Días de Navidad (2019)
Slow burnt but worth the wait.
For those familiar with Spanish acting will know that this is series is an ensemble cast of some of the finest Spanish actors. The four leads in the final episode are pure Spanish acting royalty.
The show is a slow burnt until the final episode where everything is revealed and which contains the best acting of n the show with dramatic and funny moments in equal measure. Highly recommended.
Las chicas del cable (2017)
Actually the music is the link btw the 1920's and 2017
I have read some reviews complaining about the music. I actually think that the music is what links the series to our times. Many of the themes are still current; domestic violence, gender un-equality, gender stereotypes, etc. I truly enjoy the series, all a surprise for me. I am usually quite critical with productions coming out from my country. I find the acting extremely good, especially of the 3 veteran actors Concha Velasco, Simón Andreu and Kiti Mánver, the latter a recurrent in Almodóvar movies. I agree that it can be a bit over the top at times, but in general I love the characters the scrip and the photography. I hope more productions like this keep coming from Spain.
