LOVE IT!!! 🤣
3 September 2023
Absolutely brilliant. Laugh your a__ off funny.

These two ladies are so brilliant and so talented in so many different ways... I don't even know where to start. All I know is I can't wait until they release the next show!

I know they're British, so probably not that likely to do a US tour, but I sure hope they do! I will so be there!

One note, there are a number of "F-bombs" that are sprinkled here and there throughout the show. But it's not overused, and generally it's timed so well that it just elicits lots of laughter. I hope that won't put you off. Give it a go and listen to at least the first two or three songs, you won't regret it!

I had hoped for SO much more!
14 June 2023
I admit that I watched this movie mostly because of Cybill Shepherd and James Brolin. Despite the varying reviews, I had hoped that perhaps it was one of those diamond in the rough films that only people who appreciate independent or more unusual films would like. Unfortunately, this is a movie that moves very slowly, and in the end is not at all satisfying.

For me, the main problem was that Cybill Shepherd seems to have forgotten how to act. I've seen her in other things, and really enjoyed her.

In this, however, she shows hardly any emotion whatsoever. Most of the time she has a completely blank expression on her face. And because she is the main character, I found it very hard to get into the story at all. I don't know if it's how she was directed or what.

In any case, my advice is to steer clear of this one.

Well done! One of the better Xmas romances!
13 December 2022
I just finished watching this, and I was just so pleasantly surprised! The story, the performances, the locations... It all comes together seamlessly. Sure it's a bit predictable, as so many of these types of movies are. But there's something about it, maybe it's the performances from the actors, I don't know, but there's something about it that feels fresh. There is a lot about it that makes it very relevant, not just with the biracial romance, but also the main character's best friend being in a gay marriage. None of it feels like you're being hit over the head with these things, and it felt very realistic. I could easily watch this one again! If you want some light enjoyable seasonal fun, watch this!

Happy Holidays!

A W F U L ! ! ! Not much else to say!

Don't waste your time.

If you love gory killing scenes, you might enjoy it. - Might.

For the rest of you out there... those of you who actually require a decent plot, as well as believable acting... I suggest you skip it. Believe me, you have better things to do with two hours! Blech. 😝 I'd give this 0 stars if it were an option. (Why isn't it an option, IMDB???)

  • Julia Stiles, how could you be a part of this pointless, terrible movie?!?!?! You can do better- WAY BETTER! Get a new agent, like yesterday!

Can't believe you made this thing. What a waste.

You're too talented for crap like this!!!

Good fluffy fun
9 September 2022
I like this flick. Yes, it's predictable. But the actors gave it all they had, & it works well enough. Not everything has to be an Oscar winner, you know? Sometimes you just want something light and fun to relax with and take your mind off of life. This is one of those kinds of movies.

The only thing I didn't like was a very obvious time filler in the middle. The scene in the shop where the girls are trying on clothes. Been there, done that. "Pretty woman" sound familiar?

I would rather have had some more scenes with their families or even just the couple themselves getting to know each other rather than yet another scene in a clothing store. It doesn't take away from the movie, it's just boring. At least it doesn't last too long. Other than that, it was fun.

Can't wait for season 2!! Very fun & keeps you on the edge of your seat!

SO glad I stumbled onto this! Both my husband & I loved it! (And we're in our 50s, fyi) It really grabbed us from the very first minute. The writing is good, there are twists all along the way, and the characters are very layered, -tho they start out as your generic one note characters, little by little we get to see them 3-d.

The acting is top-notch, and the special effects are splendid (love those purple clouds!) If you enjoy time-travel stories, you'll like this!!!

We only just finished it, & I'm wondering how long before the next season comes out. Oy, it's gonna be hard to wait!

--Btw, we also enjoyed "The Wilds"; & are crossing our fingers somebody picks it up!

Why canceled? Plz someone pick it up!!!
28 August 2022
My husband & I really enjoyed this series, & only recently discovered it. So we're upset it's not getting a third season. I wish there were a way us fans could vote for series that are (for whatever reason) being considered for cancellation. - If anyone out there is listening, please SAVE THIS SHOW!!!

Was it overly convoluted & unrealistic? Yes.

