The Last Ship (2014)
Started out good. but.....
The first two seasons were great. The premise was about finding a cure for a global pandemic, no matter who or what started it. It seemed one ship was far enough away from the disease to avoid catching it. We see an obviously obsessed virologist trying to find a cure, which eventually by season 2 she does. It then goes on to show how propaganda starts by delusional egoists who think they can take over the world if THEY are the only ones who have the cure. But then along comes an extremely disappointing season 3. We lose 2 very good characters...Dr Scott, & Tex. All of season 3 was about one thing, how many of the bad guys these navy seals can kill at each location they land, or approach. If I wanted to watch dozens of men get shot up, I'd turn on a war movie. I'm hoping season 4 goes back to the original premise, since the disease seems to have now mutated from the original, so my assumption is going to be the original cure no longer works. Thank goodness they at least brought back Tex. And Kara is back on board...never liked her in the "White House".
Better Late Than Never (2016)
Better than expected
I actually "laffed" out loud at the antics of these guys. The only downer I see in the whole thing, is Terry Bradshaw. If they keep this going (which I hope they do), please replace him. He's absolutely obnoxious, just like he was when he was a sportscaster. George Foreman is fantastic as the straight man to the rest. And of course William Shatner is the know-it-all prankster, & Henry Winkler is just endearing as the fall guy. Hope they keep this going, & that the guys visit all the continents, including some off-beat places in our own U.S. Yes, they did the Orient part of Asia, but there's also Russia. I also like it because it gives us a little "in" about the culture of the countries they visit.
