Deewane Huye Paagal (2005)
I don't get the hate for this movie.
Movies like this are absolute gem of comedy genre. This movie should be in hall of fame of comedy movies of Bollywood. Back in those days comedy movies were actual funny now we are missing these movies.
I digress coming to the movie.
I used to watch this movie every time it came on TV when I was kid. This is absolutely hilarious and not even a single comic element felt cheap.
Story is also pretty amazing.
Acting by Akshay and Sunil Shetty was top notch Paresh Rawal was also okay but Akshay & Sunil Shetty overshadowed every other actor with their brilliant performance.
Shahid was relatively new comer in those days so he was Okay in my opinion. But I would say he was not at his prime while doing this movie.
Those who haven't watched it I request them to watch it once. This is an absolutely amazing movie.
Aspirants (2021)
Great story with not so great love story.
Don't get me wrong but I never found chemistry between Abhilash and Dhairya strong enough. I get that he was frustrated with result of his last attempt but I don't get his hate for Dhairya. Also story of SK was left incomplete.
I think he needed a bit more closure, we are never shown his journey from aspirant to a teacher. I think he is left behind a little bit in the story of Abhilash and Dhairya.
Perhaps one more episode would have filled that void.
Character of Sandeep was absolutely amazing.
It had all the elements of what the life truly is.
Overall it's a good series and is must watch for everyone.
Mannat (2020)
Great heart touching story.
The story is about a lady who desperately wants a child but cannot conceive the child because of some biological problems. So, in order to conceive by some miracle, she follows a ritual of praying for a child to banyan tree.
According to ritual the first person to pray in front of banyan tree in morning gets his/her wish fulfilled.
But somehow another girl reaches to banyan tree before that lady could.
The lady tries to reach before that girl but she couldn't. But one day she sees that she was the first one to reach banyan tree and started wondering why that girl has not come today.
On following to the girl's house she witnesses something that changes her life forever.
24 (2016)
Wasted opportunity but refreshing to watch.
I had some high hopes with 24 (2016). But I was disappointed with it.
I was expecting some paradoxes in the movie, some sort of predestined event that was inevitable, but nothing was there to wow.
Perhaps happy ending made it bit boring. Could have been certainly better. Character of Sathya (Played by Samantha) felt useless and that character had little to no major affect on storyline.
The reason for rivalry between the Brothers (Athreya & Shiva Kumar) is not mentioned in the movie.
I expected more from this movie especially with Time Travel concept.
Movie is average just because concept is new doesn't make it any better.
My rating would be 6.5.
Inferno (2016)
Description should be "inspired from" not "based on" Inferno by Dan Brown.
Where to start? Whole movie is messed up.
The movie is good but stating that it's based on INFERNO novel made it worse.
People expections are high when they go to see movie after reading book.
The casting for Provost & Beartron Zobrist were awful especially of Provost.
There are lots of alterations that makes it from being in Awe to Meh.
The element of surprise is altered heavily, they opened the suspense of vector virus far sooner than I expected & the virus was never actually saved but in movie it was saved.
As a stand-alone movie it is good but after reading book I was highly disappointed with it.
If you have read the book don't watch it with high hopes.
I didn't like the character played of Provost by Irrfan Khan. Provost in book was calm and smart but movie he felt dumb at times.
Till date I think Da Vinci Code was the most accurate adaptation of Dan Brown.
The Invisible Man (2020)
Great premise but vague story.
The motives of the antagonist were purely vague.
I don't understand why would someone be that dumb to not check CCTV footage at restaurants to back Cecile claims.
I also don't understand why Adrian's brother would do something that impulsive to his brother & his brother's wife.
Yes, the antagonist is Adrian's brother, and I somehow feel that Adrian was indeed innocent and Cecile didn't wanna accept that.
Or perhaps lack of back story was missing to see things from Cecile's perspective, I mean what Adrian actually did to Cecile?
The suit was amazing, using optics technology for suit was a brilliant idea.
The movie just wanted to show an amazing optics technology of suit nothing else.
The Da Vinci Code (2006)
Story felt bit rushed.
The story felt bit rushed, though the complete adoption would have made it lengthy. But I would have preferred 3-4 hours long movie like Lord of The Rings.
The decoding skills didn't seem impressive but instead encoder seemed dumb while rushing through decoding various symbols.
The chemistry between Robert Langdon and Sophie Nevau felt lagging.
The actor who played Vernet (Bank President) was worst in the whole movie.
The character of Sophie Neveu felt shallow.
But I liked the variation of the movie at climax compared to Novel.
Overall it's a good adoption of book but as said earlier I would have preferred longer duration movie like Lord of The Rings.
Ittefaq (2017)
Bit Cliché for keen watchers.
Warning: Big Spoilers ahead.
Please don't read I am warning you...............................................!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK,
The movie is good but not great by any means.
I always had a feeling that Vikram ( played by Sidharth Malhotra ) is indeed the real killer.
At first I thought I am just being over analyst but, as I thought the climax was exactly like that.
I became more suspicious when Dev ( played by Akshaye Khanna ) said
"There are three stories to this case one by Maya, second by Vikram, and third the truth."
It struck me with the fact that my intuition can be right.
Same type of story is also portrayed in Zid movie. But that didn't got limelight mainly because of not so famous casting.
But this movies is also good and is must watch if you're bored with Masala Bollywood movies.
Fun Fact: This movies don't have any songs, so you won't feel that the movie is just 90 minutes long (approximately).
