ( who pitys him) plays along because he knows his son is too far gone to fix. Heck, the whole neighborhood plays along with him and makes staged situations where he turns out a hero. Now some of jew might be axeing " butt what bout dem Hollywood scene?" I reply with it shows how deep down inside "Cool Cat" is still a child who loves attention. It's deep cuz it shows that our main character is flawed. That is all
