The masterpiece of a cult classic

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension is a best thing since anything ever. I had ever loved this so much at a film this truly is one of the combine of science fiction and comedy in a unique way that had never done before like the other science fiction comedy movies that i loved.

It fuses two cultures together with several disciples and throws in fascist aliens and mixes in with interdimensional fun for a awesome laugh.

Welding the pieces together is a delirious, kinetic script by Earl M. Rauch.The film, although essentially a spoof of science fiction films and comic book superheroes, remains a delightful, inventive enigma of eighties cinema. The look of the picture is quite good, and (considering it's meager budget) highly-digestible. Given that the film never found a mass audience, it is surprising that so many individuals seem to remember it. substantial basics of storytelling and characterization is deemed imperative.

I will rate this movie: Take my money out of 10.

Japanese version of Evil Dead 2

A brilliant re-imagining of Shinya Tsukamoto's 1989 cult classic now with more story, more special effect and a bigger budget. Body Hammer is my favorite movie in the tetsuo series because it's expanded more with the story while keeping the storyline same and doing something new.

The effects are unique and uniquely unreal, as they were in the original. This is one filmmaker's nightmares rendered real. These two films, along with Lynch's Eraserhead, are the real deal. The cutting is fast so as to cause many (already extreme) shots to register on the subconscious more than the seeing eye. It will haunt you.

This is truly a worthy sequel that is a worth to watch.

I will rate this movie: highly watch this movie out of 10.

Mystery Men (1999)

My Childhood Movie.

The Mystery Men is my favorited and beloved superhero movie. I saw this movie somewhere in 2001 or 2003 and I've watched it many times over the years and it still remains a favorite of mine, due mostly to fond childhood memories. It's not a perfect movie, but it definitely deserves another look and perhaps a cult following to this movie.

I always have my 90s nostalgia movies and look back at them just like The Fifth Element, Ghost In The Shell and The City Of Lost Children as good movies to watch over and over again just like The Mystery Men.

STORY: In the metropolis of Champion City, the would-be superhero team of Mr. Furious (Ben Stiller), the Shoveler (William H. Macy), and the Blue Raja (Hank Azaria) attempt to make a name for themselves, but their suspect skills make them ineffective, and they find themselves upstaged by the city's most successful superhero, Captain Amazing (Greg Kinnear). However, Amazing is finding that his effectiveness at fighting crime has practically made his job obsolete, and without any worthy adversaries remaining (some of them are either dead, in exile, or still in jail), his corporate sponsors are beginning to pull their funding. To create a need for himself, Amazing uses his alter ego, billionaire lawyer Lance Hunt, to argue for the release of insane supervillain Casanova Frankenstein (Geoffrey Rush). The plan backfires; once reunited with Tony P (Eddie Izzard) and his Disco Boys, Casanova Frankenstein blows up the insane asylum, captures Amazing, and prepares to unleash a doomsday device: the "Psycho-frakulator", which lethally bends reality. Mr. Furious, while spying on Casanova Frankenstein's mansion, discovers Amazing's capture and informs the others.

After an unsuccessful rescue attempt, the three realize they need more allies, and through word-of-mouth and try-outs, they recruit Invisible Boy (Kel Mitchell), the Spleen (Paul Reubens), and the Bowler (Janeane Garofalo). The newly formed team "assaults" Casanova, which only succeeds in annoying him and damaging his car. While drunk from celebrating their victory, the team is nearly killed in retaliation by Tony P and the Disco Boys, but they are saved at the last minute by the Sphinx (Wes Studi). The Sphinx trains them, but his methods annoy Mr. Furious – he has them complete rote team-building exercises and speaks exclusively in Chiasmus. They also seek out mad scientist Doc Heller (Tom Waits), who specializes in non-lethal weaponry, to equip them for their battle.

The group breaks into Casanova's mansion during a gathering of several of the city's gangs; but, while attempting to free Captain Amazing, they inadvertently set off the Psycho-frakulator, killing him instead. Without Amazing, the team despairs of saving the city, but the Shoveler delivers a pep-talk that succeeds in uniting and inspiring them.

