The Empty Man (2020)
Sleeper Hit
Due to bizarre marketing for this film it seemed like every other "Ghost dude kills teens in 90 minutes" movie, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
With masterful editing and butt clenching camera work, David Prior has made one of the best horror films of the past few years.
Don't look up anything about it, just watch the movie and prepare to have a great time!
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
One of the Better Sci Fi Shows of Decade
Long time Trekker here, I legitimately don't understand the hate this show gets. Just finished the first season and each episode is riveting. The makeup is astonishing on Doug Jones who is a pleasure as always. The Klingons for the first time actually look and sound not only legitimately hostile, but actually alien.
Great cast, interesting story with twists and turns. Top notch animation for a tv show, and a quality entry into Star Trek.
Irresistible (2020)
An Inside Look From the Outside
This film came out just when it needed to. An unbiased look at American politics and how BOTH parties take advantage of the very people they're supposed to help.
Top notch actors playing characters you will love and then those you love to hate. Easily could have been another run of the mill take on a story we'll all seen before, but thanks to Jon Stewart we got something refreshing that also manages to subvert your expectations.
Definitely worth a watch. 7/10
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Rian Johnson gave this franchise the kick it needed
This movie did not play it safe like Force Awakens and it does not care what you think a Star Wars movie should be, and thank goodness for that.
Rian Johnson is one of the best working directors today and understood exactly what Star Wars is better than any of us. With all the camp and weirdness and epic space battles that has been in the franchise since day one, he continued that on with The Last Jedi.
We finally have the most interesting characters put on screen, put in increasingly difficult situations and making the most interesting moral decisions. This is the best Star Wars has ever been, and people can't stop whining.
Control (2019)
Beautifully Spooky in all the right ways
Ever since this game was announced over a year ago I've been waiting to get my hands on it, and it did not disappoint.
Impossible architecture combines with mind bending physics and amazing powers as you traverse The Oldest House, a mysterious building that you won't find unless it wants to be found.
This game delivers on every front, Remedy has done it once again.
Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
Transcendency
About once in a generation does a film of this superiority come into existence. Never before have I seen a film that drew me into it's world so immensely and completely. Everything from the lighting, sets, sound design, cinematography, music and more was perfect.
People nowadays are so used to having movies spoon fed to them they forget what it's like to actually experience a film and not just watch it.
Every time the credits role I find myself wishing to explore the world of Blade Runner more. It is my hope this film will show people just how powerful a movie can be, and inspire even more to make movies of this quality.
