SRK is still king!
9 November 2007
Shah Rukh has a great track recording of releasing movies around Diwali and in the past they have all been hits, and judging by his latest home production, this one is going to do big business as well.

A couple of points to come out of this movie. First is the transformation in Shah Rukh's body. The guy seems to have worked real hard and the results are awesome. Second is the new heroine Deepika Padukone. She holds her ground well and delivers a top performance.

Arjun Rampal also puts in a good showing as a bad guy.

And the songs are awesome too. Watch for the number where everyone (except the Bachchan's) make an appearance.

You will love this one.

Salute to love - Quality viewing
17 January 2007
Salaam-E-Ishq tells an epic tale of six couples. Oblivious to one another and separated by miles of distance, they are tested by life's two eyes: Tribulation and Success. Yet somehow, through destiny and fate, these six couples are brought together by the phenomenon of love…

Shah Rukh may be the greatest start since Amitabh and Amir may be Bollywood's most authentic "actor/performer" but love him or hate him, Salman Khan has some magical element that no other ever has. His pairing with Priyanka is spot on....hopefully they do more projects together.

This is one long movie...goes over 3 hours but it is not laborous and if anything, it is needed to tell the tale of 6 couples coming together from different parts of the globe.

You would have to be mad to walk awaywith the feeling of contentment after watching this. Any movie that hasSalman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Sohail Khan,John Abraham and Vidya Balan will ensure a top viewing just by theirpresence alone. Nikhil Advani does a great job putting it all together.

The movie has everything...heart break and tears and laughter. John Abraham, Govinda and Akshay Khanna I'd have to say have given the performance of their careers. Vidaya Balan is not dolled up and the viewer can truly appreciate her acting talent here. Sohail Khan, while not having a major role, will make you laugh just with his facial expressions alone.

Guaranteed this one will have you back for more. Not a candy floss date movie but one to watch to really appreciate the good points of life and take some lessons out of it.

Rocky Balboa (2006)

Sly Floors The Rest!
25 December 2006
This would have to be the pick of the bunch and a fitting way to wrap up the Rocky saga. The script, acting and over all feel of the movie is spot on and one that Rocky fans of all ages will appreciate. Especially those that had to sit through the debacle that was Rocky V.

And of course the fight sequence between Stallone and Tarver is one to savour. It is a wonder that Stallone can still deliver and given the story line and context, packs more of a punch than the punch out between Rocky and Drago in Rocky IV.

Rocky Balboa is a must see and one to add to the DVD collection when released.

A Must See!
6 November 2006
This is one movie that leaves an impression on all its viewers. After 2 decades I can still recall my first impressions of watching this movie.

Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor teamed up to make a string of hit movies in the '80's and this one here would have to be the pick of the crop.

It's a roller coaster ride from start to finish, with plenty of thrills to go with it. A movie with a great cast, script, acting and soundtrack makes for a great night in.

Danny is at his prime and plays your cliché'd movie villain with his usual style and hams it up and really has fun getting into character. Jackie Shroff is competent in his role but the true star here is Anil Kapoor. The term "Adem Jhakass!!" was born out of his crazy character in the movie, "Junior" and from start to finish, Anil carries the movie.

If you come across the DVD for Yudh, BUY IT!

This is a must for any half decent collector of quality cinema.

SKR Still King!
22 October 2006
I'm not going to type up a whole list of positives about the movie. I think a lot of other people have already done that.

This movie, put simply, will just blow you away!

It's great to see Shah Rukh break away from his usual romantic roles to take on this project. If there was anyone in the movie industry that could have done justice to this role, it is Shah Rukh. Fitting that one legend takes off where the other left off.

The action sequences, script, cinematography, the Directorial efforts of Farhan Akhtar and the Divine screen presence of SRK makes this without a shadow of a doubt, the Marquee movie of 2006.

Dhoom 2 nd Hrithik have their work cut out..

SRK is still The Man!

SRK Steals The Show!
8 October 2006
I see that there already a few reviews but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in as well.

Given that the movie was done was in 1994, it's obvious to the viewer that Shah Rukh's star was on the rise. Despite the average hair cut and the negative nature of his role, he still delivers charisma and charm in the role.

Despite his immense success with romantic lead roles (Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai etc) it would be great to see SRK do more negative roles.

(The forthcoming Don will be a refreshing change).

Pathetic!
3 August 2006
Ageed, if it were not for Salman Khan, this movie would have driven me nuts.

The lead actress displayed all the acting ability of a tree and the hero was a jack ass! Aside from continuously grinning like a total fool, this guy just has no talent....I mean, there have been some real duds but this clown just takes the cake!!

Johnny Lever provides some much needed laughs at times but even the material that he is given starts to get thin after a while. Ranjeet and Prem Chopra are completely wasted as well.

Only worth seeing it for Salman, but the rest of it is just garbage!!
