This movie which I own on VHS is really not that bad as some have stated. Sure it could of been made better IF they had a bigger budget but overall the action and story are quite entertaining. Of course this movie is a lot better IF one drinks a bottle of fine wine FIRST and then gets into the movie.. I still enjoyed it and hope it will be available on DVD and in a 5.1 Surround sound....this a a " B" Science Fiction film not at all in the same league as WAR OF THE WORLD'S or THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL but give it a chance and you just might find it quite enjoyable as I did.

About Five years before the ANDROMEDA STRAIN, came THE Satan BUG, a Biological thriller with a stellar cast and background music that set the mood for a tense, exciting almost end of the world movie that I also HOPE gets its reward to remastered to DVD so others may enjoy this Classic from 1965. The cast is excellent with George Maharis, Richard Basehart, Anne Francis and Dana Andrews -this thriller is non stop action and suspense and MGM just Has to release it on DVD! Its a Movie I have watched many many times and shared it with friends whom also found it to be one of those " unheard of gems" and I hope more people will catch it and maybe, just maybe MGM will finally put this beaity to DVD with lots of Extras and maybe even a 5.1 Surround sound mode! If anyone knows if this is out anywhere in DVD or plans to put it to DVD I would love to know!

The 27th Day was a REAL find for me as I saw it first many years ago and thanks to the Internet I was able to get a VHS Copy for my collection and I truly treasure it. I Love the Atmosphere in this Black & White Sci Fi Drama and though there really is no

" spectacular" special effects the story and the Characters make this a thrilling and quite entertaining movie. My HOPE is that this " Gem" gets released on DVD and they Digitally remaster it , add some extras and it will be a very nice addition to anyone's Classic Sci Fi Films of the 50's. If Anyone knows WHEN this Movie might get released to DVD I would love to know as the copy I have is not the best and I would love a Uncut, no commercial copy of THE 27th DAY !
