Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011)
Why oh Why
This has got to be one of the worst movies ever made. After watching Dhobi Ghat and Band Baja Baraat, I thought that maybe Bollywood was finally growing up. But no. There is still an abundance of this mindless nonsense.
Zero Plot. Zero acting skill. Slap stick jokes that feel like a slap to the face. And to top it all off, a waste of one of the acting greats Anupam Kher (No not Dharmendar. After this movie, Dharmendar can no longer be considered any where in the league of the acting greats).
While other actors have redefined themselves (See Amitabh, Mithun), Dharmendar remains convinced that the childish antics of his hey days still appeal to audiences. Sunny Deol might as well apply for the award for "least subtle self proclaimed superman". People just bounce off him like flubber. The other actors seem to be content playing shadow roles and riding on the expectation that audiences will just show up at theaters because of the big names. The sad part is, if you look at box office numbers, this seems to be working.
The movie adds nothing and takes away whatever time you spend watching it. Avoid at all costs.
Aisha (2010)
Mind numbing nonsense
The less said about this movie the better. But I have to add 10 lines so here goes. The movie is as shallow as the characters. Every plot element is completely predictable. And this makes it even more frustrating. You find that each and every stereotype is played out. The characters do not do anything to make you relate with them. The lead characters (Aisha) acting makes you cringe every time she opens her mouth. The only thing that that was not completely useless in this movie was the acting of the person who played Shefali.
I would have to nominate this as the worst movie of the year. Of the decade even.
28 Weeks Later (2007)
Stupidest movie ever
After 28 days later, I got this movie with great excitement. I could not continue watching after the first half hour. The movie is so bad, I registered just to rate this down. Can't believe how this movie has gotten a 7+ rating on IMDb.
It almost seems like the movie makers had no clue as to how to move the plot forward. A whole country has been wiped out. 28 weeks later you're allowing civilians back!!!. Not only that, you've got the whole place guarded like it was a school backyard. All it takes is for one person to get in touch with infected blood, which hasn't been cleaned up right across the bridge to bring it all back. OK, moving on you find a survivor. You even see signs that she has been in contact with the infected. So she's so isolated that anyone can get access to her. No guards, no security.
OK lets get past the stupidity of the administration. What's with the guy trying to justify saving his own life!!! And you can see the fake judging look on the kids from the outset trying to forebode the mothers return. I mean come on!!! So now his wife's been found in the infected zone. What's the first thing I do. I go kiss her. Oh now I'm not afraid to get infected anymore. OK so next what. You got all these people in, and have no evacuation plan!!! Noooo. We just start killing people randomly. I just couldn't go past that point. The movie just got too ridiculous.
Awful!! Awful!! Awful!!
