Poor Things (2023)
Beautiful cinematography, story original, just weird
Beautiful Cinematography. Colors. Gorgeous. Emma stone's costumes. Stunning. The story is an original story about a pregnant woman who comments sucide. The man who finds her "god" puts the baby's brain in her head, and then we see her grow up in a grown woman's body. Which is very original but also a "thinker" if you really get over the "weirdness" of the film and actually think about the out come of something like that actually happening. It's a conversation starter for sure. But yes there is a lot of sex. A lot of her being naked... which I don't really get and fast forward through most of those scenes. But over all a beautiful movie.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022)
A great parody of someone's life
This movie. Weird al. Madonna being the villain. All the greats from the 80's. Actually have weird Al in the movie. JACK BLACK! Conan O'Brien (no words just as Andy Warhol). Like mind blown. Daniel Radcliffe does such an amazing job. Some of the jokes are in your face but some of the jokes are so subtle that you'll definitely need to watch again. Even Rachel wood as Madonna is everything. I was unsure about her role but she was amazing. Daniel Radcliffe was just spectacular to watch. He really brought the silliness in a great way to the screen. And actually seeing weird Al in the film just brought such a wholesomeness to it. It's just a random good "parody film about a guy who brings joy to so many people.
Davey & Jonesie's Locker (2024)
How delightfully silly!
Listen. If you don't care for giggles then do not watch this show! It has stuff for the smart kids. It has stuff for the silly kids. It has stuff for adults, like me, that enjoy the jokes written by someone from our generation. And that it's a joke about Davey Jones's locker?? Like come on. Pure gold. This is a show that is simply to enjoy. And I love a good multiverse scenario. The girls that play the main characters are just simply hilarious. And their chemistry plays well on screen. And the actress who play the principal... she is a force to be reckoned with. She is memorable without even being in every episode.
