Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)
Terrible
What a terrible film on every level. Sums up everything wrong about steaming, Hollywood, and the movie industry today. Silly. Flimsy plot. Tries to be funny. Cringeworthy. Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Terrible
It's hard to convey in words just how terrible this film is, from the tone, writing, story, pretty much all of it. Not a patch on the first movie. It's hammy. It's cliche. It's farcical. It's terrible!
Sex Education: Episode 1 (2021)
Vulgar
Season 3 takes this series to a new low. Vulgarity is the lowest form of humour. The sex scenes are gratuitous and the visual equivalent of hyperbole. If this disgusting series needs to resort to graphic sex to pull its audience and laughs, then it's writers should be ashamed. There is no creativity here. Just crass superficial rubbish.
Introspectum Motel (2021)
A compelling thriller
This is a highly engaging thriller with great character developments, compelling themes, and plenty of interesting plot twists. The characters are portrayed very well with introspective, brooding performances from a dynamic cast. The premise is fresh and leaves viewers intrigued to the finale. Highly recommend!
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Farcical
What a terrible film. The first two Thor films were competent enough, but this terrible film is nothing but farcical, from the elaborate and gaudy costumes and aesthetics, to the utterly appalling script. What an awful film.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Nonsense
Ridiculous nonsense from start to finish. Not sure why it is getting such good reviews. This is a terrible film.
The Babadook (2014)
Not good
Another movie about a creepy kid that attracts monsters. Only this time the kid is really annoying. Not a good film.
Prisoners (2013)
Slow and uninteresting
Not very original. But very slow. With such a good cast and an interesting premise to explore, this tepid thriller just about managed to engage your interest.
Loki (2021)
Awful
Farcical slapstick humour. I really can't comprehend why such nonsense is rated so highly. It isn't even eye candy, let alone brain fodder. Simply annoying and inane.
The Shining (1980)
Overrated
An the award for the most overrated director goes to...clear to see why King hated the movie so much.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
Overrated
One of those films with a great cast that tries to be clever and quirky but is actually just a boring film. I would have rather watched an actual Birdman movie, if such a thing existed.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Disappointing
So bad it's...bad. Proof that Snyder is massively overrated. Some decent visuals save an otherwise lukewarm script with some dodgy dialogue and special effects.
Line of Duty (2012)
Inconsistent
A great series until series 6 where it went downhill, ending in the most tepid finale in crime drama history.
Line of Duty: Episode #6.7 (2021)
Disappointing
A disappointing end to a disappointing series. Has none of the high stakes drama of the previous series. Flat. Tepid. Monotonous. Downright boring.
Lucifer (2016)
Overrated
Annoying and repetitive after just a couple of episodes. Would be nice to see a more multifaceted lead character but instead we get an annoying egoist full of quips and innuendos.
The Rider (2017)
Excruciating
Excruciatingly boring. If you like watching people ride on horses in a plotless movie, then this is for you. It's attempts to represent the under-represented seem tokenisation at best add add nothing to the story.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009)
Typical
Just what you expect from a Terry Gilliam movie. Incomprehensible garbage.
Black Mirror: White Christmas (2014)
Crap
No idea why people are rating this so highly. It was tedious at best. Was expecting more from an otherwise decent albeit overrated series.
Good Omens (2019)
Yawn
Massively disappointing. The main issue was the structure, or lack thereof, and lack of explaining characters other than on a superficial level. Episode 3 has a pointless, 30 minute prologue before the title sequence. No idea why. Michael Sheen goes from quaint to annoying very quickly. The whole thing comes across as farcical. The idea of angels and demons as modern incarnations is solid, until we are met with a laughably stereotypical Satan at the end. A sorely missed opportunity. It could have been great.
Split (2016)
Average
Shalayman had his peak with the 6th sense. Every film since has been average at best. This is no exception. It is better than some of his other disasters, but not great.
The Possession (2012)
Derivative
Not bad but just like every other possession movie out there
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Better than the theatrical cut
Could have been half the running time without the overuse of slow motion. And the use of dramatic sound effects (when a mop hits a floor) seems a little overcooked. Some cringeworthy one liners. And some dubious SFX. But the very fact that I am nitpicking suggests there's very little to criticise. Tonally, this is a perfect blend between the gritty and the fantastical. A vast improvement on the tepid theatrical release. Snyder has done fans proud in restoring our faith in the DC universe.
Mr. Robot (2015)
Great series ruined by the last 3 episodes
Great series ruined by the last 3 episodes. The plot took a bizarre turn for the worse, expanding the idea of multiple personalities that had already been overdone
The Battery (2012)
Annoying
Not sure which is more annoying, the guy who insists on wearing headphones during a zombie apocalypse, or his friend who is just a jerk. Unlikable characters and an implausible plot.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Awful
Pike's character isn't likeable in the slightest. There are a number of plot holes and mistakes. What a terrible film. It's rubbish like this which signals the death toll for Hollywood. Streaming platforms very rarely make decent content. It's generally just mindless and poorly executed fodder with a few A-listers to pull audiences. This is such a movie