However it was also gripping & full of twists we didn't see coming, not to mention the fantastic performances.

We plowed through this one like there was no tomorrow. It was so easy to get absorbed in; a great escape from everyday life.

Please, some company out there PICK IT UP!!!!!!!!

Good performances; unrealistic plot
14 August 2022
Great actors but a plot (and ending in particular) that's totally unrealistic & unbelievable.

It is taut & tension-filled, but that ending... ugh.

However, the performances by all the leads make it worth a watch, especially if you're a fan of Lane, Costner, Manville, or Donovan.

Skip it.
30 July 2022
Not worth the $2.99 to rent it.

Started out well but got stupid fast. The main character (the husband) makes questionable choices, & there is the extreme violence. I found myself fast-forwarding through a LOT of violent scenes.

The usual instant wrap-up at the end was totally unbelievable. There are better films out there.

Surprisingly good! 👍🏼
12 June 2022
Funny & sweet. Good performances.

A tad predictable, yes, but it also veered off into surprising areas. Ok, it does get a little silly in the middle, but that doesn't last long. I teared up at the end!

Watch it! 😃

Way better than I expected!

Sure, it's a bit predictable, but it's better than many of the recent Hallmark flicks they churn out every year. The cast is excellent & the atmosphere draws you in.

Give it a look! 👍🏼

A+! A thorough web of complicated plot. Lots of well paced action & intricate relationships.

Sure, it's a bit convoluted, but it's entertainment, people! Just let go & enjoy the twists & turns.

Somebody Somewhere (2022– )

Funny, irreverent, moving. WONDERFUL!
5 March 2022
Update May 2023: I just LOVE this show! For one thing, it's truly original. There is nothing else like it and there never has been. The characters are like real people, they're multi dimensional. Sure, the humor is irreverent, that's Bridget. But there's so much realism in the show... at one moment, it's funny, the next sweet, the next it's raunchy, and the next...sad. - Every now & then Bridget sings, and shares with us that absolutely beautiful voice of hers.

I hope the show goes on for several more seasons, I look forward to it so much! A great, big bravo to the entire cast!

If you are familiar with Bridget Everett, then maybe I should start off with this show is not simply filled with her usual raunchy type of humor. Not that it's straight laced either, but I thought I'd just start off with that so that if there are some of you out there who are concerned that it's over the top with racy, sexy stuff, you needn't worry. Yes, it's sprinkled through the show here and there, but the show is about so much more than just that.

Everett does a fantastic job, whether she's being funny, serious, or showing off those fantastic pipes of hers. The rest of the cast is just as good. Especially the fellow that plays her best buddy, Joel. He is absolute perfection.

Basically it's about a woman who goes back to her hometown. And it's a small Kansas town. So it's basically a slice of middle America. Some of it is very fun, very lighthearted, while other parts of the plot are very serious and are treated as such.

I highly recommend this show and I know you'll love it too! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be very glad you watched it. And you'll soon be putting your review on here too, singing its praises, just like me. Enjoy!

P. S. It's already been renewed for a second season, and I can't wait! 😃

I couldn't turn it off! Enjoyable old-fashioned mystery.

I couldn't turn it off! Enjoyable old-fashioned mystery.

Is it perfect? No. There are some holes in the plot, and one extremely unbelievable plot twist concerning Kristen Bell's fictional daughter. But even so, I found it extremely enjoyable. I didn't intend to binge watch it, but I did!

To be honest, I think it should've been a movie, not a series. Although this obviously is setting it up for a second season, which I do hope they create. All in all, I'd say get yourself a glass of wine (red to be specific), pop some popcorn, and curl up on the sofa some evening and just dive in. You'll have a good time!

Not enough plot to keep me interested.
21 February 2022
It's like one of those movies based on a SNL skit.

There's simply not enough material for a full-length film.

I wanted to like it; the idea intrigued me. But I only got halfway through til boredom overtook me, & I turned it off.

Hated it. Kidman awful, direction (& script) worse.
30 January 2022
What a letdown.

Kidman is so far off base here; terribly miscast.

The direction is choppy & the pacing awkward.

Bardem isn't bad, but he couldn't save this disaster.

