The Fall Guy (2024)
Really Really Awful
The people giving this disaster a high rating must've:
A) Been paid off or
B) Never seen the show
If you are a fan of the original series, don't even watch this movie. You'll cry. The whole plot is a mess. And the characters aren't in the right places.
1) Jodi and Colt were never a couple
2) Gail was a bail bondswoman, not a villain.
3) Jodi would have known Colt was on a mission, as she was his right hand (wo)man.
At least they used the correct truck, a GMC Sierra, not a Cyber Truck or Prius.
On top of everything, the movie is more focused on a love story than the stunts and action sequences.
I left the theater pissed and let down. I should have known.
If you manage to put yourself through the pain and watch this through the credits, you get to see a Lee Majors and Heather Thomas cameo. Ooof... The producers must've dug them from their graves. Yeah It's that bad.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Very disappointed
While I thought the acting was pretty good. Despite its flaws. Like getting anywhere near a forest fire that intense without proper gear. You'd die of smoke long before getting burned. I can't see AJ playing in the woods, let alone being a fire fighter. It still held my attention...until the end. Suffice it to say, the movie just...ended. No questions answered or reasons given or anything. Just fade away to credits. What information did Connor have that was worth dying for? His dad was brutally killed, so it must've been important. Nope. Nothing.
I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in the theatre. I would've been pissed. However, it'd be nice if HBO reimbursed me for my time.
The Leftovers (2014)
What a terrible soap opera.
I was really intrigued by the subject matter. However, by the fifth episode, you get tired of the whinny miserable police chief. And what's with the GR cult? They are miserable pricks. They don't talk and they chain smoke. Is the audience supposed to feel bad when one of them gets brutally murdered after they've terrorized the town? It turns out that one of the members is the police chief's wife. She walked off and joined this cult after "the event" for no explainable reason. Now she's a real b!tch to anyone who comes near her.
It's a terrible show. It's supposed to take place 3yrs after "the event". THREE FRICKIN YEARS! By now, people would have begun to try to return to somewhat normal life.
Every single person is nasty and hateful toward each other. It's like watching an hour's worth of snowflake liberals fight and argue with no resolve.
Last Night in Soho (2021)
Worth a watch
The cinematography was incredible. And the acting superb.
IMO. The story fell flat a bit. Just some important details that seemed to be forgotten as the story unfolded.
Malignant (2021)
Excellent horror
Yes it lived up to the hype. No overused jump scares to "sell" the story. Perfect pacing to keep the viewer engaged.
This is way horror movies should be made. Well done JW.", Well done. 👏
Black Widow (2021)
Giving it a 5 simply because.....
Someone needs to give Florence Pugh her own action movie. She was great and funny as hell. Even David Harbour added some comedy. Those two pretty much carried the movie.
Otherwise this movie is a solid 0.
Woke culture strikes again and Scarlet Johansson can't act her way out of a paper bag.
Outer Range (2022)
I want 8hrs of my life back
What a HUGE COLOSSAL MASSIVE letdown. It's like a big black hole opened up where my life should have been. Think Lost wrapped up in one season.
Absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing is ever explained or answered.
Hopefully Josh Brolin keeps this off his resume.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Garbage. Total garbage.
WTF did I just watch?? Chloe should be ashamed of being in this movie. I understand it was meant to be a sci-fi adventure. Once we find out she smuggled a baby in the box, the whole story goes to hell.
The ending was so bad, I was rooting for the evil creature to do something amazing.
But no. We get Chloe, sitting on a log breastfeeding a baby, watching a WW2 bomber burn.
Yes you read that right.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BOOKS
No show or movie ever follows the books. Not even GoT...... page for page.
So don't expect this show to be any different.
If you approach this version as a stand alone, you'll enjoy it much more.
I'm a huge fan of fantasy novels and cinema. This checks all the boxes for me. The character development is paced just right. And in-depth enough to keep you engaged.
Maybe I'm simple minded, but I'm here with popcorn enjoying the show.
Old (2021)
A tad on the slow side
It had a very interesting ending. The beach aging explanation felt a little half-hearted. Like it was rushed to fit into the time slot. But the storyline overall was cool. It tidy up at the end.
For those of you saying this was a flop for M. Night, need to watch The Visit. There's a movie he wishes didn't exist.
Blockers (2018)
Horrible
Words cannot describe how bad this movie is. The mother was so whiny and selfish it completely ruined the movie. And John Cena can't act is way out of a paper bag.
