Interior Cafe Night (2014)
Interior Cafe Night
The title of this film itself is the one and only scene in this film. It's a film which depicts love, sadness and reconciliation in a very subtle way. The film has two heroes one is Naseeruddin Shah and the other is Naveen Kasturia. It starts of with Shah meeting Shernaz Patel, her past love. On the other hand there's Naveen Kasturia with his girlfriend. The rest is something that you will find out after watching the film. All four of them act brilliantly. Direction by Adhiraj Bose is excellent. He handles this romantic drama in a very delicate manner.
I'm going with four out of five for Interior Cafe Night. Hope you give at least 13 minutes for this wonderful piece of art.
Tamasha (2015)
Life's a Spectacle!
Tamasha begins with a stage play wherein Ranbir acts as a robot. The play there seemed to be completely illogical at that point of time, but as the same play was repeated at the end we clearly understand it. Ranbir Kapoor, the hero, plays Ved Sahni, he is cool, good looking and dramatic. He lends his phone to Tara played by Deepika Padukone who wants to make an urgent call. That's the way they meet. Tara is gorgeous and attractive. She totally gets engaged with him in Corsica.
They decide that they won't let their relationship be the usual one; for this reason they don't even tell their real names to each other. The first half is funny and entertaining. It amuses you the way Deepika gets amused by Ranbir. She kinda falls for Ved because of his witty and cool nature. The song shot in Corsica titled 'Matargashti' completely illustrates Ved's madness and dramatic behavior.
Imtiaz Ali makes another masterpiece after his first major break, Jab We Met. But Tamasha doesn't cater to almost all sorts of the audience, there may be many of them who might feel that this film doesn't create any sort of magic in their minds or hearts but frankly speaking the film itself is a magic created by the magician named Imitiaz Ali. His direction is accomplished and proficient. The screenplay is non- linear, it shows Ved on three different stages of his life i.e childhood, boyhood, and the matured one. Ranbir plays Ved as a young one and a matured one. The screenplay is fast, funny, appealing, and emotional in the second half.
Ranbir is excellent as Ved. At some point of time we find Ved being inane. He makes you think that he requires a psychologist for his immature behavior. Later things get revealed and we see the reasons behind this and at least one thing is proved that our hero is not a psycho. Deepika also plays her role well. Tara loves Ved, she loves almost everything in Ved. In the second half things take a tragic turn in her life. Things aren't in the right place.
Tamasha is all about finding who you are. Being yourself, living yourself. It's not good to compulsorily establish yourself as 'mediocre' or 'average'. It's about running in such a race in which you will come first rather than running in a rat race and landing almost nowhere.
Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017)
Sweet as Sugar!
Finally Ashwiny directs her second film, an adaption of the French novel, "The Ingredients of Love" by Nicolas Barreau. The film starts and ends with Javed Akhtar's voice over. He narrates the movie. It stars my favorites Rajkumar and Ayushmann. Rajkumar plays the mild-mannered Pritam Vidrohi who is stuck in a problem whose creator is none other than Ayushmann who plays the dude, Chirag Dubey. There's Kriti, the heroine who plays Bitti; she is independent and cool. She smokes, watches Hollywood films and translates in her own way to her friends. Bitti was someone who wasn't like the other girls staying in Bareilly. Rajkumar portrays two shades in this film, one being shy and kinda introvert and the other being a bad-ass.
Writers Nitesh Tiwari, Shreyas Jain and Rajat Nonia have written the screenplay beautifully and in a very effective manner. The screenplay is precise, quick, funny and not to forget romantic. Ashwiny has proved that a director can make a film better than his/her debut although their first turns out to become a success. There was a time when I thought that Ayushmann made a mistake by choosing the script but finally I got satisfied after watching the climax.
Bareilly Ki Barfi is not a love triangle. It's a Rom-Com which depicts people who find their desired lovers in a person and what happens thereafter. People want to love someone who they have desired, who they feel are good looking, and attractive too. But let me remind you that Ashwiny doesn't wack you on your head for remembering the key points, in turn she illustrates them like a zephyr.
