Bonanza: Hoss and the Leprechauns (1963)
My favorite episode
I would classify this episode as a comedy even though there are a couple of somber moments. Dan Blocker and Michael Landon are the best comedians. They make a great pair. Little Joe's laugh, played by Michael Landon, is contagious. The chase scenes are just as funny. The show starts out with unbelief from everyone from what Hoss has seen. Even his family does not believe him. Then Little Joe sees the same thing that Hoss has seen and the outrageous laughter never stops. The show actually shows the issue of prejudice in a different way. It was not the usual example of prejudice for that time period. Eventually everyone believes Hoss when everyone sees what he sees. He has a wonderful view of the guest stars in the end.
Bonanza (1959)
The greatest television show ever!!!!
Bonanza is the best television show of all time, hands down!!! It is my all time favorite. This show actually began before I was even born but I can remember watching it as a young child. Over the years I have seen almost every episode from re-runs. It is a classic western about the Cartwright family; 3 grown half brothers and their father. Lorne Greene stars as the father. Pernell Roberts is the oldest son, Adam. Dan Blocker is the middle son, Hoss. Michael Landon is the youngest son, Little Joe. They added an adopted son, Jamie, toward the end of the series. Everyone is sure to find a favorite character from this family. My first crush was "Little Joe." Hoss was also a top favorite. Lorne Greene is the best TV dad, in my opinion. I'm so glad this show is still being shown on TV 50 plus years after its debut. It has stood the test of time. It is a dramatic series but there are many episodes that are pure comedy; especially with Little Joe and Hoss. I absolutely love, love, love this show.
