Christmas on the Farm (2021)
Sweet, light-hearted rom com
Made me laugh and left me smiling. That's all I need from a movie. I love the low-angst drama-free movies that are easy to watch. Didn't cringe once, thankfully.
The acting was good. Poppy Montgomery and Hugh Sheridan are always wonderful and I loved the little girl she did an amazing job.
As someone who has lived rural in Australia the spider gave me flashbacks to childhood. I have never been bitten by a yabby when swimming in a dam but it was hilarious nonetheless.
The story was original and I had plenty of laugh out loud moments. The scenery was beautiful but you expect that from outback Australia.
The People We Hate at the Wedding (2022)
Give it a go
If you don't like a lot of drama and are looking for something to watch and make you laugh, then this movie is for you. It's a light-hearted comedy not a cinematic masterpiece, so ignore the haters and give it a go with an open mind. It's no where near as bad as they are making it out to be. If people are looking for award winning movies every time they watch something just to get their jolly's by bagging and hating on everything else, they don't really get what entertainment is about. The acting is great and it's visually appealing. I laughed, I teared up, and the ending made me smile. There were a lot of reviews mentioning sexual aspects of the movie, not quite sure why. Sex is a natural part of life. People should try to remember that sex and relationships are experienced differently for everyone, and however you decide to experience it is your normal.
Resident Alien (2021)
Amazing!
I love a good comedy. Really hoping it lasts more than 1 season.
Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments (2016)
Ended too soon
This show is visually stunning, I have rewatched several times since it ended now. Really wish they had done another couple of seasons.
Surviving Death (2021)
All down hill from episode 1
Great first episode and then the medium crap started. Couldn't watch the rest of the third episode when it started with more unbelievable medium nonsense. I can't see how anyone would take these people seriously. It's a shame you didn't stick to NDEs.
The Goldbergs (2013)
Great family show.
My children are generally in their rooms alone but the second I put Goldberg's on and turn up the volume they all emerge. iPads go away and we all laugh together on the couch. This is a good wholesome show for the whole family, which is a rarity nowadays. It even holds the attention of my 5 year old.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (2020)
Don't get all the bad reviews
Definitely isn't like the original but no where near as bad as people are making out. Give it a go without thinking it is a sequel to the original series and you will enjoy it. I hope they renew for Season 2, we need new shows to watch during isolation.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019)
Can you say severe neurotoxicity? 😂
This movie was hilarious. It held the attention of my distractable 5 year old and my older kids loved it too. It really is a great movie for all the family! Pleasantly surprised by how great this movie is and the main actress was contagiously happy, just like Dora.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)
Writers yay, Sabrina nay
I really like this series but it is let down by some terrible acting. I listen (rather than watch) scenes with Sabrina in them to avoid her melodramatic facial expressions. Someone needs to pay for a really good acting coach to fix the problem. Overall I like the story lines, season 3 had a bit too much going on but I would still like to see a season 4.
Veronica Mars (2004)
Bitterly disappointed with Season 4
Won't be back for Season 5. Season 3 was crap and thought season 4 might be the start of something but then they ruined it in the last 10 minutes. Hope he was written out because he had a better offer from another show and not just a crappy choice by the writers.
