American Horror Stories: Milkmaids (2022)
Actually one of the best episodes
I really don't get the bad reviews. This episode was actually better than the 1st and 2nd episodes. The whole concept of the early discovery of vaccinology, religion vs science, false prophets and religious misogyny...this episode had a depth that was lacking in early episodes. Had this episode made into an entire season, it could've been an interesting change in pace for AHS. I didn't like the ending, but the whole story had such an interesting idea that I feel it should have been appreciated more for what it is. Personally, I don't care much about "horror" or "gore" because in the end, it's the idea and story that makes good TV. And this episode is an example of that.
RuPaul's Drag Race: Grand Finale (2022)
Great Finale!!
I loved how each queen were given the chance to show their performances individually, instead of just mixing them together in a lip sync battle.
The whole episode went so smoothly, without any fillers nor boring moments. And it was great to see the performance from queens from the past.
The format of this finale was almost perfection.
It made me realize that having 5 finalists is better than 3, because then you have more content for the finale and avoid filling the episode with meaningless content.
I hope they continue with this format because it really worked.
RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs the World: Snatch Game: Family Edition (2022)
Fair Game
I feel sad for Pangina, but she did that to herself. Jimbo was unfairly eliminated last week, and karma bit Pangina's ass. Honestly, Jimbo and Pangina were the most talented queens this season and none of them deserved to go home. Now, ironically we are left with Jujube, who should've gone home 2 episodes earlier.
This goes to show how you have to play fair, or else you'll pay the price in the end. Had Pangina kept Jimbo last week, none of this would've happened.
I loved this episode because it's a lesson we all have to learn. You can't get away for something you did that wasn't right.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
Irritating to watch
"Legendary sold the film to Netflix after a string of disastrous test screenings"
That's what IMDB says in the Trivia section, and it all makes sense after watching the film.
No amount of gore will save a film from a bad script. The audience are not that naive. Characters doesn't have to be perfect, but at least their actions and motives have to make sense. You can't expect us to believe a scenario where a woman doesn't kill the villain when she has the chance to. Or when the characters make extremely illogical decisions just to be "there".
The film weirdly tries to inject some depth into the main character by having her have a "traumatic" past, but it comes off as forced because the character doesn't have enough screen time to show her struggles. It's all half-baked.
This film was extremely irritating to watch.
American Horror Story: The Future Perfect (2021)
I don't get it...
What was the purpose of the Aliens?! To create Hybrid babies so that it could populate earth? But... why?! Lol. Why didn't they just kill all humans and take control of earth themselves (which would have made much more sense)? What's the benefit of making hybrid babies, and manipulating humans for 60 years? This whole plot was just... weird... lol And the ending was so abrupt I couldn't believe my eyes.
I wanna give props where props are due though. I think the writers did a decent job considering this whole season was probably written to fit COVID filming regulations. I understand it was probably hard to come up with a plot that could fit filming restrictions. However... to be totally honest, the story just wasn't that good. I think it would have worked better if they wrote a simple horror story, without all the camp and ridiculousness. Maybe a Saw (or a Cube) like horror story with just a few actors trapped in several rooms fighting for their lives? Or maybe a simple, straightforward ghost story? I think the main problem AHS has nowadays is the fact that it tends to bring too much camp and stupidity thinking it would be "crazy" and "fun". The series forgot how sometimes, a simple approach can be the most effective approach.
After all I said... I still wanna thank everyone for bringing us another season though. I hope next season kicks some ass.
American Horror Story: Blue Moon (2021)
How illogical can it get?
I don't know where to start.... 2 males get impregnated with an alien baby, and then they get all emotional about "wanting to start a family" with that kid. Oh.. did I mention that the baby is an alien? AN ALIEN! Who would cry over "wanting to start a family" with a f--ing alien baby?! If you were impregnated with an alien baby, wouldn't you act terrified? Would you really cry over how you "love" the baby? Lol
This show is turning into some serious, bad joke. It's just too illogical at this point.