I'm going with eight out of ten and two big thumbs up for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's Bareilly Ki Barfi. It's probably one of the best films of 2017. Hope you make the time for it.
Munna Michael (2017)
Munna Micheal
Next Gen Films and Eros International's Munna Micheal (U/A) directed by Sabbir Khan, is story about Munna, a dancer who is inspired by Micheal Jackson.
Micheal (Ronit Roy) is a dancer who is inspired by Micheal Jackson. He finds a child on the streets and decides to take him home. He names that child Munna. Years later Munna (Tiger Shroff) grows up and becomes a dancer who is also inspired by Micheal Jackson. One day Munna gets into a fight with a gang. He beats up all of them. After which Munna is being brought to Mahinder Fauji (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) as he fought with his men. Mahinder learns that Munna is a good dancer and and decides to hire him as a dance teacher. After a few days, Mahinder learns dancing and reveals to Munna that he learned dancing so that he could impress his crush i.e. Deepika Sharma a.k.a Dolly (Nidhhi Agerwal), a dancer in a club. After a few meetings, Munna is attracted to Dolly but never confronts about it. The rest forms the crux of the story.
The script of this film is penned by Vimmi Datta and it's so boring and stereotype that one can easily predict the whole story of this film after watching the first act. There are some dialogues that are mass appealing but a script can't stand film only with cheesy dialogues and punchlines. There are so many scenes in this film that irritate the audience instead of entertaining them. Thus, the script is the major demerit of this film.
Tiger Shroff's performance could've been better. Apart from acting, his stunts and mind-blowing dance will amuse the audience till the end of the film. The role of Dolly is played by Nidhhi Agerwal and she fails to shine well in her debut. Because of the dull screenplay she gets unnoticed in the film. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is okay as Mahinder. This may be the only film where doesn't play his role well. His performance is comprehensively ineffective, but a few jokes make it up to passing marks. The rest of the cast barely fit the bill.
Sabbir Khan's direction is completely average. His narrative style is slow and annoying. Cinematography by Hari K. Vedantam is beautiful, I wonder how he must have shot those scenes wherein Shroff dances and performs stunts. Editing by Manan Sagar is nice. "Main Hoon" and "Ding Dang" are hit musical numbers.
On the whole, Munna Micheal is a losing fare. It's a film which will only appeal to Tiger Shroff fans and a thin section of the mass audience who love watching action-dance films. In terms of box office, it may prove to be an average fare as films like Lipstick Under My Burkha and Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk will gather the class audience and also a huge chunk of masses.
Jagga Jasoos (2017)
Jagga Jasoos
Pictureshuru Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures' Jagga Jasoos (U/A) written and directed by Anurag Basu is a film which tells the story of a teenage detective who is in search of his missing father.
Jagga (Ranbir Kapoor) is a detective who is in search of his foster father Badal Bagchi a.k.a Tutti Futti Bagchi (Saswata Chatterjee) who left Jagga in a boarding school since childhood. He meets a journalist, Shruti (Katrina Kaif) and helps her to get out of a trouble. In turn, Shruti decides to help Jagga and gets in search with him to find her father. Will Jagga find his father? The rest forms the crux of the story.
The story and screenplay of this film is being written by Anurag Basu and I'll have to say that this basic story has a very over- longed and stretched screenplay which hardly amuses the audience in the second and third act of the film. The dialogue of this film are mixed i.e. both prose and poetry. The musical dialogues penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Anurag Basu, Samrat Chakraborty and Debatma Mandal are nice, witty and enjoyable, but this enjoyment doesn't remain till the end of the film. Of course all the four of them have put in a lot of effort to pen such dialogues but it's dull screenplay makes it meaningless and boring. The dialogues i.e the prose one's are penned by Samrat Chakraborty and they are alright as there is much of music and less portion of prose in this film. So, this hardworking script fails to make a positive mark in the minds of the audience.
