Wounds (2019)
Waiting for something interesting to happen....
I wasnwondrribg when something interesting would happen in this movie, or maybe how it would end. And then suddenly, it occurred to me, that I didn't care about what might happen next nor how it all ended. I didn't care what happened to the characters. It was that poorly done. I left with 30 minutes left and have no interest in the outcome.
An angst ridden male lead, somehow cursed, revealing his inner asshole has been overdone and in this case it is poorly done even if we have never seen it. Army Hammer's overactive, his trying to make something out of nothing is a bit embarrassing. It was like he read ahead in the script and admitted to himself that there was no saving his anemic script, so he might as well go out in an overacted stink bomb explosion. Some bright spots from Dakota Johnson, but not enough for a movie. Avoid this for all reasons.
Heist 88 (2023)
Weak script, dialogue, acting, ending..
This is like a high budget junior college film . There is A LOT of bad acting in this film, but it may not be the actors fault. I sat watching and often predicting what the next line would be. The script dialog is so weak, so bad, so trite, I was embarrased for the actors who are forced to regurgitate it. Simply awful. You never get to know more than one character well enough to care whether they are successful in this heist. It was also comical how many of the young people were against committing this crime ( and I have no problem robbing an American bank) and then, very suddenly all fear and scruples are laid aside and they're all in. Lazy writing and so what storytelling.. The ending was lazy and weak. I'm surprised Showtime ever let this see the light of day on their channel.
Trauma Center (2019)
So sad
An icon like Bruce Willis deserves to go out better. His verbal manifestations of his now known frontotemporal dementia (FTD) are evidenced as he battles through this terrible dialog. FTD was likely the reason he chose to do this movie. Tito Ortiz, in any movie, should be a loud warning to avoid this experience. While any movie that prominently displays the acting chops of Tito Ortiz is destined for greatness, this one should be avoided for so many other reasons than to be a witness of the early evidence of Mr Willis's brain disease. It actually hurts to watch. I hope Bruce and his family are squeezing as much live out of the remaining days of his life as possible. Thanks for your real work, Bruce. We forgive you for this.
