Just Roll with It (2019)
Disney, you know you can make better shows than this.
I'm turning 21 in a few months and I'm not the target audience for this show, but that doesn't mean Disney Channel shouldn't at least try to make shows that appeal to older audiences as well as kids. I give the show credit for a non-stereotyped, racially diverse, blended family, and the actors do seem to be at least trying, but my praise for the show ends there. Just Roll With It tried too hard to be funny and instead ended up being annoying, obnoxious and overly hyperactive. I found myself cringing and thinking, "What the hell did I just see?" instead of laughing. You probably won't find a child older than 12 wanting to sit through this show. Disney Channel cancelled Andi Mack, an actual quality show with themes that kids are never too young to learn about, due to complaints from Donald Trump fawning mothers, but they're promoting Just Roll With It? Honestly, Andi Mack, Raven's Home, Sydney to the Max and Stuck in the Middle are the only quality sitcoms Disney Channel has made in recent years, but with the exception of those shows, the network hasn't had a good quality sitcom since Austin & Ally. That's only my personal standpoint.
Best Friends Whenever (2015)
Don't waste your time on this hunk of garbage!
This show is one of the most horrible Disney shows I've ever sat through in my entire life. It's not funny or entertaining in the slightest. It's incoherent, it's stupid, it's unoriginal, it's boring and OBNOXIOUS. It's a 6-year-old parody of The Big Bang Theory (which is a sitcom I really enjoy). Watching these characters feels like a form of psychological torment. Cyd and Shelby are annoying, Bret and Chet are painfully irritating brats, Barry is a smartass but the worst of all- NALDO. Naldo is just a non-funny, more annoying, smartass clone of Dez from Austin & Ally (Seriously, watch that instead. It's way better and won't make you want to slam your head against a brick wall). The guy aggravates me to the point where I just want to beat him until he's unconscious. On top of the painfully aggravating characters, the writing is lazy (Seriously were the writers drunk or something?) and it's a ripoff of Girl Meets World (which already was a deplorable show to begin with). Do I recommend this show? NO. It would be better to be in the stockade in the pouring rain than watch this show.
Modern Family (2009)
One of the best sitcoms of all time. Period.
Modern Family is an exemplary show. It's got everything to love in a sitcom. It has humor, heart, great acting, great writing, likable characters, I could go on forever. The jokes are sharp, believable and it's also not too hyper like a lot of today's sitcoms are. It has quieter moments. And not that I'm bothered by a laugh track, but it also understands that you don't need a laugh track to be funny. I love to watch it with my family every Wednesday. My family and I love it to death. It's as well one of those rare examples of a show that hasn't suffered from what I like to call "SpongeBob Syndrome" (With flanderizing characters, recycling episode plots, etc.). I definitely recommend it :).
Austin & Ally (2011)
Exemplary, Phenomenal, Outstanding series
I'm in my late teens veering into adulthood and I am not ashamed to say that I absolutely adore this show. Sure it's a bit corny, but what the hell do I care- I love sappiness in my TV series, movies, blah blah blah. It's adorable, hilarious, exuberant, infectious, has lovable characters, sharp writing, the actors knock it far out of the park and I definitely recommend it. Not only is Austin & Ally the best out of modern Disney Channel, but it is also one of the best Disney sitcoms I have ever watched in my entire life. It is appealing to any age- children, teens and even adults. For those of you who rip the show to shreds, what could you possibly have against it? If you don't like it, just don't watch it. I am also not ashamed to say that I have seen every episode and I have just watched in awe. Hm, I said it was great, is there anything I'm forgetting? Oh yeah, it also has great morals and strong role models. This show is a pure gem.
Bizaardvark (2016)
Avoid this anathema like the plague
This show is just ungodly deplorable. The acting is horrendous, the jokes are not even close to funny, and the writing is absolutely horrible, and the show strongly lacks originality. The jokes are so unfunny that it feels like a form of psychological torture. It's a shameless ripoff of iCarly, which was one of my favorites when I was a kid (I'm almost 18 now). In fact, not only did they rip off iCarly, but they ripped off Austin & Ally (which by the way is an awesome Disney show and the last good Disney show) a bit too. I want to know, was Disney smoking pot or crack or something when they thought this show was a good idea? Disney Channel has not put out one good show ever since Dog with a blog like Liv & Maddie and KC Undercover. But they don't even manage to come close to how dreadful this abomination really is. I recommend you avoid this pathetic excuse for comedy as if it were the plague.