Ranbir is excellent as Jagga. He does justice to his role. Katrina Kaif is okay in the role of Shruti, nothing so great which should be appreciated. Actually she just lends support to Ranbir in the film. Saswata Chatterjee's performance is good, he plays his role well. The rest of the cast lends good support.
Direction by Anurag Basu could've been better. Like the screenplay, his direction also lacks the adventure and comedy element and remains with ample of music in it. Cinematography by Ravi Varman is mind-blowing. That's the only thing that I loved the most in this film. Ajay Sharma's editing is good in parts as some of the scenes had to be abridged. 'Galti Se Mistake' and 'Ullu Ka Pattha' work as refreshments in the film.
On the whole Jagga Jasoos, is a movie which is only for the children and for a thin section of the class audience who love watching movies like 'The Wizard Of Oz' and animated musical films produced by Walt Disney Pictures. In terms of box-office, it's dwindled hype and opulent budget will entail losses to the investors and distributors.
Ittefaq (2017)
Ittefaq
Red Chillies Entertainment, B.R. Studios and Dharma Productions' Ittefaq (UA) is a whodunit thriller directed by Abhay Chopra. It is a remake of Yash Chopra's 1969 film of the same name.
Vikram Sethi (Sidharth Malhotra) is a well-known Indian author who is based out of London. He is currently in India for the release of his new book. His wife, Katherine (Kimbereley McBeath), is found dead in the hotel room and since Vikram is the prime suspect, he is on the run from the police who are giving him a hot chase. He enters into Maya Sinha's (Sonakshi Sinha) house. Over there after some time the police arrive as Maya calls them and they find that Vikram has killed Maya's husband Shekhar Sinha (Samir Sharma). Investigating police officer Dev Verma (Akshaye Khanna) has only three days to solve the two murder cases. He interrogates the two of them and finds out that both of them tell him different stories. Vikram says that Maya allowed him to enter into her house to make a phone call whereas Maya says that Vikrma forcefully entered into her house. As the story unfolds many characters are introduced. The rest forms the crux of the story.
The script of this film is penned by Abhay Chopra, Shreyas Jain and Nikhil Mehrotra and its an engaging thriller. The screenplay of this film is adapted but it's not a frame to frame remake of Yash Chopra's film. The have taken some parts of Yash Chopra's film and they have added something different to the rest of it. The screenplay is breathtaking, it doesn't allow the audience to think even for a while. The dialogues of the trio are clap-worthy and humorous.
Sidharth Malhotra does a fine job in the role of Vikram, he makes his screen presence well. Akshaye Khanna is just amazing as a cop. His heroic dialogues and few a few witty one's will make you entertain all the way. Sonakshi's acting is alright. The rest of the cast also acts well.
Direction by Abhay Chopra is fantastic. This film doesn't seem to be like his directorial debut. He makes the film so thrilling that you won't leave your seat until the end credits roll. Michael Sebastian Luka's cinematography is eye-filling. Editing by Nitin Baid is excellent. The editing is so sharp that in one of the scenes I felt like rewinding it and watching it again.
On the whole Ittefaq is an entertaining fare. It's a film for the classes, masses, whodunit thriller and suspense movie lovers. It's positive word of mouth will show a good growth in the film's collections.
Aksar 2 (2017)
Aksar 2
Siddhi Vinayak Creation's Aksar 2 (A) directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan is a story about seizing money and property.
Dolly Khambata's (Lillette Dubey) governess dies in a road accident. Her financial adviser Patrick Sharma (Gautam Rode), hires Sheena Roy (Zarine Khan) for the post of Dolly's governess. Sheena lies to Patrick that she is single as only single women can handle that job. In reality she has a boyfriend Ricky (Abhinav Shukla). Patrick is sexually attracted to Sheena. He forces Sheena to sleep with him as he gave her the job. After Sheena sleeps with Patrick, she tells him about a secret regarding the will which Dolly made. This secret keeps Patrick in tension for a long time. What was it that made him anxious? the rest forms the crux of the story.
