Non mi uccidere (2021)
Poor
Quite awful. Hour and thirty that seemed much longer. Kept waiting for it to improve but sadly it did not. Big fan of the zombie genre but this had no story, poor plot, awful characters and needless sex scenes. I gave it 2 marks for the soundtrack (film 0/10)
Unforgotten: Episode #4.6 (2021)
Broken
This show is beautifully written and the intricate storylines always come together perfectly. But. I was not expecting this. I am in absolute pieces. The last ten minutes were heartbreaking. Sunnys words were moving and perfect. I just wish Cassie could have got her happy retirement, she deserved that. Well
Done to everyone involved.
It's a Sin (2021)
Heartbreaking
Cannot praise this enough. Superb writing and a cast that made the whole thing come to life with such amazing and beautiful emotion. I am totally bereft now, haven't cried this much over a tv show in a long while. Absolutely brilliant.
Moonlight (2016)
Ok .....
It was watchable but how it beat Hacksaw Ridge for the Oscar is beyond me. Average story, cliched but well acted.
Schitt$ Creek (2015)
Superb !!
This has been the highlight of my TV viewing ever! From start to finish I cannot fault it in any way. It ended perfectly and although it was tough to say goodbye I know everyone will be ok! I know these people, I care about them, I love them. I will miss them. Thank you Dan Levy.
Normal People (2020)
I wanted to like this but ....
... sadly I did not. Pros: scenery, direction, soundtrack. Cons: needed subtitles, painfully slow, too many sex scenes.
Paul Mescal was simply wonderful, (Star of the Future, ) difficult to picture him as 18 years old at first but his acting range and whole emotional performance got me over this. I didn't really like Marianne at all.... was I supposed to? I didn't 'get her' ?
Having never read the book I was persuaded by friends who had, and raved about it. I definitely think it was aimed at a younger age group than myself (50s)
As for the ending I actually shouted at the TV it fizzled. Shame. Don't hate me for the low score I'm sure the younger audience lapped it up. Not me.
Criminal Minds: And in the End (2020)
Disappointed
I've watched every episode and for me this was one of the weakest. The fact it was the final one makes it worse! Half the episode was dedicated to Penelope, and this has made me quite cross!! It would seem Kirsten co wrote the episode so I'm guessing that's why. Reid suddenly gets ill then miraculously better, Lynch story was poorly ended, and what about Dave retiring. Seriously the mans had enough! What happened to JJ and Will, did they move? As my Nan would say 'twaddle'. So many questions, and not good ones in a cliff hangery kinda way!
The New Pope: Episode #1.9 (2020)
Wow!!
One of the most magical and beautiful pieces of TV I've ever watched. The whole cast were magnificent. John Malkovich, Silvio Orlando and Jude Law were simply mesmerising. I will miss it but I hope this is the end. It was perfect. Perfetto.
The Drop (2014)
Brilliant
Tom Hardy, James Gandolfini and a dog! What's not to like. A great story that kept me guessing to the end. Superb cast.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Unpopular opinion but I liked it ....
It seems to be trendy now to slag of GOT. The ending was never going to please everyone but seriously some people need to chill out! Everyone ended up where they should be. Dany needed to die after the bloodshed and Jon needed to be the one to kill her. Sansa is queen, of the north, but still queen. Bran, well I didn't see that coming but I kinda like it Bran the Broken. Arya is still wandering. Cersei is dead. Jon is reunited with Ghost. The Starks survived, they won the Game of Thrones. Can we all just be happy for the pleasure it has given us over the last 10 years. I am!!
