Its just a lot of people talking, talking and then talking some more. For reasons unknown all scenes that take place at the end of WW2 is shot in black and white. Everything else is in color. There are way too many characters, that only historians have heard of. And way too many references that also only historians would recognize.
So according to the movie Oppenheimer was mentally ill, had a wife and two kids and a mistress on the side. At one point his wife finds out. At another point we find out that the mistrees killed herself because Oppenhimer wouldn't leave his wife for her. All of this is as boring as the rest of the movie.
This moivie has cast a huge number of great actors, except Kenneth Brannagh, who plays Danish physicist Niels Bohr. An insult since Brannagh is british and Nolan had many great danish actors he could have chosen from to play a dane. To add to the insult Brannagh barely even tries to speak with a Danish accent. And he has already insulted the Swedish crime noir show by playing swedish Wallander, speaking English. As well as made a mockery out of Hercule Poirot. I don't know why this awful actor gets so many jobs.
Ther rest of the cast all acts fine, but theyre also all very boring and I cant remember a single characters name. It was also a huge problem in the plot appaerently that every physicist and engineer they hired was sucpected of being communists. This is also very boring and adds nothing exciting to the plot.. Me and my friend gave up after about an hour, that felt like two hours. My friend who is a huge fan of Christopher Noland movies wanted to stop watching first. That says a lot. I wanted to see if it got better. It didn't.
The one star that I'm forced to give goes to the casting od the actor that plays Einstein. He looks exactly like him.
Don't watch this drivel. You will have more time watching paint dry in slow-motion.
