Agent Game (2022)
Awful
I was shocked at how bad this movie was. It was dark making it difficult to see what was going on at times. The acting and poor editing were just some of the things that made this movie awful. The action scenes were not well choreographed and besides, there was just two of them in the entire movie - one in the first 15 minutes and another in the last 15 minutes. The hour in between these action scenes was a drag, just stretched out dialougues. By the time you get to the end of the movie, you are already tired of the movie. To top it all off, the movie did not have an ending. The ending was literally a cliffhanger. Even if you are trying to set up a sequel, that is not how to do it.
Chicago P.D.: Still Water (2022)
Very different episode
This episode had a slower tempo than others and really focused on detective Upton as a fierce character. Tracy does a wonderful job of allowing the viewers to feel the emotions her character is feeling through her facial expressions. Great camera shots, writing and acting.
Mayor of Kingstown: The Devil Is Us (2021)
Layered Characters!!
The beauty of this episode is that we get to learn a bit more about some of the main characters on the show particularly Mike(Renner) & Iris(Liard). The pace of the entire episode is just right. The writing, the score, the acting, the cinematography - everything is near perfect. This episode will definitely go down as one of the best on the show.
24: Day 4: 2:00 a.m.-3:00 a.m. (2005)
Chills....... Literal chills
The end of the episode is what gets me. Deciding whether to save the life of the person that saved your life a couple hours ago or, to save the life of someone that could give you information that could save millions of people; this is the position Jack finds himself in. Wonderful acting from Kiefer(Jack) and Kim(Audrey). This is one of the best episodes of the entire show. 24 is about Jack finding himself in situations where decisions he has to take while the clock runs out, end up having dire consequences. This episode highlights probably some of THE MOST pivotal decisions he had to make over the span of the whole series where the consequences cost him so much, it almost broke him.
Chase (2010)
Entertaining but Annie is isn't
I just started this show yesterday and to be honest, I was surprised it was cancelled as there are worse shows on tv than this. Overall, if you're into action, the show is okay to watch. If you are expecting action with a good storyline, this isn't the show. None of the main characters are likeable especially the lead character. The problem is that her character was written to be the all-knowing, tough, fearless, cop. However, this is done to a fault because they make her so unrealistically all-knowing, tough, and fearless. I don't mind watching shows that are unrealistic but some of the things in this show just stretches reality. The supporting characters are bad too. They literally add nothing to the show. There's no backstory to any character of the show asides the main character. Most of all, the show isn't gritty enough to be classified as a serious show and it isn't funny enough to be classified as a light-hearted show. It's just there.
A Discovery of Witches (2018)
More sophisticated than your usual vampire shows
The pacing is alright in the sense that the way the world and the characters that are in it are introduced to you doesn't feel rushed. Mathew Goode's and Teresa Palmer's chemistry & acting is really good. 10/10 for cinematography. storytelling is well crafted in the dialogues between the characters, it really catches your interest. I gave it a 7 because I'm not a big fan of Vampire/witches movies/tv shows however, as a fan of historical Sci-fi fantasy, I very much like this as it can be a good show to watch when you're trying to unwind after a long day.
The Old Guard (2020)
Really good for movie night
My major problem with this movie was the music. A lot of the time, the music didn't fit the scene. Other than this, this is a really entertaining movie for a movie night with friends. It's action packed and to be fair, the storyline and it's concept is not bad at all, the acting is okay and the action scenes are well choreographed. However, if you're looking for intelligent dialogue and a movie that'll pick your mind, this isn't the one.
Sons of Anarchy (2008)
Choices & Consequences
I think there's something about a show that pulls you into a world where life in said world is all about (choices whether right or wrong) & consequences. SOA is a compelling story about a man who is trying to do right by his family while also trying to do right by the outlaw biker gang he belongs to. The writing, acting, directing e.t.c. are all bloody fantastic. It's action packed with a lot violence that at least makes up for some of the dull moments. The storytelling and the message behind the stories of the main characters is so real and captivating, you might probably cry by the time you finish the show. The best show ever made IMO. An addictive show filled with wonderful actors, definitely binge-worthy.
Blood & Water (2020)
Deserves a higher rating
Okay, if you remove the soap opera element from this show, (which btw I believe just stretches the show out) Blood & water is a well-shot drama that follows the compelling story of a teenage girl in search of her lost sister. A pretty predictable story nonetheless, the high production value and beautiful cinematography make the show quite bearable to watch. I didn't think I would get hooked but I did. Just six episodes you could binge-watch with friends while trying to relax.
