Under the Bridge (2024)
Why the hate
Anyone who thinks this is a bad series I'd really like to know what you're watching that's so good. This show is riveting and utterly sad (because it happened).
It's as good as Fargo. Not as wacked out as a series like You (Netflix series) which is so over the top ridiculous
Kids like this actually exist, which is what's so tragic. Kids who are wannabe gangsters/mafia. Try so hard to be something they are not and struggle to find their place in a world that forgot about them and tossed them out like trash.
This is a good show and deserves a viewing and high praise.
The only negative is I do not like when streaming services break up the binge, I thought the days of waiting to watch a show were over with commercial TV. But they stretch it out so you keep your subscription through an entire series. This one is well worth it.
You People (2023)
Cheap jokes with awky laughs
Let me open with I am a Jewish man dating a black female, so I was all-in on this one!
They went cheap on the jokes. Typical stereotypes that we've all heard 1000 times before. Definitely didn't need to break out Eddie Murphy for this one, he didn't get a single laugh. Actually found him to be more annoying than anything. His part could have been played by anyone and it would've had the same effect.
The real problem was there was no chemistry between the Jonah and Lauren, so it was tough to get emotionally invested on this one. You want to hope the couple survives the family issues in the end, but i actually found myself not caring or thinking it would actually be better if they did part ways.
I wish for a redo on this one, focus on the love of between the couple and less about all the hate. The trailer leads you to believe this movie is funny, but it really is just plain disrespectful and awky.
Nope (2022)
Similar to m night shyamalan, every movie just gets worse
Jordan Peele reminids me a lot of m night shyamalan, where he started strong and just ended up sucking by making unwatchable movies.
Jordan started strong with Get Out, dipped with Us, and now this garbage. Maybe the worst movie I sat through. Main character barely speaks a word, the sister was annoying, the "space ship" or whatever it was was not the least bit scary.
Then throw in a side story about a crazy killer monkey from a kids TV show back in the day and it is all one big confusing messy movie.
Extemely boring, made zero sense and definitely the last Jordan Peele movie I see.
The Lost City (2022)
Forced jokes and forced chemistry
Not that I was expecting an Oscar winner, but these 2 had zero on screen chemistry. The jokes and the romance were so forced. This was a hallmark channel movie at best. Not right for the big screen.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Slow. Boring.
You watch this woman go to her job, then her other job. Very little dialog. Very slow moving and extremely boring. No idea what happened here. How this movie was made is beyond me.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Hit'em with the Hein!!!!
I was born in 1972, so The Karate Kid was a staple of my youth. Seeing Ralph Macchio in any movie where he wasn't doing karate (My Cousin Vinnie, Beer League, etc) isn't natural.
This series is 10000 times better than those embarrassing films.
William Zabka is amazing. Seriously, where has he been? Some of the best acting I've seen.
Totally hooked. Great series.
