What the Hell?

This show needed to be about a despicable drunk and a dweeby leech.

The funny flowers of TAAHM grew from that fetid garden.

I LOVE how everyone is complaining about FG overstereotyping Millennials.

Sounds like someone needs a safe space.

FG over stereotypes EVERY social group known. Period. Jeez.

Frankly, I agree that most Millennials (like my daughter) are awesome and productive. Now; if EVERYONE can learn to laugh at themselves a little bit, we'll do just fine.

I welcome the influx of digital modernity as fodder for SMF's brand of humor.

The shoe's on the other foot, sometimes. So go for a little walk.

(that last bit was rough for me; the 'f**t'-word is one of my triggers)

10 stars at first and well... I split the difference

1) I'm a pretty woke, 50ish monogamist but what is everyone crying about, vis-a-vis the 'immorality' of the show?!?!

We're not watching TAAHM to find love and Godliness; we're here to see a despicable trainwreck. In all it's despiseable inglory.

So shut down the revival. Jeez.

2) I appreciate AK's work, but it doesn't work here. This show has always required a thinly bearable dirtbag. Period.

Remember, JH was a commander (silver oak leaf) in the US Navy by the time of his equally fictional EAOS.

I have NO idea how he got THAT done and be so young but -hey- that's Hollywood.

Only ONE sitcom oversight in the genius
2 August 2019
Okay:

Two and a half women. Good. Fine. Deals with addiction pretty well. Great Faris and Janney prove their genius. Yeah! Ungrateful preggo daughter. O-kaaaay...

Here's the HUGE oversight; other than an actually FUNNY French Stewart, everyone forgot to have solidly, uniquely funny supporting characters.

Look at every truly funny sitcom; we watch for the others! Frasier is one of my abs FAVORITE, but I almost despise the Frasier character. DHP, JL, PG and especially John Mahoney make the show. M*A*S*H, Cheers, 2.5 Men, Taxi, E L Raymond, Home Improvement, Seinfeld (whose 4 mains are terrible peeps, really) and blah de blah de blah.

Janney and Faris are both incredibly awesome and have some serious star power and comedic chops but they have the super majority of funny thrust upon their collective shoulders.

Lorre or someone dropped that ball.

Hart cheese aside, quite the episode

David McCallum and Tippi Hedren?!?! WTF? Love it. As said before, they really rocked the 'wild' animals. Tippi with her bird references and McCallum just being there... He was sooo ever-busy career-wise.

My normal complaint; why isn't Jennifer dirtied-up and wielding a gun, like a gutter Emma Peel?!?!

The World may never know...

A show with a place in my Hart

Suspend some disbelief and enjoy. Sometimes corny, sometimes contrived but it is almost always worth an hour of your idle time. Thank god they didn't go with the first option for leading man. Whew. RJ is perfect and pairs well with the over-qualified(wiki this) SP.

That being said, SP sometimes doesn't know what to do with the physicality of some scenes but that is because they script her like a part-time hothouse flower. She should have been allowed to be tougher with a gun in her hand; a little more Emma Peel, after being involved in countless murder cases. Jeez.

Anyway, I watched as a preteen for its OG run and that is a bit like the way I do now.

Great fun.

(P. S. I am amazed that RJ and Christopher Walken were going through the Natalie Wood drowning 'case', smack dab in the middle of the HtH series run. Wow.)

Just probably the best comedy mystery I've seen in 20 years. The bullet-removal scene is genius. McAdams and Bateman simply rock.

I'm Convinced

So, prior to this moment, Captain America was my absolute LEAST favorite superhero in the entire genre and in every conceivable medium. I thought of the protagonist as boring and two-dimensional at best. From the 40s? Silly shield? Strong, fast and very resilient was just -somehow- not enough for me.

Well; slap my mouth shut.

This movie won me way over. Chris Evans brings him right into 4D. The action -unlike the sickening majority of action flicks- is top notch AND followable! No shaky cameras and early, choppy cutaways; we get to see every delicious moment. And the storyline is solid and compelling.

The main character is portrayed by potentially the least famous person in the central cast and he totally carries the movie. It should be noted that only 4 years after CA:TWS, Robert Redford called it quits on his incredible acting career. Those of you who are unfamiliar with this filmagraphic icon should look him up. The fact that this script compelled his contribution should speak volumes.

Well Done.