With new-found purpose, they assault the mansion and, by making effective use of their negligible superpowers and Heller's weapons, manage to subdue most of Casanova Frankenstein's henchmen. Unfortunately, as the heroes approach Casanova Frankenstein, he reveals that he is holding Mr. Furious' girlfriend Monica (Claire Forlani) hostage, and proceeds to activate the Psycho-frakulator, which begins to wreak havoc upon the city. While the team tries to stop the device, Mr. Furious takes on Casanova Frankenstein. After initially taking a beating, Mr. Furious unleashes his inner rage and manages to fight effectively for the first time. He defeats Casanova Frankenstein, who is thrown into the core of the Psycho-frakulator and killed by its reality-bending powers. The rest of the team helps The Bowler use her bowling ball to destroy the device and escape the mansion as it implodes.

The team is interviewed by reporters, begging to know their team name. As they argue among themselves, one reporter states "Well, whatever you may call them, Champion City will forever owe a debt of gratitude to these 'Mystery Men'," but the others are too busy arguing to hear it.

The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a score of 60% based on 101 reviews; the consensus states: "Absurd characters and quirky gags are brought to life by a talented cast, providing this superhero spoof with lots of laughs." On Metacritic, the film has a 65/100 rating based on 24 critics, signifying "generally favorable reviews".

Jonathan Romney said that it was "a desperately hit-and-miss affair". Michael Dequina of The Movie Report said that it "fails to come up with worthy gags and one-liners for the able cast." Steve Murray of Cox News Service gave it a negative review, saying "Mystery Men is like its hapless heroes. It's a wannabe that has the best intentions – including a pronounced anti-gun stance – but none of the knack it takes to save the day, or itself."

British television channel Film4 gave it a positive review, saying it was "Hugely entertaining – especially for those with a thing for superheroes."

I loved this movie at always in my 90s nostalgia side of me.

I will give it AN BETTER MOVIE BESIDE THAT HORRIBLE SUICIDE SQUAD MOVIE out of 10.

The Huge Disrespect Ever

This is the worst ripoff ever. It's looks like it was made by a film student who thinks he's the real deal, even though he can't crasp how light or sound really works. An idiotic remake that puts everyone involved to shame and perhaps, a place in hell! And yes, pod-people=lesbians.... I don't know how the movie can existed as a actual movie at all. Just think about it, the "movie" is an duplicate replacement from the invasion of the body snatchers films but instead of a intelligent copy, we got a very very IDIOTIC copy.

It's failed at everything both as an movie and as an ripoff. And by the following next time the "movie" will get scream at by a Donald Sutherland duplicate clone.

The Worst Reboot!

I'm A Sexist Manchild...Or Am I?

This is where we're at, folks. A good SNL skit spoofing a bad Ghostbusters movie is "Certified Fresh." Thankfully a decade from now no one will care and we'll probably get yet another painful reboot that will manage to somehow be even worse.

The perfect metaphors for this movie are in the movie itself. An ugly, bloated, hateful embodiment of the franchise logo literally gets shot in the privates. And that's what this movie is. A big, bloated, cynical crotch shot to the audience. But remember, you're "sexist" if you dare not join in on your own punishment, but more on that later. The "comedy" here is the equivalent of subtly making a joke and then someone screaming in your face, slapping the crap out of you, demanding you laugh, and sucking all humor right out of the room. By the way, thanks for demonstrating that, Patty. I might have chuckled quietly maybe twice. It's just not funny. This is a movie that literally farts in your face and describes the sound to you. LITERALLY. If that's not the perfect set of metaphors to describe this mess I don't know what is.

It reminds me of Will Ferrell movies where the joke lands, but then because the crew was laughing the actors keep going, just saying random nonsense until someone says cut, and by the time the scene ends the joke that was funny at first is now buried beneath an avalanche of useless garbage. Just because you laugh on set doesn't mean the joke will work in theaters, especially since the audience isn't on the set feeling the wacky energy behind the scenes. But watching the interviews with the director he seems completely unaware of this in spite of his years of fine film making. And it shows.

