iCarly: iObject, Lewbert! (2022)
iCarly at its best
A wacky storyline with great heart. The jokes were great. Carly messing up the "Your Honor" thing was really cute humor. It's good to have some familiar faces back like Chuck, Lewbert and Guppy and while this episode did lean a bit on nostalgia factor it didn't feel intrusive. The Carly/Freddie/Spencer-line worked pretty well and I loved Freddie's facial expressions during his hearing. The Harper/Millicent/Olive-line was really cute and feel like the old tween comedies from the 2000's presented with a lot of charm. All in all a great start of the second season combined with the previous episode.
iCarly: iGuess Everyone Just Hates Me Now (2022)
Season 2 starts on a high note
While season 1 struggled to find its feet with episodes of inconsistent quality, iCarly starts its second season with a great episode. The jokes land well in this episode. My favorite was the "Yep, yep, yep, we threw a funeral". The Carly/Freddie plotline landed well and highlighted the bond between the two friends with a "complicated romantic history". The short Millicent/Spencer plotline was short, but Triplett and Trainor really worked well together and had great chemistry. It's especially good to see that Triplett really grows in her role. The Harper/Dutch-line didn't really hit for me until the end. All in all a great episode which shows promise for the rest of the season. Pearl was great too.
Lab Rats: Elite Force (2016)
Impressive for a Disney show
I haven't watched the predecessors of this show actively. I picked some of it up when my sister was watching, but for some reason this series got onto my radar. I know Disney shows tend to be very low level, although it seems that it seems to get slowly better recently. Lab Rats Elite Force is a series that fits perfectly in this line.
Whether this show is good is a matter of managing expectations. It's a Disney show so there are still cheap ass sets and laugh track, but I'm impressed by how fun this show is. The acting isn't bad, especially Kaz is pretty impressive with a variety of emotions. The writing is not bad either, although there are some fillery episodes and cringe-worthy moments here and there. I know I'm not the main demographic and I can't honestly say it's a great series, but if you're looking for a fun iCarly/Flash hybrid series this might be a nice series to give a try.
