Murder by the Sea (2018)
Bit disappointed
To begin with I thought this was going to be a great series. However I must agree with the reviews in that the background music and sounds became unbearable. The storylines were interesting but ruined by the repetitive comments throughout. Another annoying thing is the comment in the introduction that the sea has no respect for human life!!! What a ridiculous statement, the sea is the sea and it is us humans that have no respect for the Sea!
The other fact that needs to be clarified is that mental illness does not make a person a murderer. Most murders are committed by people that know exactly what they are doing and are perfectly sane. This should be added to the narrative perhaps look at and quote the statistics on that subject
I have tired of this series unfortunately.
Ask ve Ceza (2010)
Loved it!!!!
Just finished Love and Punishment. Loved it. Brilliant casting loved Saavas and Yasemin well acted. Still loving Turkish TV. Hanging out for season 2. Love story with a difference. Two entirely different opposing cultures that is still the norm in some countries. Binged watched until the end. Thank you cast and crew, writers and producers, brilliant
Game of Silence (2016)
Another must watch Turkish TV series
I am becoming addicted to Turkish TV. Just finished Game of Silence, try to compare this to Ezel and Karaday1 - impossible! Even though they all have similar themes running through them I could not pick one out as the best. They are all brilliant, love the story line, its horrifying to think that this series was based on a true story.
Congratulations to all of the cast you were amazing.
I cannot wait for Ezel and Karaday1 - series 2. Come on Netflix! After binge watching these extra long shows, its almost impossible to find a replacement. They are so well written and acted that they leave an imprint. Thank you
Karadayi (2012)
Addicted to Turkush TV
I feel compelled to reply to some comments made in this forum. Ezel was my first experience of a Turkish TV series and I adored it. I do not agree that the show was boring, nor complicated. Once you got your head around the plot it was simple enough to work out! As for boring, well the slow motion & emotional scenes are what is best about these shows. I had been watching American shows prior and yes I enjoyed some very much, however by comparison most are filled with explicit sex scenes and overly glamorous film stars. There are exceptions naturally, and I have set aside that aspect in those that I have liked.
Yes there is a glamour to the cast of Ezel and Karaday1 but they come across as super intelligent and real. You can relate to them easily. They come across as deep and meaningful people who have worked hard to achieve such successful shows.
I am mid way through Karaday1, loving every second of it, as mentioned in other reviews, I too cannot wait till the next episode. I too find myself binge watching, till wee hours and not ashamed to admit the odd afternoon session.
Karaday1 did take a little longer for me to get into, but it gets better as it goes along. Long - yes, boring - definitely not, complicated - takes concentration which is a credit to the writers.
The music to Ezel is haunting and will stay with me forever. Thank you Turkish TV
Ezel (2009)
Excellent, I adored Ezel
Ezel changed my life, I cannot add much to what has already been said about the cast, characters and plot. What I can say that it hit me hard, deeply emotional yet funny at times. Ali (The Pliers) cracked me up both good, bad, happy and sad.
As for Ezel, I have to say I adored him, not as Omer so much but as he matured into Ezel his tortured soul, torn between right and wrong.
Ezel was like looking into the mirror of my soul a reflection of past. The music haunts me Ezel will stay with me forever, thank you Turkish TV. I cannot wait for series 2 on Netflix
I have just finished series 2 on Youtube, thank you JanaP and other Translators, you put in a lot of very hard work.
Was just as thrilled with season 2, as Dayi and Kenan background unfolded. Yes you really need intelligence to appreciate and follow Ezel. Agree with previous comments around that as well as the program staying with you it burrows in and stays with you.
Yes the ending was very sad at the same time left open for each person to come to their own conclusion, Ali Abi was brilliant in series 2, truly sorry for his betrayal. Loved that he, Azad and baby Teflo had happy ending. Can was lucky to end up with them. Cengis....what can you say, I would have got rid of him long before. So glad Ezel and Ali let him go!
loved the train scene, Ezel and Asyan together forever, I don't think it could have ended any other way. I cannot explain the effect Ezel has on you....it does change the way you think and live your life!! Perhaps as suggested by others it hits some people on a much deeper level.
For those who watch TV for pure light entertainment alone Ezel may not be for you. It take deep concentration and understanding and hits you emotionally.
Thank you for giving me the Ezel experience and taking me along the journey. Xx