If you're a fan of Lucy or Desi, or the show, you'll hate this. It paints Lucy as a foul-mouthed "broad". Just skip it.

A+! Intense, moving, mesmerizing. A sad tale.
21 January 2022
If this had been released to theatres, Sandra Bullock would be up for another Oscar. What a truthful, stunning performance. If you're a fan of hers, see it for her performance alone.

I found this film intensely absorbing from the get-go. Not a second in it where I was bored or wishing the pace would pick up. Direction was spot on & all supporting roles were delivered well.

It's not a light tale, to be sure. And it shows the unhappy underbelly of Seattle (my hometown) in a bright light. However it's moving & draws you in, & isn't that what films are meant to do?

  • Bravo.

Simply AWFUL.
18 January 2022
I wanted to like it, the premise & cast were promising. I held on for a painful half hour but after that, I couldn't take it anymore! Not worth one more second of my time, and not worth one of yours either. Just so SO bad.

HOW is this thing getting awards?!?! Omg.
16 January 2022
What a weird, crazy film.

THERE IS NO PLOT! I kept waiting for the disconnected scenes to finally come together into a cohesive story, but they never did.

The only reason I can even somewhat recommend this is that it does transport you back to the'70s. The sets & costumes are spot on. And they even worked the gas shortage into the "story". So that was fun. Now, if they'd just edited it WAY better & actually had a plot, maybe I wouldn't have gotten BORED!

  • Btw, it's not necessary to see it in the theater; just stream it at home (or NOT).

Twists in every episode! But beware of "disturbing" images/ideas.
14 January 2022
I do love this series, let's get that straight to begin with. It's so creative and each episode goes into directions you simply do not expect. With these days of endless remakes, it's wonderful to happen upon something that is absolutely and unexpectedly original!

It is very much like a dark twilight zone, set in current times.

I don't want to give any spoilers. But I will say this... When there is a warning in the opening of an episode that says it will contain "disturbing images", they are serious! So if you are easily squeamish, I would avoid those episodes. Fortunately there aren't many of them, so you can go ahead and enjoy the rest without fear.

So now, stop reading and go watch it already!

Like a high school play. Amateurs!!!
7 January 2022
It's not terrible, but right off that tells you a lot.

It's an interesting idea, and in the right hands could perhaps have been a really great movie. However the script needed a lot of work. There was so little character development. For instance, in one of the early scenes, when the main character meets up with her sister, it's very awkward. Yet there is no explanation or backstory provided so that you understand what is going on between them. So you're left wondering why, and never given an answer.

In general, the plot is just too basic and too predictable.

The main problem however, is the bad acting.

I hate to say it so plainly, but that is without doubt the main problem with this film. Almost the entire cast feels like they pulled them out of their very first week of acting school. The older actors that play the parents are the only ones that are believable. As far as the main character goes, I really wonder how she got her role.

So all in all I truly can't recommend this movie.

So much crazy fun! Definitely a chick-flick, but SO well done, even my husband got addicted.

Wish it were still being made, but they did make good use of all possible plot lines. Jump in & enjoy!

Just Stupid
7 November 2021
Not even stupid enough to be funny.

I could tell within the first five minutes, after they take away her cell phone and she doesn't even ask how or when she can get it back.

Even so, given the cast, I tried to make it through, but fell asleep. Boring! Thus I definitely missed 20-30 minutes, (thank goodness). Woke up for the last half hour though, in time to see the silly conclusion.

The best thing in it is that beautiful old gothic house!

Depressing
13 October 2021
I watched 3 episodes. It draws you in, but the main character doesn't think things through.

I found her to be rather stupid.

Overall, it's a depressing look at life in poverty.

Not what I need during the pandemic!

LOL! Good 'ol FUN! & Yes, it's a comedy, NOT A HORROR!
7 May 2021
I thought this would be good, but it was even better than I expected! There are real laughs to be had in this one. There are a lot of pokes at former horror movies, which they work to their fullest advantage.

It does lag a little bit in the middle, but overall the plot kept me interested and the acting was great. This one is worth your time, and make sure not to skip the credits, because there are extras within. Have fun! 😄 Two thumbs up. 👍🏼 👍🏼