Which brings me to another point. The press. It didn't matter whether this movie was good or not, the press tour set the film up for failure from the start. This movie's pre-release press tour was the Donald Trump campaign of film. Pretending to be more than it is while pissing on the intended audience and claiming it's raining. By claiming the system was rigged by misogynist fanboys before the movie was even released they could excuse their failure by claiming "conspiracy." I'll grant you, those guys exist, but they are a tiny percentage blown out all proportion by a studio doing damage control just to get the movie more free press space. And all they did was give a microphone to the haters and then go and prove them right.

This movie is cynicism masquerading as film. It tried it's hardest to be something more, and then got hamstrung by a studio and a director that had the same sense of purpose and care for the consumer as a slimy used car salesman. This is the rusted out Chevy in the corner of the lot that got badly restored by a 1st year C Grade mechanics student running on Redbull and misguided sponsorships from whoever was stupid enough to think funding the thing would make them "hip." And then they claim the consumer did something wrong when it all falls apart. "It broke when you drove it? What did you do?!"

I wanted so badly for this movie to work. It doesn't. It's broken. Effects, character building, script, the painfully forced cameos (except Ernie Hudson, his was OK), the Adam Sandler level product placements...it just...doesn't...work. Moments that could have been amazing, like the final battle are dragged into an eye rolling comedy wasteland through the actors mugging and spewing terrible, forgettable one-liners right after. You want to cheer, but you just feel insulted. There is no excusing or fixing this wreck. Crush it and sell it for scrap.

I'd almost feel bad trashing this movie if Sony wasn't involved, but look at their track record. This is the company that keeps flooding the market with Sandler films. The company that made "The Amazing Spider- Flop: Screw You Rami," and "The Amazing Spider-Flop 2: The Desperation Continues." They're making an EMOJI movie, for goodness' sake. Pixels? I can't feel bad for this movie or anyone involved because they knew what companies were involved and they knew what that meant.

Sony, get out of the film industry entirely, shut down your distribution division, and go back to being a purely electronics manufacturing based company. You're a goldfish trying to climb a tree. Get back in your pond.

And finally, about that "You're a sexist manchild if you don't like it" stuff?

My exact sarcastic words were, "Thank you ever so much for making we waste two hours of my life."

The Thing (1982)

The Best Masterpiece of Horror.

John Carpenter is always my favorite directer with along with Guillemo Del Toro, Stephen Norrington and Fritz Lang. The Thing is an great movie that ever made in 1982 and still had it today. The Thing is a first movie in the Apocalypse Trilogy, which continued with Prince Of Darkness and ended with In the Mouth of Madness.

The Thing is widely regarded as one of John Carpenter's greatest masterpieces, and I would personally consider it a contender for the title of the best horror film ever made. It didn't always receive such a rosy reception, though. It was released in theaters just weeks after Steven Spielberg's much more blockbuster-friendly E.T., and its theatrical performance and initial critical reception weren't anything to write home about, the movie had became a beloved cult classic over the years.

The movie is a remake from 1951 The Thing From Another and was directed by Howard Hawks and Christian Nyby and adapted from a John W. Campbell short story; however, implicit Lovecraft allusions abound.

The Thing. The story concerns an alien creature found frozen in Antarctic ice that can absorb, digest, and then imitate perfectly any creature that it comes into contact with. What follows from its discovery is a classic meditation on paranoia, punctuated by some of the best practical special effects ever put on film. The Thing is a remake of the 1951 Howard Hawks film The Thing from Another World, which was itself based on a short story by John W. Campbell called "Who Goes There?"

Once it is revealed, the titular Thing is almost entirely unknowable. Not only is it alien in the most literal sense, but it's also outside of normally understood biology, genetically dissimilar from all life on earth. When discussing how the Thing can do what it does, or how it can live after being frozen for so long, one of the characters (played by Kurt Russell) says, "Cuz it's different than us, see. Cuz it's from outer space." And that's about all the more understanding of its reasoning the characters ever get. Though the creature can obviously speak perfectly when it is imitating one of the humans, it never explains itself.

The Movie is awesome in every way with an strong story, great actors and with great special effects. If you a john carpenter fan (just like i am) this movie is perfect for a horror movie night.
