Another Life (2019)
What a disappointment
I really don't know where to start since I had hoped we all would have a solid sci-fi show in the same vein as Altered Carbon or The Expanse. But after watching five episodes I am thoroughly disappointed.
I really thought Katee Sackhoff would pull this one off but she is only human and can not overcome this terrible script and adolescent overplayed drama.
I plan on watching the last five episodes but my expectations are virtually zero.
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Absolutely Amazed and Impressed
So when a person like myself who is not a comic con fanatic and is absolutely amazed and Impressed with this series. It speaks volumes for the creator and artists. They did just a superb job directed for adult content IMO.
I look forward to their future endeavors and season 2. Netflix has a winner in this summer TV series.
Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox (2018)
Excellent series that pose many questions with honesty
I stumbled upon this show by accident and was impressed with the content. Megan Fox does a commendable job as a novice and amateur investigating and providing alternative ideas into the past.
Many of the suppositions are provided by archaeologists and other scholars who have challenged main stream interpretations of past events.
Mars (2016)
Not very inspiring or educational
I watched the first season of mars and rated it a 7. However, the second season has devolved into a climate political, boring spectacle. National Geographic really turned my interest off in the 2nd season when they played the climate card. They had the chance to present a good science series on Mars and failed horribly.
The Terror (2018)
Absolutely a great drama/thriller/sci-fi noir
Absolutely a great drama/thriller/sci-fi noir. I would have rated it a 10 except for the ending which was perfectly fine, although I thought it could have been better..
Just proves that great series can be produced with a solid cast and a well written script based from the novel.
Don't miss this one, you will regret it if you do.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
excellent movie the current IMDb rating of 6.7 is a travesty
Valerian is an excellent movie and the current IMDb rating of 6.7 is a travesty in my opinion.
Sure everyone is entitled to their opinion when viewing a movie but any true sci-fi enthusiast would not have serious problems with this movie.
Makes a person wonder if the sci-fi hating trolls have inundated IMDb with any venture to turn people off.
My impression was that this movie had moments that were visually different than Avatar and certainly a better script. Adventure is the core concept of the movie, along with some romance and survival.
Check it out for yourself once it goes to blu ray. My only gripe about the production was related to marketing. The Production company did a poor job in mass marketing it before it went to theatres.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Looks like the sci-fi hating trolls have invaded Star Trek Discovery
I didn't really expect much when I heard that Star Trek Discovery was being made by CBS. I figured it would be dumbed down for the audiences.
However, I admit being dead wrong. This series is great and has improved with each episode. CBS has a great cast and the scripts are intertwined from one episode to the next.
A pity this show is only rated 7.3 on IMDb, it looks like the sci-fi hating trolls have invaded Star Trek Discovery.
Sic-Fi is a tough niche to tackle when it comes to series. But Discovery along with ' The Expanse ' are the two best sci-fi series that have been produced in a long time.
American Horror Story: Election Night (2017)
Another bad attempt by the crazed political crowd attempting to stereotype
American Horror Story was great when Jessica Lange was on board. But they have tilted so far to the LEFT it is a puke stained festival.
Bad stereotypical script and poor acting will be the demise of AHS
No way will this show last another two years.
When you become boring and political left or right the masses will leave
American Gods (2017)
Boring and vastly over-rated
So my take on any series is that you give it some time to unwrap if it is a slow buildup to the storyline. But his series was touted as the next game of thrones and I find that comparison hilarious.
G.O.T started out tense from episode one and has continued strong for every season like no other series on TV.
Maybe it is Gaiman's style of writing I find unappealing. I admit I am no fan of his books but I have read other books that were converted into TV series and I was not fond of the author but the TV series were great.
Sorry, fans of Gaiman, I give this series (1) star and I was generous.
Legion (2017)
Can it get any worse?
Sorry fans, I really did attempt to give this show a chance. When you go eight episodes into a TV series, you shouldn't be bored or be questioning what is going on in the TV series.
From episode 1-8 I still have no clue to what the author or screenwriter is attempting to portray. Usually, a viewer will have a good idea by episode eight.
But this TV series is so fragmented and convoluted it takes the joy out of spending 8 hours of view time.
Not sure if people are attempting to be funny by rating this series a ten but it wouldn't surprise me.
The Expanse (2015)
The Expanse is what Sci Fi Fans have yearned for years
' The Expanse ' is what Sci-fi fans have yearned for years. The storyline and script are great in that it doesn't over-reach and commits to rational possibilities that could confront humanity in the next century as humanity expands into the galaxy.
Major kudos to the producers and staff who have created the greatest sci-fi series of all-time.
