Hillbilly Elegy (2020)

I don't understand the low ratings. I cried through this movie and couldn't help but think of my own, imperfect family and the life I've made for myself dispute it. Beautiful. I have not read the book but will and can't wait.
The Directive (2019)
Thoroughly Enjoyed
I do not think that this movie deserves all the bad reviews. I don't live in a desert eight stars but I did that to compensate for all the ridiculously low reviews this movie had gotten.this movie was obviously done on a very low budget. It was exciting to see some of the choices they made to do this at a very low cost.there were times the movie drug on and times it didn't need to. There were times when the acting was off. But the story was interesting and I love the ending.Honestly I couldn't stop watching it. The times when it lagged on I would just fast forward 10 or 20 seconds ahead. It was really hard to like the protagonist. And I wonder if that was intentional. And you have to wonder if his family left him behind on purpose. What we saw were indications character was morally low and lacked initiative.it makes you wonder what it was like for him in a family environment. Was he an addict that would not recover? Was he someone that stole from others? Was he someone that made living with him a very difficult to the point that they had to decide to cut him away? I really like this movie and hope this director makes another.I did like the actor too and would like to see him once he's had some more acting lessons. There were definite times that they were over-reaching on the acting, but that was easily overlooked.to me this seem like a low budget film done by someone who is passionate to make it regardless of the challenges! And that means a lot to me as a movie lover.
