Kulüp (2021)
A very successful drama
First and foremost, it's a film about the people of Istanbul, eternally cosmopolitan city, cradle of civilisations.
Leading figures of the drama, from different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds are striving to keep up all together a music-hall threatened by the so called modernisation...
Acting is excellent, particularly leading actors and actresses are perfect. Music, songs also are very interesting and excellent. Ladino (old Spanish Jewish) songs should not be missed. Turbulent times of Turkey in the 50's are reflected on the background.
In spite of the melancholy, it's a film about survival, about hope...
Six Minutes to Midnight (2020)
Disappointing
Awful scenario, dull production, big disappointment for a talented cast. I cannot understand how Judi Dench accepted to be part of a such bad production.
Hadi Be Oglum (2018)
An awful film
Except Kivanc Tatlitug's good acting, a highly mediocre film. The script is awful. It is difficult to understand the making of such a silly and boring film when Turkish cinema produces a large variety of good films one after the other. Good reviews and high ratings given above have been probably written by people related with the production of this very film.
The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (2018)
Big deception
Wonderful beginning with beautiful setting, powerful cast, captivating connection with the classical story and then later on lost in script. What was the aim? Total confusion related to scenario, unnecessary, absurd and long dialogues to make even time to time talented artists acting like in a primary school show. What a waste.
