An error has ocurred. Please try againBeginning with normal people with normal lives in a country where violence and mayhem may seem like a distant matter. But with an INVASION in their lives, they have to face the brutality of existence with IMPOTENCE (I write INVASION with capital letters as I refer to it as a genre)
Note: Movies where animals got hurt or killed for real (cannibal holocaust, the isle, man behind the sun,...) don't deserve any spot on any list... Movies like Army of Darkness or Shawn of the Dead that don't have any kind of Scares or Tension are not on the list so don't bother bitching about it. And sorry for the fans of the classics but I don't think Carrie or Christine are scary at all.

Joker (2019)
An absolute masterpiece
A work of art depicting a psychological study of the downward spiral of the human mind into self-indulgence and self-pity maximizing the ego through omnipotent alter-ego fantasies blaming society and beloved ones of oneself's uselessness to achieve goals and dreams masquerading this fragil futility onto psychological instabity and sickness.
Livide (2011)
Gothic Horror at its Best
I really didn't know what to expect from this movie since I liked Inside (from the same directors) but I've always expressed it's not a movie for everyone (even though it's filled with deep substance), and the low IMDb rating (5,7 up to March 6th 2016).
I was surely expecting the beautiful scenery and photography due the artistic background of both directors, but what really amazed me was the dark Gothic turn the film transformed into.
Even tough I've always loved Dark Gothic Horror, I've been only able to enjoy it on music videos (Marilyn Manson's, Nine Inch Nails',...) and some video games (Silent Hill, Quake,...). IMHO Coppola's Dracula didn't deliver as a Scary Movie, Horror or Gothic Tale.
This is the first time in my lifetime I've been able to witness such a deep, artistic, scary, immersive, creepy Dark Gothic Horror movie.
Highly recommended to any kind of Horror Movie fans (which include Slasher, Monster, Shocking, Scary, Disturbing, Horror Tale, Found Footage, Privacy Invasion, Mystery, Beast and Crisis movie fans)
Don't Move (2013)
Great Horror
A low-budget independent film with some spectacular production standards and a well crafted concept. Well written, well produced and well executed. This is a top quality short movie with some production value and a very well directed mini-plot.
The 13 minute short "Don't Move" is actually better than the last dozen or so full length horror movies I've watched. The voices volume are kind of lowered in comparison to the score, but the sound effects live out one second to none which result in an excellent surrounding outcome.
A Ouija board can somehow be seen as cliché but nevertheless, this is one of the scariest short movies I have ever seen and believe me... I have seen a lot.
The Bucket List (2007)
Great cinematography!!! and that's it...
First of all don't get me wrong. I think director Rob Reiner did a pretty descent effort in the making of this film. The problem with these type of inspirational movies is that they always manage to depress because they make you think about life and how soon it's going to end. It doesn't advise, good or bad, on how to live your life for it makes the crucial point of not caring about money if you are to spend the best 6 months of your life thanks to your new billionaire friend. I don't really understand the IMDb rating on this one and I'm not gonna spoil it in case you're interested but if you think the film was great and I should get over the rating because 50,000 people voted and clearly my opinion is the minority, I let you with this quote from the film: "If life has taught me anything it's that 95 percent of the people are always wrong."
Barbazul (2012)
Excellent filmmaking!!!!
Beautiful photography, excellent scenery, complex character development with a perfect musical score fitting the storytelling, this was absolutely fantastic. A great story with unbelievable twists. A must-see for any Giallo, Mystery or Crime movies fan. Amy Hesketh's second movie delivers with everything expected. It's only her second movie and I can already see a great and promising career as a Director/Actress/Writer. My favorite detail was that among Barbazul's wives, you see every type of woman from a psychological point of view. The character development is very realistic. I'm already waiting for Amy Hesketh's next masterpiece.