Extraction (2020)
An action packed movie
The action scenes are great. The storyline is very predictable from start to finish. No real dialogue in the movie but then again the action scenes were great. If you love action movies, you have come to the right place. Overall, this is a great movie for you to relax, watch, and enjoy. Chris's acting is quite good btw.
La casa de papel (2017)
Soap Opera or Crime Drama
Seasons 1 & 2 are not as bad as seasons 3 & 4. It's like a bunch of college kids decided to pull off a heist with their professor who apparently, is so intimidating with his flawless plan, that the police just give into all his demands. None of the criminals look convincing at all. Everyone in the show is just falling in love. There are some twists and turns in seasons 1 & 2 that don't make the show unbearable to watch but seasons 3 & 4 is a joke. Overall, it would make for a good soap opera but definitely not a good crime drama.
S.W.A.T. (2017)
Cool, if you ignore the political shenanigans
Very unrealistic scenarios however, it's not unbearable to watch. Action scenes are actually kinda cool so if you're into action, you might like it. The acting isn't very good but again, it's not unbearable. Overall, I watch the show to pass time/relax.
Treadstone (2019)
Actually not that bad
The writing is not that bad as some reviews here suggest. The acting however is not that good. It's really average in some scenes and decent in others. However, the show is entertaining in that it's action packed, and the production is actually really good. If you're into action, if you're patient, and if you're not that critical of tv shows as a person, you could enjoy this one. Would recommend for a good binge watch.
The Irishman (2019)
Brilliant movie
Intelligent dialogue, well written, well paced and well acted. The Irishman is one of those movies that resonates with you even after the credits roll. The movie is long however, it's a good movie if you like watching movies with intelligent dialogue and script
The Witcher (2019)
Honest Review
Henry Cavill is the Witcher. The plot jumping was very annoying, it made it very difficult to follow the storyline. Other than this, the show is good. High production value, good dialogue between characters, decent writing (even though it could have been better) but above all, Henry's performance as the Witcher is really really good.
6 Underground (2019)
Cliche Action movie
Action scenes were okay, storyline was cliche, acting was okay, dialogue between characters was quite bad especially the humour. In a nutshell, it's a very average but action packed movie hence why I gave it a 7 cos there's a lot of stuff that got blown up.
Bosch (2014)
BOSCH is Fantastic!!
A hidden gem. One of the best detective shows on TV. The main cast is superb. The pace of the show is just right. Even though you might feel it's slow at times, it doesn't take away anything from the show at all. The storyline kinda makes sense, the dialogues between characters are also very intelligent. If you're into cop shows, you most definitely will like this.
The King (2019)
Impressed.
The set, the writing, the script - all brilliant. The movie is kind of slow. However, the acting is really captivating. I was really impressed.
Jack Ryan (2018)
I just finished season 2
Season 1 was easily an 8/10. Season 2 is prolly a 6/10. Only reason it's getting a 6 is cos the action scenes were really good. However, Jack Ryan seems more like Jack Bauer in this season 2 and I'm not sure I particularly dig that given his an analyst.
Watchmen (2019)
Still on the 1st episode
High production, good actors ...... the show looks really good. However, this Pilot episode was boring. There might be a 'woke' agenda brewing. Not yet sure what the writers are trying to achieve but then again, it's still the first episode. P.S. the music is bad, just bad.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
Bad, just bad
I just saw this and I was disappointed.
I like Sophie Turner in GOT but I don't know about this. I like her as a person though, she seems like a really cool person.
Yeah, no. This movie is not it.
Anna (2019)
Average
The action scenes were kinda cool. However, my biggest problem was the writing. The storyline changes way too often it kinda felt like it was overdone. It's an action movie though - if you're looking for action movies to watch.
Joker (2019)
Twisted and Dark
Great character development. Kinda twisted and dark but worth the hype. A must see.
The Boys (2019)
Hilariously Amazing
This show is just brilliant. Well written, well acted, well scripted and well executed. A refreshing and original take on superheroes. This refreshing take is what makes the show quite intriguing.
Pennyworth (2019)
Exquisite style, storyline's a bit off
I really like the style of the show, it's very original and stylish. However, I can't seem to piece the storyline together. Is he a private investigator? Private security for hire? I'm currently on episode 3 and the action isn't really there and besides I can't seem to see any story arch building up.