The story of this film is penned by Narendra Bajaj and its boring right from the second act of the film. Such a routine plot is not at all appealing to any section of the audience. Sunjiv Puri's screenplay is not thrilling at all. The suspense of the film doesn't excite the audience at all. The movie is so slow in the first half that it completely distracts you and keeps no excitement.
Zarine Khan's acting is not at all impressive. She fail's to make a good screen presence. One the other hand Gautam Rode's acting is good but due to it's dull script, his character doesn't shine well. Lillette Dubey's acting is good in parts. the rest of the cast is so-so.
Ananth Narayan Mahadevan's direction could have been better. Of course, one will have more expectations from a National Award winning director, but he ruins the expectations of the audience as the film lacks the thrill element. So overall his direction is average. Cinematography by Maneesh Bhatt is poor. Ananth's editing is also loose, it's not at all sharp. Aaj Zid is the only song that is melodious.
On the whole, Aksar 2 is a complete disaster. This kind of film will hardly find any audience. It's an annoying show all the way.
Baadshaho (2017)
Not Like A Baadshah
A truck having millions of gold in it, which had to be burgled in the middle of the road doesn't appear to be bad on paper, but I'll have to say that this one was awful on the big screen.
A backdrop of Emergency in 1975, reminds me of Madhur Bhandarkar's amateurish Indu Sarkar. But Baadshaho isn't like this one. Also it's bad ass one-liners and terrific action scenes become negligible because of it's prolonged duration of two hours and forty-two minutes.
The ensemble cast consists of Ajay Devgn who plays Bhawani Singh a bodyguard who works for Ileana D'Cruz who is a Queen. Vidyut playing a soldier is mind-blowing, his mustache and physique makes an impressive remark. Emraan Hashmi as Dalia is all- right, whereas Sanjay Mishra in the role of Guruji, who knows how to break locks is like an entertainment package. Esha's and Ileana's performances are so-so.
Director Milan Luthria of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and The Dirty Picture fame has made the film look so scruffy that more than a heist drama it seems to be like a spoof of one of the previous films made on the same genre in Bollywood.
Story and Screenwriter Rajat Arora who has an indistinguishable fame like the director has written an entirely boring and feeble - minded screenplay. Hoewever, the first act appears to be heroic and clap-worthy with Ajay stating his repetitive dialogue. There is another whistle-blowing dialogue that Emraan Hashmi says in the third act. So a simple story and second- rate screenplay can't help this film to emerge as a blockbuster.
Sunita Radia, the Cinematographer has shot the film extremely well. The editing is also fantastic.
Comprehensively, this mass audience targeted film will prove to emerge as debacle.
I'm going with one and a half out of five for Baadshaho. Save your time.
Golmaal Again (2017)
Please Not Again!
Film: Golmaal Again!
Producer & Director: Rohit Shetty
Writer(s): Rohit Shetty (Story)
Yunus Sajawal (Screenplay)
Sajid-Farhad (Dialogues)
Rating: 0/3 - Worst Movie!
Rohit Shetty usually has flying cars in his movies, which makes the masses entertain throughout the film, but this time he comes with a feeble-minded and dim-witted horror comedy "Golmaal Again". It starts and ends with it's beautiful locales and terrific cinematography, which is eye-filling and not to forget it's slapstick dialogues that are penned by Sajid-Farhad. First of all there are a few horror films made in bollywood but this one being made by Rohit Shetty and that too having comedy in it as a whole is indecorous.
Briefly the plot revolves around five orphan friends, a librarian and few other men help a spirit seek revenge from her beau who killed her and her father for seizing an orphanage.
"Iss Diwali No Logic, Only Magic", with this phrase story writer Rohit Shetty has taken the liberty to exaggerate his inner thoughts of making a mindless blockbuster with Yunus Sajawal as his screenwriter in the film. I've got only two words for this kind of a screenplay: pathetic and balderdash.
Now taking about our hero, Ajay Devgn who has a preternatural entry by standing on two cars. Well the others have also had such kind of a cliché entry that make it clap-worthy for the masses. He and the others except for Sanjay Mishra have delivered average performances. Sanjay Mishra acts well in this film with his "G-S-T GHOST" kind of witty dialogues.
