Follow Alana (2021)
The coolest thing about Zermatt is its proximity to the Matterhorn
If there is one goddamned thing, I have learned from this show so far, it is that the Swiss are an outdoorsy bunch, and Zermatt seems to be an epicenter for skiing, adventuring, and mountaineering. The coolest thing about Zermatt is its proximity to the Matterhorn, which is a major draw for visitors. I have obviously heard of the Matterhorn before, but it was really something to see the way it looms over the little town. To me, it looks like a shark's fin jutting ominously out of the water, but I'm afraid of heights so take that as you will. Summiting the Matterhorn is clearly a challenge that should be approached with respect, and it was interesting to be shown around (via our trusty host Alana) by a climbing guide and lifelong Zermatt resident. This is like the third time while watching this show that I thought to myself "man, these rugged Swiss mountain men are cute," but that's another story.
My Transparent Life (2022)
Watch this movie if you have questions about being transgender
This film answered all of the questions that I have ever had about what it is like to be a transgender person. Jesse and Stassi were very nice people and great choices for this movie because they decided to be very open an share everything about their private lives which included letting us see inside the operating theatre when Stassi had her breast augmentation surgery. It was nice to see that even though some of the family members did not support Jesse and Stassi see some of them did. Stassi's sister and Jesse's sister were both too amazing characters in this film and if they ever read this I want them to know that I think they are amazing and I wish I had a sister like them. Watch this movie if you have questions about being transgender and if you want add to learn how to support your friends and family members that may be going through this situation.
Bholaa Bhaai (2022)
The Best Indian Film Ever
There's absolutely no doubt that this is one of the Best Indian film ever. The writing, the performances, the dance as well as the songs are all top notch. The writing is so tight that it felt like three hours had flown by in the blink of an eye. Now a days finding a film that will hook you like this film does is rare, this film is an absolute Classic!
Captors (2020)
Create an extremely tense atmosphere
Not only does this movie create an extremely tense atmosphere the moment it starts, it has plenty of blood and violence to bombard your eyes, not to mention that it has a shocking evil twist I had not seen in any horror movie. I watched this film alone at night with the lights off, expecting to be freaked out by it since I thought it was just another typical horror movie; but instead I was completely intrigued by the story line, and utterly drawn into the film for the whole 90 minutes. At the end I did not feel scared, rather, I felt something very few horror movies have to offer: satisfaction! This movie left me in a slightly disturbed but very thoughtful state. It did not give me nightmares, it plagued my day-dreams; for two days my thoughts could not stray far from this film, that's how powerful it is.
One and a Half Knot (2020)
Self-questioning and self-reflection
The Director's dialectical, self-questioning mode of representation is a central concern of my reading of Dedh-Gaanth. 'Self-questioning' and 'self-reflection gather another meaning in it. At first, one might expect something graspable (a 'conclusion' or solution), from this film. But as the short run time comes to an end, one might wonder whether this 'story' is much more about oneself and one's relation to what is on screen, as opposed to any content or 'message'.
