Enjoyable

Warning: Spoilers
I must say it was an satisfactory watch with entertaining close ups during slash scenes and satisfactory acting from most of the cast. I really appreciated the concept of this being a 'requel' and it showed that the movie can still be entertaining without necessarily placing the original cast as the main focus. Something which I found could have been considered better was the stunt choice for filming ghost face scenes. I found that the physique may not match up with that of the person who was then revealed to be the killer.

Spectacular from beginning to end

I went to the theater with mixed expectations (including possible disappointment) but I must say this movie delivered in all accounts! I dare say that it is on par with End game and Infinity war. I loved the character development of Peter but also how different stories of different characters were tied up nicely. I really appreciated the use of humour, with parts of the script hinting at the perspectives of us fans when describing certain characters. This movie has all the ingredients that are needed to deliver and meet expectations - a good balance in terms of action scenes, character development, emotions and relationships (romantic and familial), humour and seriousness, and also completeness. Well done !!

Disappointing
1 October 2021
The characters were overall enjoyable, retaining the same uniqueness and quirkiness shown in the first movie. Despite the creativity in the sequel, I feel that it was exaggerated in its attempt to be entertaining... with many jokes that were not even funny. The movie felt very disjointed with lots of random scenes that I believe did not make sense. It may be true that a younger audience may be the primary target and so a flow in the storyline may not be important. However, I also did not appreciate some of the scenes showing violence between the siblings (e.g., strangling with a pillow). Again, this may be the Addams family being peculiar but it would have been useful to underline that such behaviour is not to be repeated at home.

Promising Indeed!
2 January 2021
Funny, cunning, and elaborate in its overall delivery. Although the basic premise contains aspects that many of us are already familiar with, none of it was predictable; kept me guessing till the end.

Its emphasis on feminism and portrayal of males might be viewed as a bit extreme by some - almost to the point of reverse sexism. Personally, it did not bother me at all as it is still a phenomenon that is very relevant; and I feel it's underlying message goes beyond that.

Anyway not to spoil anything I will just say that it will definitely be worth your while. Carey Mulligan's performance on its own is already a big plus with a lot of depth to her character and delivery. I hope her performance is given the appreciation it well deserves! I also really appreciated the movie's use of music and the choice of attire throughout different scenes - spot on!

I did not give it a 10 because there were some aspects that I felt could have been portrayed better (especially towards the end). Also. some of the characters could have been developed more as it felt like the movie was very much polarised with most characters fitting in the category of 'good' or 'bad'. But I need to also appreciate that it might represent the main character's way of thinking (you're either good or you're like 'them').

Enjoy :)

A journey towards rediscovering one's purpose
27 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is my first time writing a review but watching this movie was a very touching experience which I would like others to hopefully experience as well. I feel that this movie touches upon the core of our very existence which many of us tend to overlook amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. It takes us through a journey with two characters coming from different starting points: one who's main purpose to his existence has been his passion for jazz, and one who is yet to taste and experience what it means to live. From my perspective, what really makes this movie special is its ability to take us through such deep and abstract concepts through characters which we can relate to. Both Joe and 22 may really represent both aspects of ourselves: one which is swept and lost by the need for a goal or specific purpose; and a more pure side which finds purpose through simplicity and living 'in the moment' as opposed to the past or the future.

I also cannot forget to comment on the amazing graphics, script and animation which really bring out the unique attributes of each character. The script is also ingenious with reference to alot of well known proponents from different fields whom have left a mark in our world; together with a pinch of humour that brings a certain lightness to very abstract underlying topics. If you are still doubting whether to watch it because of its seeming complexity just give it a try as the general premise itself and the storyline are enough to sweep one away into reflecting about things which might be taken for granted - life itself!