Comprehensively this skeptical film will make the masses rolling in the aisles for it's chaffing discourse and trivial opulent canvas.
I'm going with zero out of three, watch it if you're a mindless entertainer adherent.
Secret Superstar (2017)
Great Movie
Film: Secret Superstar
Writer & Director: Advait Chandan
Producer: Aamir Khan
Rating: 3/3
Advait Chandan's witty, melodramatic, musical drama "Secret Superstar" focuses on a teenage girl who wishes to become a singing sensation, in spite of having numerous hurdles in her life. Zaira who plays Insia, a wannabe singer is always being pushed back because of her father's conservative mindset. The film shows how she purposely tries to reach success.
Debutante Advait Chandan has written a beautiful, lovely and meaningful screenplay which amuses me for about two and a half hours. Story actually seems to be usual, but after the second climax it doesn't. It completely makes you feel like Insia. The way the girl feels depressed because of her arrogant father makes you narky. Advait's direction is also praise-worthy. He has handled the film with utmost care.
Aamir Khan who plays the role of Shakti Kumar, a funny and substandard music director is nice. He will always be there to tickle your funny bone.
Comprehensively, I've actually got no words to say for this pleasurable musical drama. Just go and watch this film, I guarantee you that you would come out of the theater with a smile. Thank you.
Judwaa 2 (2017)
Judwaa Rebooted.
Trying to create the same magic after 20 years, David Dhawan makes a disaster known as Judwaa 2 which stars his son Varun Dhawan in a double role.
David Dhawan directing a film after 3 years and that too a remake of one of his own films which was a hit in 1997 seemed to be exciting before it's release but eventually it lands up becoming a mindless entertainer.
Sachin Khedekar who plays the role of a father of twin sons who helps the police to catch a smuggler, gets in trouble when that smuggler takes one of his twin and keeps him on the railway track. But that child is saved as his brother turns on the right side and as they both have a reflex action the one on the railway track also turns. I laughed sarcastically at this scene and this same continues throughout the film and makes me get irritated.
The twins Raja and Prem are played by Varun Dhawan, his performance is like a toothache. Varun has delivered the same performance which was in Main Tera Hero. Varun's SRK mimicry is also preposterous.
Screenwiter Yunus Sajawal has written a horrible screenplay, which should be avoided these days. Actually I can't get it that even after 20 years, such kind of screenplays are written and are also accepted. The dialogues are penned by Sajid - Farhad which are partially funny, the dialogues like "Ammi jaan kaha karti thi.....", are contempt. Thus by writing such screenplays and creating no logic makes the Indian audience's mentality the same as it was 20 years before.
If I take a film like The Terminator (1984) as an example, that was written and directed by Cameron and was really nice. But in 2009 he made Avatar which was also good but better than his previous films. That happened because he didn't try to create the same magic. Over here the writers have written the same cliché screenplay and the director has directed in the same manner which makes me bored. In one of the scenes while diffusing a bomb Raja says that he should cut the red wire as red was lucky for him. This scene makes me completely baffled and later becomes terribly annoying. Thus the screenplay and direction lacks innovation.
Something that I liked in the film is Ayananka Bose's cinematography, which is top-notch. The frames are really impressive. Also the editing goes well.
I really don't get one thing that what are actors like Pavan Malhotra and Sachin Khedekar doing in such a film? Such great actors in such a film! I really didn't like it.
Comprehensively, this cynical film has a lot of funny scenes that make you laugh for no reason as it's a film which makes no sense. I'm going with one out of five stars.
RATING: 1/5
Newton (2017)
Newton - A Cult Film
3.5/4 (***1/2)
Voting is essential in this world. Every vote counts and a single vote can make a big difference. And this is very well illustrated by Amit V Masurkar, the co - writer and director of his second directorial film 'Newton'.