And don't even get me started at how many time jumps were in this episode. 1954, 1964, 1953, a week later, 3 weeks before, 2021, a week later..... it's ridiculous.
Don't Look Now (1973)
Extremely overrated...a BAD film
Maybe, the biggest surprise about this film is not the plot itself, but it's reception. I can't believe the number of people praising it and treating it as if it's a masterpiece. It's an extremely flawed film, even if you consider it was made in 1973.
I was confused watching the film because the characters acted in an abrupt and weird way no one in real life would ever do. The main characters are supposed to be grieving but you never sense anything from their actions. They just look like a rich couple spending a good time in Italy.
And the interactions are so weird. For instance, a woman faints in an overly dramatic way in a restaurant, landing her in a hospital. But in the very same day, she and her husband acts like nothing really happened, smiling and touring through Venice as if the events earlier in the morning never took place. It's just so unrealistic and weird. Things like this happens a lot in this film. I lost count.
Not let's talk about the film construction. The film is filled with endless quick shots of Venice it completely messes with the pacing. You'll see quick shots of the skies, water, streets, lights, river... over and over and over again. It's beyond repetitive and pointless. How many times are we gonna have to see a reflection in the river?!
The infamous, never ending sex scene itself proves how badly constructed this film actually is. What's the point of having a 10 minute sex scene mixed with quick shots of a woman getting ready in a bathroom?
This is a 2 hour film. Why would you waste 10 minutes doing that? Did you really need that amount of sex scene to make whatever point you wanted to make?
This film is not a masterpiece. It's a MESS. It's basically a collage of scenes and weird character interactions.
Ojing-eo geim: Kkanbu (2021)
Perhaps one of the most powerful episodes on TV
Sounds like I'm exaggerating but... this episode might be one of the most powerful episodes I've ever seen on a TV show. It is extremely realistic, in a sense that it shows exactly what humans do when in survival mode. What's the point of morality or dignity when you're facing life or death? People will do literally anything when facing certain circumstances and this episode teaches us a great lesson about human nature. I LOVED this episode because watching it felt much more than just entertainment.
American Horror Story: Winter Kills (2021)
Why would they try to do business with THAT?
This season (Red Tide) started out interesting but it went nowhere in a matter of minutes. Most characters were underdeveloped and had no meaning existing within the series. What was the point of having TB Karen, Mickey, Holden and Leslie on the show? They were just... literally there! The side characters had no substance... they just acted loud and troubled, but they were empty characters. TB Karen is the most pointless of all the characters. Aside from acting crazy and sad, what did she actually do to contribute to the story?? Having her turn her life around, and have a happy ending would have been a much more satisfying ending... but NOPE.... The writers just decide to have her kill herself. And don't even get me started at how stupid Harry acted the whole time. He took the pill (which supposedly makes you smarter), but continued to be a moron. The irony...
And the biggest problem I had was where the story went... if the pill made people like that, why would anyone think about making business with it in the first place?! If you had a golden ticket machine, would you randomly start giving it to everyone?? Wouldn't you just keep that to yourself (especially considering the consequences) ? What would Ursula and the chemist actually gain from distributing those pills to all of Los Angeles? They were just technically creating apocalypse. There's no logic to that. It's just... so stupid. Lol
I can't believe this is the same show that once had Asylum, Coven and Freakshow as seasons. Look at how low things got.
American Horror Stories: Game Over (2021)
Nothing made sense
Absolutely nothing made sense.
The whole episode breaks the 4th wall, but in the most confusing way ever.
I can't even start arguing about what was wrong... because it's so messy.
And the most surprising part is the fact that this episode was written by Ryan and Brad themselves.
I get a feeling that this episode was conceived at last minute, as an attempt to give fans something fresh as the series finale.
It failed... hard.
The Djinn (2021)
Just... no.
The all powerful "Djinn" wasn't able to catch a little boy in a small, one bedroom apartment. Lol
The all powerful "Djinn" tried to kill the boy by leaking the gas from the stove. Lol
The all powerful "Djinn" fainted a lot. Lol.