Back to the Future Part III (1990)
This part felt unnecessary.
Story could have ended in Back To The Future Part II, by not failing in returning to future (1985) This part felt unnecessary. The movie was good but I am not satisfied with the story lineup.
Story felt bit exaggerated.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Not satisfied with Time Travel logic.
Movie is good no second thoughts about it, but it is far from being great. I felt little disappointed for how Marvel handled Time Travel in Endgame. There's eventually no cause and effect phenomenon in this movie. One can do what ever they want in past and still nothing gets affected in current (future timeline). Nebula kills her pastself but current Nebula should also have erased from existence, but we didn't see that.
Overall it's good but time travel could have been depicted differently.
Characters literally messed a lot with past self still there was no consequence. Thor brought Mjolnir with him in future leaving no weapon for past Thor.
If Tony stole that Teseract then Fury would never have got access to Tesseract but that too doesn't seem to have any affect on current timeline.
Disappointed with time travel philosophy of Endgame.
And story felt bit not too much but bit exaggerated. Movie could have been shortened by 20 minutes easily.
There were several scenes which felt unnecessary and several scenes were not showed, like how Thanos was able to bring whole army to current timeline if Nebula took only one tube of Pym Particle.
The action sequences are great and VFX is just amazing. I didn't find any problems in CGI.
It great but still it doesn't deserve 10/10.
Aquaman (2018)
Just like in Movie. Aquaman is a saviour of DCEU.
I was expecting it to be mediocre but man!!!!!! It's way better than my expectations.
Not sure why critics always remains biased towards Marvel. I have watched it on BluRay after watching Captain Marvel in Theatre. And Aquaman was way better than Captain Marvel IMI. Don't know why critics have hard feelings towards Aquaman.
I liked the visuals and CGI of the movie.
Metacritics score clearly shows they are Marvel bias.
Rotten Tomato Captain marvel controversy also shows that critics are slowly being Marvel Bias.
Captain Marvel (2019)
This time Mavel did Mediocre.
To my surprise the movie was surprisingly a let down.
Maybe we are expecting too much with MCU, but I gotta say that end credit scene made it worth.
The overall storyline is plain and the full potential of Captain Marvel's power is still bit ambiguous to me.
Don't expect too much from it. Overall it's a mediocre movie, just because it's in continuity before endgame, that's the only reason why you should go to watch it.
OtherLife (2017)
Could have been great.
The concept was good but the movie fails to keep the audience engaged.
I am very patient watcher. I have watched many of the movie that others found boring. But this one is too much too bear.
I don't know why but the plot wasn't good & I literally didn't understood what happened with her brother in the end.
Stree (2018)
90% comedy 10% horror.
Let me tell you my honest opinion. This movie is more like a comedy film rather than Horror.
The scary reactions from lead actors was more funny than dreadful.
The movie is good but certainly not great. The storyline was somewhat predictable especially Shraddha Kapoor is not really a ghost (too predictable). But still it was good.
The acting from lead actors was good & was well suited for the role.
The movie has some elements of horror but not much. Considering the movie was based on real incident it's obvious for Bollywood to have some added masala content. The songs of movie are good & not many so it doesn't hinders the flow of storyline.
Yes the movie is good & certainly worth watch & YOU CAN WATCH IT WITH PARENTS (which is quite rare nowadays)
Thugs of Hindostan (2018)
Too predictable & cliche storyline.
The movie starts with story of Zafeera's (Fatima) loss of parents.
The movie proceeds with Firangi (Aamir) as conman who cons everybody to get his profit.
The storyline is too predictable, if you watch lot of movies you'll be able to guess almost every plot twist.
I was able to guess almost 90% of twist (which I don't even consider as twist).
Surprisingly Surraiya played by Katrina acted better than Fatima. Yes I am not kidding. The performance by Aamir in this movie is a huge let down.
The Amitabh was the saviour of this movie as his character in the movie.
It's better to not talk about VFX. Even Assassins Creed Black Flag had more realistic shipwrecks than this.
Choreography was hideous I don't know what type of dance was that in Suraiyya
It's not worth watching.
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002)
One of the most realistic & inspiring Animated Movie.
This movie is about a Wild Horse who is living in Cimarron and is the leader of the herd. The story is about the struggle of SPIRIT who shows indomitable spirit for his freedom. He also makes new friend during his journey.
The good point about this movie is that Horses don't speak (unlike other animated movies), the emotions & gestures are quite good in convincing the conversation between Horses.
Overall it's a great movie with good message of not giving up in the toughest of the situation.
Story: 9/10
Music: 9/10 (Hans Zimmer & Bryan Adam has dono a tremendous job)
Screenplay:9/10
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Great attempt by Marvel.
The story of movie is very intriguing & to be honest unpredictable (which is very rare nowadays) But the movie has some odd things like, (Wakanda the most powerful nation) is fighting without any machine guns looks a bit odd.
But I am not here to tell the story.
The movie is great and has prefectly depicted the emotions of the characters. There are various emotional instances in the film which makes you feel sad about them.
A must watch for a Marvel FAN even a DCEU fan should watch it.
As usual like other Marvel movie suffers from soundtrack.
Dhadkan (2000)
Way better than other 2000s classic.
I watched this movie on TV. The acting of Sunil Shetty is very good & convincing, Akshay was OK. Watch it for Sunil Shetty. Back in 2000 actors usually suffer from overacting problems but Sunil Shetty is too good even when compared to today's standard.