Newton follows the story of Newton Kumar (Rajkummar Rao), an honest and well educated government clerk, who is sent on election duty in a rural area in the jungles of Chhattisgarh. Things get complicated when the villagers don't know the importance of voting and how to vote on an electronic machine. Thus Newton deeply tries to explain them about it. But the villagers think that voting is not that important, as it doesn't make a difference for them. So, everything becomes a mess for Newton as he is honest and doesn't want anyone to vote for any politician unknowingly. What happens next makes you engaged with Newton's problems.
Rajkumar Rao, the film's protagonist, amuses the audience with his role of an honest man who is proud of being honest but how his pride of honesty disappears and makes him bring up a change that isn't possible for someone to get it within a day. Raghubir Yadav plays the role Loknath, also a government clerk who is suffering from diabetes and cracks funny jokes that seem to be impressive towards the audience. Anjali Patil as Malko who tries to help Newton for his work has done a good job. Pankaj Tripathi as Aatma Singh, a military man who with his army men gives Newton and others protection in the jungle. His performance is all right.
Amit V Masurkar's proficient direction makes people understand that a single vote can make a big difference and also about how honest people are being treated in this country. He has written the screenplay of the film along with Mayank Tewari, and both of them taken up a good topic to portray. There are a lot of funny scenes that tickles your funny bone and entertains you throughout the film. So both the writers have intended target audience for the film. The film's technical aspects are appropriate. Background score and music of the film is nice.
So, this light-hearted depiction of honesty and voting is a guaranteed one time watch.
Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017)
A Shubh Review for SMS
3/4(***)
Bollywood is famous for masala films. But now talking about examples of rare films, SMS is one of them.
The plot revolves around Mudit Sharma (Ayushmann Khurrana) a young, middle class working boy who falls in love with Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar), but because of his shy attitude he never confronts his feelings thus he sends her a proposal on a matrimonial website. After a little here and there both fall in love with each other. Now things take a turn when Sugandha discovers that Mudit is suffering from impotence. What happens next is a series of laughter and giggling that makes you entertain throughout the film.
Ayushmann's performance as a shy guy is really impressive. He has always portrayed his acting skills well in all of his films. His love interest in the film that is played by Bhumi, must say that she also deserves appreciation for role.
The film is not a satirical comedy, it actually depicts how do men in India react after they realize that they are suffering from impotence and how shy they feel while discussing these topics in front of their close one's. In one of the scenes Khurrana explains Bhumi his problem with the help of a biscuit which really seems to be an innovative way of telling someone your personal problems.
Hitesh Kewalya has written a delightful screenplay, with loads of humorous dialogues and a few emotional scenes. So the writing goes well with the film. He has written the script in such a way that without having a single dirty joke or just talking about the problem freely is missing and that is what is loved.
R. S. Prasanna, the captain of the ship has a good style of narrating the film and unfolding the story of the film. So, we can say that that director has become successful in making a masterpiece.
Thus, SMS will make you cry out of laughter and show you something that needs to be paid attention.
Mom (2017)
Mom - A Film For Youth And Parents!

Thus, Devki tries to seek revenge from them. Will she accomplish her task or no?
2. STORY AND SCRIPT: Film's script and story is penned by Ravi Udyawar, Kona Venkat Rao, and Girish Kohli is good, but the film's climax could have been improvised.
3. PERFORMANCES: Sridevi's performance is worth a watch. Nawaz and Akshaye's performance is nice.
4. DIRECTION AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS: Direction by Ravi Udyawar is good, he has depicted the film very well. Music, Cinematography, and Editing is also good.
5. BOX - OFFICE VERDICT: Made on a budget of 400 million, this film has chances of recovering it's budget.
6. RATING: Because of the film's good screenplay and direction, I'll give it 3/4.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

Eventually Raj also goes to Punjab. Simran and Kuljeet's(Parmeet Sethi) marriage is fixed. Simran meets Raj in Punjab and both of them unite. AT the railway station Kuljeet gets some of his friends to beat up Raj. Thus Raj and Others get into a nasty fight.Raj beats up everyone, All the other family members including Simran arrive at the station. Will Baldev let Simran become Raj's bride or No?
