The good reviews were obviously written by Netflix
15 January 2018
This serie is absolutely horrendous and it's a disgrace to compare it to Narcos or to other series about criminal underworld. This is worse than the worse telenovela, so predictable and so badly played by mediocre actors and absolutely ridiculous script writing... This is worse than a cartoon for buffoon who dream to become a drug dealer in a posh suburb of Moldavia! A pain to watch and a shame for Netlfix

Amazing Movie that was unnoticed
19 March 2011
In the like of Slumdog millionaire and the best of middle east and central Asia cinema, Tehroun shows us how it is possible to create a visual masterpiece,an emotionally moving story and having it played by unknown - but full of talents - improvised actors. This movie could easily compete in the largest festivals and should have won the Oscar for best foreign language film in 2010, it could have helped Iran and the Iranians in demonstrating the world that the large majority of them is not supporting its oppressive government and wish hard to be as open as civilizations in the west.

Give Tehroun a chance, you won't regret it!

True and Unique French sens of humor
19 November 2010
I give this movie a 10, because it is probably one of the last french movie that was made with a true scenario evolving around ... nothing, just following a poor family in north of France, and with absolutely brilliant dialogs. This has become a cult movie for an entire generation thanks to its dialogs and hundreds of cult quotes from all the actors. you can compare this with the traditional french movies from the 60s, 70s, with Jean Gabin, Louis de Funer, Bernard Blier etc....

Forget the movie which had a great success and even won a Cesar, the french academy award, few years ago, Les Chtis, also about the people from the north... if there is one french movie you must see to understand french sense of humor of the 80/90s generation, Les Demons de Jesus is surely the unique example to put on top of your list... you gotta understand french though, I'm not sure these quotes can be translated into any language and sound as funny !
