Back in 2010, we were taking a tour around that park, and it inspired me to think of making a short film where it takes place in the 19th century.
Originally, the film was called "19th Century Halo", it was scripted and I thought it would go well, but I decided to make changes and that's why we have this. My main reason is because we don't have any costumes that can fit the theming of the film.
The movie is supposed to start off with the narration where the camera angle points at the sun, but that was added to the end of the short film because the editors didn't listen to what the director wanted the audience in the showcase to see and that's what pisses me off. I wish Brandi Kosloy have listened to what I wanted this film to be, but I respect her.
So, it started off with us, group of kids, hanging out at the bench in the park. We have no idea what to do until my character thought that they should make a movie.
So, we brought in a camera, a tripod, and a clipboard. We were close to filming our own movie until we found some mysterious artifacts in the park and now we have a story of the film.
Jisung's character is worried that discovering into other dimensions in order to find out what Halo is as we find it, would cause to be cursed. So, the concept of the story for this short is mostly improvised and we tried.
In the scene, we are in another dimension and somehow Miles's character vanished after how he said that he wants to live in this dimension due to liking it so much. The reason why this scene was there is because Miles has to head home because the class from Actors for Autism is done.
Then later in the scene, Jonah Felton's character vanished for some reason.
As a director, I thought it would've made sense that wherever we find something that leads us into another dimension, it would increase timing, but Adam Shawn cuts me off while we're still filming (which is why that scene got an unnecessary jumpcut) and prefers just 10 seconds. Why? Because he and I'm pretty sure that Actors for Autism wanted to make this film shorter as possible.
Suddenly, we got into another dimension and as we're discovering that dimension, there was this girl who lives in the dimension (played by Jaime's sister, Celine) and we were asking her questions about how we can find Halo.
We have two guest appearances. Jaime's sister, Celine, as a girl who lives in a dimension that me, Jisung, and Jaime were in, and Adam Shawn as a voice of a blacksmith from the dimension where Jonah Felton and Miles vanished to.
Meanwhile, Jonah F. and Miles vanished into another dimension and they found footprints that took them to the dimension where me, Jisung, and Jaime are at.
At the end of the film, we found Halo which is a glowing rock and we got back into a real world and we were missing Miles and here ends for a sequel which had never happened because I don't go to Actors for Autism anymore.
At the end, it's not good. It's not a great short film due to unnecessary jumpcuts. However, we are proud that we made this film. After all the years that I haven't seen this until 2018, I'm planning to remake the short film and hopefully make it better and go with exactly what I wanted the audience to see and I'm thinking of using the original script I wrote back then.
