Black. White. (2006)
So much for reality
It was boring from the beginning. It's not really a challenge if you know you can just take the make-up off and be yourself whenever you want. If it had been more like Black Like Me and they were stuck in their new race maybe they'd have felt a challenge. Got worse when, out of boredom, I took my phone out and searched IMDB and Wikipedia to find out the white family is primarily made of actors. If this were to be a real show it should have been two middle class families, with no acting in their life, using their real names and real professions... I'm glad it only cost me .50 at a pawn shop. Then again, it wasn't even worth the .50
The Wonderful World of Disney: Selma, Lord, Selma (1999)
Dramatic Interpretation
Another movie making up stories and changing fact for dramatic effect. I was liking the movie seeing it as fiction based on fact but when you change the way someone truly died, that's disrespectful and disgusting. I'm not keeping this film in my collection.
Rosewood (1997)
Some things need to be kept real
What makes me made about based on true story movies is when they make someone survive who died in the even. I researched Rosewood and saw that Sylvester Carrier was found with his mother Sarah, dead. Sylvester Carrier didn't magically survive the mob who shot up and burned his house down to ride the fictional character's horse at the right moment so he, the fictional character, could get off the train. That made me go from liking the movie to getting rid of it. If they ever redid the story I hope the keep the facts straight and maybe include that The Wright Family weren't the only one saving black people during the riot.
