Into the Deep (2020)
Surprised this doesn't have a higher score...
This is a crazy story and the documentary isn't organised with any shocks about what happened next, it just goes in to more detail about the terrible things that happened. You couldn't make up the story or the footage that the documentary makers got. The last footage from madsen at the end is chilling. Here was a guy who knew exactly what he was up to and wasn't a million miles away from getting away with it. Sometimes the real world is just as strange as fiction, and part of me thinks that madsen played his part here in giving the documentary makers a real life movie to show. Sickening to the core that these people exist on planet earth.
Trainwreck: Woodstock '99 (2022)
Just a non story
Yeah no doubt some bad stuff happened, but was it worth dragging it out this far? This was a 45-60 minute documentary dragged out, I guess watching time counts for a lot on Netflix and elsewhere still. You could make the same documentary about many music festivals over the years. The telling part is near the end when she says 'yeah I would go back'. But at least it did have some interest. But don't listen to the hype! I would have given a 6 if this was one hour long. Spend your time watching other stuff. One of the few that IMDb reviewers got wrong, I guess due to inexperience in the music world.
Vigil (2021)
Just ok
Lots of military types and right ( or left) wingers will one star this because it hurts their pride.
Those who want mindless fun will give a high score because it has all the cliches people like... although the end it a bit boring.
Those of us who just want good drama are fairly disappointed. There has to be a modicum of realism, and that is sorely missing. There are errors, plot holes and ridiculousness everywhere.
