Am Ende kommen Touristen (2007)
First movie about modern Europeans and the Holocaust
This film has no clichés, which is amazing considering its subject has had a thousand examinations ,but never from the view of people who it plays little roles in their life.
It is a great examination of the still strained relationship of Germany and the rest of European and the dominate role Germany plays in the EU economy.
Stuble and fun until the tourist come. You will understand if you get to see this great film I saw it at TIFF.
The crowds were extremely ethusiastic about the film
Director and writer reveals that it is semi auto biographical at a Q and A at TIFF
King Kong (2005)
Kong the ultimate wife abuser
I am always amazed how this story is depicted as a "love" story.
King Kong is the ultimate wife batterer. He "fall in love with" Anne by beating her up and kills anyone who comes close to his women.
Jack Black as a producer allows the director and writer to channel their hatred against all the hack producers they have had to deal with Since the story is so stupid it is all about the special effect and those are fantastic but with film coming in at 3 hours it is at least a hour long.
Naomi watts is beautiful and has a knack for comedy This things will make a boodle of money but must be seen on the big screen
A History of Violence (2005)
Rip off of Geena Davis film
This film is a complete rip-off of the Genna Davis box office flop The Long Kiss Goodnight. Expect that she has amnesia. The plot is the same and slow unrevealing of their similar backgrounds makes for a good examination of the keeping of secrets.
Cronenberg must have seen the filming of TLKG as it was shot around Toronto in 1991 and he has incorporated some of the best aspects and wasn't handicapped with minus 20 degree temp.
Superior acting by Viggo Mortensen make this film a must see, even if it is an unaccredited copy.
Not enough action for action lovers and too much for date movie
