Mappa never disappoints

Binged this as soon as I could. Wish there was more than 6 episodes. It's absolutely amazing, Lakeith Stanfield is awesome in everything he does so I was so happy to hear he'd be a part of this project. My only complaint is that it is only 6 episodes. WATCH THIS!

Beautiful, brutal samurai tale.
22 April 2021
Shigurui: death frenzy captivated me from the first episode. It's a slow burner, but every second is tense. The score is blended it to every aspect of it and sets the mood for every scene. I found myself having to rewind many times to understand the scene that goes by quickly, but the show rewards you paying attention. It's beautifully crafted and makes you feel like you're in ancient Japan. I don't know how this show isn't rated higher, maybe because it isn't your mainstream action packed anime. It is a mature, graphic and bloody tale that quite literally moves to the beat of its own drum. Yet it never lacks in pacing. If ghost of tsushima and basilisk ninja scrolls had a lovechild it would be this. 10/10.

Absolutely Incredible
15 April 2021
This anime is a gem of its generation, they don't make them like this anymore. Gungrave, black lagoon, samurai champloo, cowboy bebop, trigun etc. I could go on but it was the golden age in action anime. If you haven't seen this or any I mentioned do yourself a favour a treat yourself, because they are truly incredible. PS. Start with Gungrave.

It's pretty much a live anime.

It's real good. If it was an anime it would've gotten an 8.5 rating. Everything about it screams anime, even the way the characters look, it's a solid story line, with great SFX. Give it a chance it may just grow on you.

Vinland Saga (2019–2023)

Best Anime ever made. Period.
31 October 2020
Best anime ever made is a huge statement. But this isn't like your typical anime. This goes into history detail with epic action , incredible characters, emotional depth and top notch animation. Although there is no English dub version out. The sub version is sublime. The show stays true to the manga in every single way, and when you are done watching so yourself a favour and read the manga. You can pick up at chapter 26 where the anime left off. Yes, one piece is great, so is Fullmetal alchimest, death note, those are the legendary animes. But this one surpasses even them. A new classic. Vinland saga.

Ghost of Tsushima (2020 Video Game)
10/10
Whatever you're expectations are, it is better.

Got to play it early. All I have to say is, this games combat is the most satisfying combat I've ever played in any game. The game never drags, the pacing is amazing. Exceptional detail and a beautiful open world. Take the best things of Nioh, sekiro & assassins creed and you get ghost of tsushima. However comparing it to AC would be doing the game a great disservice. Finally, the perfect samurai game. Way to go sucker punch, a beautiful swan song exclusive for the end of an era, and the end of a beautiful console.

New best anime ... OF ALL TIME
25 March 2020
2018-2019 were great years for anime. I've watched every anime under the sun and at times the genre gets repetitive and childish. However this was NOT ONE. Previously my top 3 was definitely Death Note, FMA Brotherhood & Hunter x Hunter, This automatically jumps over those to become my new all time favourite. A must watch for any anime fan, and if you haven't seen anime at all, this would be an amazing place to start. Yes demon slayer and promised never land are good too... but Vinland, is the once in a generation show. Trust me.10/10 thorfinn forever !!

Season 3 as good as the first 2.
6 March 2020
This show is great. Specially for a English language based game adaptation anime. Rivals any big anime in my opinion and definitely Netflix's best original anime. The fighting scenes are really the best animation has to offer, it makes you rewind a couple times and say "wait , did he just really do that? Siiiiiick!" Definitely highly recommend for any anime lover of fan of the games.

BEST. ANIME. EVER.
10 February 2020
What to say about this show? Well first off the first season will intrigue you, the second will make you fall in love, the third you'll be like how the hell did I even get here and why, but I never want to leave, and fourth you'll be a member of the joestar family. Its truly a unique show that will charm anyone into a fan. There isn't much like it, but thats why it's so great.

Warcraft (2016)
7/10
I personally thought it was great!
13 January 2020
I think the risky choice of choosing Travis fimmel to play the main protagonist was a ballsy move that paid off. A much loved actor in Vikings and was missed when he exited the show, and producers of Warcraft took advantage. The movie stayed true to the game without bending too much, very fun movie. I would give a solid 7.5. Hope to see a sequel and more of Travis fimmel in the future!

Red dead Redemption the series

Great show, specially if you like westerns. Acting is great and the show intensifies more after every episode and a climactic ending. Beautiful mini series , I highly recommend.

Peaky Blinders (2013–2022)

New peaky just as great as the old.
12 December 2019
Most shows when getting picked up by Netflix after disappearing for a while don't have the same flare or charm it was that pulled people into the initial show. However that doesn't happen with peaky blinders. They brought back ALL the main and supporting actors, whilst upping the budget and adding a couple new big names. The writers and directors are the same so the show literally picks back up where it left off. Cillian Murphy goes right back to form as an amazing Tommy Shelby. Peaky Blinders is back and better than ever.

a new classic
18 November 2019
A new modern anime classic.. i had a hard time finding an anime i liked after i started off the genre by watching death note, then FMA Brotherhood. yes i set the bar high. until i saw Mob Psycho 100. its got action , comedy and definitely keeps you interested. superb storytelling and comedic value is on point never cheesy like other anime. DONT watch the live-action netflix adaptation though. Also, if you like MP100 i high'y recommend one punch man and jojo's bizarre adventure.

modern classic
11 October 2019
Breaking bad will go down as an all-time great. in a category of its own, iconic alongside GOT, Sopranos, The Wire. Television doesnt get much better than breaking bad. rewatched the series four times, and a fifth now before El Camino (which is excellent), and it gets better every time. a true masterpiece.

just as good as the books!
28 August 2019
So usually i will be very critical of TV adaptations of great book series' , however Justified definitely does the books justice (pun intended). Tim Olyphant does a spectacular job at portraying Raylan Givens, to the T i would say. Supporting cast members are great and memorable as well, specially Walt Goggins as Boys Crowder. One of the most interesting & love-to-love characters in recent TV. Great show from start to end.

Aquaman (2018)
3/10
Tacky & ridiculous but entertaining
14 May 2019
Look, I have refused to watch anything DC after what God awful direction they went ins after releasing the masterpiece Dark Knight trilogy. But after i gave Suicide Squad a chance because it peaked my interest (which was okay), I decided to give Aquaman a shot simply for the fact I wanted to see what an action movie shot underwater was like..

The movie is full of ridiculous scenes, cheesy writing, terrible acting & stupid one-liners. Honestly , the movie reminded me why Marvel is where it is, and why DC is the KMart version of superheroes. With every Yes-Man at DC studios that gives the thumbs up on movies like this just to rake in box office dollars is the reason why DC is slowly losing its legendary comic respect. The SFX is okay, the movie is colourful. It's entertaining if you can look past it's stupidity and put your brain on autopilot.
