La nuit du 12 (2022)
Hamfisted message and poorly written character
So the movie paces well enough until the middle of the second act, where characters start being jerks for no real reason ( or at least reason which is properly shown and justified to the viewer) and insert a hamfisted message about all men being murderers.
Suspects just hide things from the police and act erratically to create mystery and suspence ( which is fine to a certain degree), when they realistically they would just do those things in a normal way.
Main characters act and say things just to create drama amongst themselves when realistically they would just mumble to themselves and carry on with their day.
The movie feels like it has no real purpose other than to tell you that bad things happen sometime, and it's kinda men's fault. ( I'd agree with the message told if there were a bit more substance to it)
There is little to examine with more depth than that, as a stone faced investigator chugs along an investigation with no real clues, and no resolution.
Mother! (2017)
Jumps off a cliff 2/3 in
The beginning is promising and intriguing, but it becomes obvious early on, and just drags from there without really adding much.
Incredibly self-indulgent towards the end.
A shame cause the start was promising.
Dune (2021)
Kinda boring
Visually great but didn't care about anyone or anything in the movie. No emotion here.
Vivo (2021)
Such annoying characters
This is competing for the worst-written characters with frozen 2.
They took the worst aspects of the Mitchells ( which fortunately has a lot more going for it) and made a main character out of them.
The trailer and the start of the movie are promising, only to develop into a subpar buddy travel adventure with meh songs.
Very underwhelming, was expecting more from the creators of spiderman and the Mitchells.
Animation quality and art are obviously top notch, though.

Clichèd, Predictable, HALF-ASSED - Usual (modern) Disney
Well, it seems Disney's focus has definitively crystallized on producing the most bland, soul-less, and trite titles, throwing away both their dignity as Industry-leading storytellers, and (far worse) the incredible talent that I know worked on this movie.
Obnoxious jokes, flat characters and exceptionally jumbled message can't be saved by pioneering Visuals and Animation, the only reason I could stand to watch this flick until the end.
But I guess Disney found out that you don't NEED to make a good movie for it to be profitable, just add jokes 12-year-old (and only them) will laugh at, some cute (and very merchandisable) characters, and just for kicks, try to inject a half-baked story and "moral" about trusting each other (or whatever), and you can sleep tight knowing the movie'll make bank.
Great job Disney, never change!