Story, Screenplay and Additional Dialogues penned by Aditya Chopra is outstanding. Truly the script is a masterpiece. Dialogues penned by Javed Siddiqui is as good as the story and screenplay, even his work deserves appreciation.
SRK AND Kajol's performance in this is award winning. Rest of the cast has also done a fine job. All the expressions are portrayed in an appropriate manner.
Direction by Mr. Aditya Chopra is FLAWLESS. His narrative style gives an good impression on the film. The other technical aspects also deserve appreciation.
RATING: 3.5/4
Befikre (2016)
Befikre - A Trend Breaking Film.
1. SUMMARY: Dharam Gulati (Ranveer Singh) moves to Paris to become a stand-up comedian. There he meets Shyra (Vaani Kapoor), a French tourist guide brought up in Paris by Punjabi parents, in a party. He parties with her and both hookup with each other the same night. Dharam and Shyra now enter a live-in relationship and start giving crazy dares to each other. But their relationship doesn't last long and they both breakup. After one year of their breakup they befriend each other. Now Dharam starts dating Christine (Julie Ordon), a French girl whereas Shyra dates Aney (Armaan Ralhan), an investment banker. Aney proposes Shyra for marriage wherein Shyra accepts the proposal. Seeing Shyra making plans for marriage, Dharam too decides to marry Christine, also they (Dharam and Shyra) both decide to marry on the same date. But one day before the marriage Dharam tells Shyra the truth that he isn't ready for marriage. Thus Shyra tells Dharam to break the marriage. During the conversation both start developing love for each other. Will Dharam and Shyra reconcile their love relationship or no?
2. STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES: Story and Screenplay penned by Aditya Chopra is usual, he has an ability to write a script better than this because his previous film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi's script was invited to be included in the Margaret Herrick Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, just a day after its release. Sharat Katariya penned the Dialogues for Befikre which were as usual as the film's Story and Screenplay. Overall the the film's script could have been improvised by Mr. Aditya Chopra who is the captain of the ship named "Befikre".
3. PERFORMANCES: Ranveer Singh's performance in this film was good. He is not only the lead actor of the movie but also the second captain of the ship named "Befikre", whereas Vaani Kapoor's acting fails to entertain the audience.
4. DIRECTION AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS: Direction by Mr. Aditya Chopra is good, he has visualized the script really well and has created good vision for the young audience to make them understand the concept that "LOVE IS A DARE" which is also an instrumental song in the film. But as mentioned before, such a concept wasn't well digested by all types of audience; the film grasped it's attention only towards the youth. Songs by Vishal-Shekhar and Background Score by Mikey McCleary is really amazing. Cinematography by Kaname Onoyama is fine whereas editing by National Award winner Namrata Rao is very sharp and clear. Overall, the film's direction and technical aspects are appropriate.
5. BOX - OFFICE VERDICT: As this film has released during currency demonetization in India and due to the film's vulgarity and intimate scenes this movie has less chances of doing break-even point business for YRF. Befikre has a budget of 70 crore and such a film cannot be profitable for the distributors but as the film's producers and distributor is Aditya Chopra this film may recover it's cost through satellite and various other rights. Thus Befikre is definitely not a box-office "Hit" but only a "Below Average" or a "Flop".
6. RATING: Because of the film's usual script and unnecessary intimate scenes I'll give it 2/4.
Tubelight (2017)
Tubelight - A Huge Disaster after Sultan.
1. SUMMARY: Laxman Singh Bisht (Salman Khan) a good-hearted person, keeps faith in himself that his brother Bharat Singh Bisht (Sohail Khan) will return alive from the 1962 Sino-Indian war. Will Laxman's faith bring his brother back alive?
2. STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES: Story and Screenplay penned by Kabir and Khan and co-written by Parveez Shaika is pathetic. The audience fails to digest such a script, however the dialogues in the this film are good.
