My Perfect Romance (2018)
Sorry for people involved, but this movie is hurtful to society!
Understanding that a lot of people´s hard work has gone into this, and probably with some sort of commitment and excitement, I am truly sorry to say that this movie simply highlights all the negative stereotypes in society...Even though you don´t expect a sort of ¨food for thought¨ film given the plot, there are always good opportunities to make good values shine.
Secondly, working in software companies I see that little effort has been made to really show how these business operate (again, probably not a concern given the plot), and also slightly offended by the ¨rich people¨stereotypes.
All in all, even for a low budget movie I think a consultant on business, etiquette/high society manners, and a good writer for dialogues would´ve been a good investment!
Some of the actors were good though, shoutout to the main couple and the secretary.
The Only Living Boy in New York (2017)
Beautiful film
The story has depth, comes to show that there are always two sides to every story. Very moving, also stylish, sweet, touching...Soul Food.
Find some of the reviews quite disappointing as they just show the shallow appreciation of some people; hopefully other people reading reviews will realise this and give the film a chance.
Side note, in reply to another review suggesting some sort of anachronism in the film: I am in my mid-thirties and I still listen to Simon&Garfunkel very often :)
Austenland (2013)
Great little comedy
The movie has great actors and I really enjoyed watching it. In fact, after I finished I went through it again quickly to see exactly how the 'resident Mr.Darcy'had acted out since the beginning.
Although somewhat predictable (like most romantic comedies), I was expecting a twist at the end but I wouldn't have guessed what it turned out to be.
The only thing that I did hope for at the end is for Jane Seymour's character to say the way she treated Jane was all part of an act, she was a total b**** to Jane all along! Even though Jane is supposed to be a client!
Anyway, take this movie as what it is...a modern day romantic comedy not to be taken too seriously but very delightful. Well done!
The Longest Week (2014)
Quite Good...but one thing spoils it!
I really enjoy movies where they give a peep into the high-class world, however i find it really annoying when not done properly.
For example, in this case the main character, born into 'old money' and hence probably well educated, speaks while eating at the table with his fork in the air making gestures. Apart from that, you might have almost believed his character. It might seem a small detail but I find it very disturbing.