Come True (2020)
Please read this 1st
If you can't stand slow movies, don't bother with this one. I dinged a star because the movie could have been about 15 minutes shorter.
Did some people miss the last 10 seconds of the movie? Like, right before the fade to credits? It explains everything.
You've got to have an imagination. It jumps between reality and dreams. It's up to you to figure that out.
Please remember: Canadian cinema doesn't have the the money/power that Hollywood does. I think they do great movies on a smaller budget.
Wicked Minds (2003)
Glad I didn't pay for this
The whole setup was fantastic. The twist was awesome.
Then there was the ending....oh the ending.... SMDH.
Ruined an otherwise great movie.
Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
What a convoluted mess.
I watched the entire season hoping it would get better, it didn't.
Lily Rabe isn't the right actress for the part IMO. She isn't graceful enough to be believable. In one scene she tried to be physically aggressive, but it came off as clumsy.
Too many unanswered questions to really care. Without the slightest hint, they just went on to the next episode in a totally different direction.
Annihilation (2018)
Missed opportunity
The visuals were awesome. It could have been so much more. But the story / plot got bogged down by political correctness.
Utopia (2020)
One of the worst of 2020
I didn't watch the original so this is a blind viewing.
How, in all that is holy, did this get a green light during a REAL PANDEMIC ??
Don't waste your time
I made it through episode 2 and had enough. The main characters that I was interested in seeing were killed by then. Yes you read that right. By the second episode only 3, yes 3 of the original characters are still alive.
You don't get to see anybody evolve through adventure or mystery.
Absentia (2017)
Season 1 was all I could handle
Spoilers abound!
By the end of the season, I was so tired of Nick treating her like dirt, I was hoping he would get killed.
So you rescue your wife (and mother of your child), that has been missing for 6 years, under strange and questionable circumstances. You decide, these odd murders that keep showing up, you're not going to question the weird "evidence" against her, says she committed the crime.
Never once did he stop and think "hey, maybe she's being setup" or "hmmm Maybe we should be looking for the person that kidnapped and tortured her.. He or she might have something to do with it."
The rest of the story was pretty intriguing. The whodunit reveal was cool. But Nick ruined the show for me.
El hoyo (2019)
A religious tale? Possibly.
The kitchen is heaven and the guy tasting everything is God. He is providing everything humanity needs to survive and be content. However, humans are flawed and they only look out for themselves. If everyone took only what they needed there would've been enough food to reach the bottom. When the woman tried to explain this she was laughed at and mocked.
At the end, the girl was the message. She was clean and innocent. When she was returned to heaven, God would know that someone was willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of humanity.
Just my thoughts.
I'm giving this a 9/10. The gluttony and gore is a bit much on a weak stomach.
Time Trap (2017)
The ending...SMDH
For me it was the ending that made this movie awful. I like time travel movies and this had an interesting premise. They could have shortened the cave scenes and extended the ending by a few minutes.
Stasis (2017)
Geez Guys. It's not that bad .
I've seen much much worse. Try tuning into the Comet Channel sometime.
Yes. It was a low budget B movie. Even so, the acting wasn't terrible.
It needed more action. I think that's what everybody's hang up is. That's not the actors fault, but the writers.
If you like dystopian future movies, it's free on Netflix. This is worthy of a watch.
A Kind of Murder (2016)
A good watch on Netflix.....knocked two points because it's so slooow
Those who gave really negative reviews, did you actually watch the movie? Or pay attention?
None of the events are real. He's a writer. You are watching the story he's typing. There are hints throughout the entire movie. Like every time it shows him sitting at the type writer. Read the words he is typing. It's a dead giveaway at the end, the final scene he types "The End"
I will admit that the movie is painfully slow. Like watching paint dry, slow. There's just not enough action. I found myself getting bored and my mind wandering easily. Still, I got enough of it to figure out it's his book.
What Happened to Monday (2017)
One Glaring Story Problem
I'm giving this a 5 because Noomi Rapace does a great job acting as all seven sisters. From a sex craving freak to a meek nerd.
HOWEVER, The big question is.....
Why didn't they just have different hairstyles and dye their hair? In fact two of them did! And then wore wigs. DUH. Their father showed he could manipulate the bracelets early on. The girls could have easily lived among society without worry. Thus avoiding all the pain and anguish.
2:22 (2017)
Thought provoking
Why are there so many negative reviews about this movie? Did people not watch it? It explained everything at the end.
If you enjoyed Age of Adeline, you'll like this one too. It's a bit slow, but hang in there.
2 thumbs up.