3. PERFORMANCES: Salman Khan's performance is worth a watch. The rest of the cast has also done a good job.
4. DIRECTION AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS: After a few huge hits Kabir Khan has directed a torture due to the films weak narrative style. Songs by Pritam are good whereas Background Score by Julius Packiam wasn't as good as the songs. Cinematography by Aseem Mishra and Editing by Rameshwar S. Bhagat had to be improvised.
5. BOX OFFICE VERDICT: Made on a budget of 100 crore this film can gross around 130-150 crore nett at the box office due to it's negative WOM. Overall Kabir Khan could make a Blockbuster but has ended up making just a Hit, that too only because of Salman Khan's star power, i.e. the film will gross above 100 crore only because of Salman Khan's star power.
6. RATING: Beacuase of the film's horrible script I'll give it 0.5/4.
Naam Shabana (2017)
Naam Shabana - The First Bollywood Prequel.
1. SUMMARY: Jai (Taher Shabbir Mithaiwala) is killed by some goons who were teasing his girlfriend Shabana Khan (Taapsee Pannu). Later an unknown caller Ranvir Singh (Manoj Bajpayee), who works in a secret intelligence agency offers Shabana a deal by calling her to help avenge Jai's death, which in turn she would have to join their agency. Shabana agrees and gets the goon murdered. Shabana then starts working with the agency and is now offered a task to assassinate an international arms dealer Mikhail (Prithviraj Sukumaran). Will she the accomplish the task or no?
2. STORY, SCREENPLAY&DIALOGUES: The film has an average plot. However the screenplay in the first half his really amazing. All dialogues are fine. Overall the script could have written much better by Neeraj Pandey.
3. PERFORMANCES: Taapsee Pannu's acting in this film is good but not as a good as the performance which she delivered in PINK. Akshay Kumar's cameo is worth a watch.
4. DIRECTION AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS: After delivering 3 films which were "BOX OFFICE DISASTERS" director Shivam Nair has proved that he can do something really good. Songs by Rochak Kohli and Meet Bros and Background Score by Sanjoy Chowdhury is okay. Cinematography by Sudheer Palsane Editing by Deepak Seju is reasonably good.
5. BOX - OFFICE VERDICT: Made on a budget of 33 crore, the film will definitely be a AVERAGE OR BELOW AVERAGE grosser at the box office.
6. RATINGS: Because of the film's mediocre script and boring songs I'll give it 2.5/4.
Raabta (2017)
RAABTA - A Disastrous Reincarnation Plot.

Eventually, Saira also realizes the fact that she is also reincarnated. Now what happens next, will Saira marry Zakir and leave Shiv? or will she betray Zakir and stay with Shiv?
2. STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES: Story, screenplay and dialogues seem to be good in the first half of the film but becomes a big disaster in the second half for the audience. Overall writers, Siddharth-Garima can to much better than this.
3.PERFORMANCES: Sushant and Kriti's performance in the film was mediocre whereas Jim's acting deserves good appreciation.
4. DIRECTION AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS: After producing a few films, Dinesh Vijan has made his directorial debut. His narrative style in this film is not bad, but he has an ability to make a film better than this. Music by JAM8 and Background score by Sachin-Jigar is really amazing, Cinematography by Martin Preiss and Editing by A. Sreekar Prasad and Huzefa Lokhandwala is reasonably good.
5. BOX - OFFICE VERDICT: Raabta has a total budget of 50 crore which seems to be impossible for the film to be a Box-Office "Hit", but has a few chances to recover's cost. Overall, this film is not at all profitable for the distributors but can recover their budget by satellite and various other rights.
6. RATING: Because of the film's weak script and poor hype, I'll give it 1.5/4.
Half Girlfriend (2017)
Half-Girlfriend - Same Old Concept.
Mohit Suri's Half-Girlfriend is a complete "FLOP". The film has a very slow pace and a disastrous second half. This film does not appeal to the audience. On the other hand, Arjun Kapoor's acting is fantastic. But his performance is not an AWARD WINNING performance. The music of the film plays an important role in the film. Without music many scenes of the movie will remain incomplete. Overall the movie will not get good critical acclaim, also this movie will fail to perform well at the box office. MY RATING: 1.5/4
