Lucifer (2016)
Thank Netflix for saving this show & giving them a big budget and a better production, but also a credit for the writers
This is one of my favorite show of all time. I have been watching it since the first episode was released, and loved it ever since. The humor is so good, It's a 21st century humor. The only thing I hated about it was season 3, its filler episodes, I lost interest for a bit because they tried to make it long by doing those instead of focusing on the story, and the build up of the villain isnt threatening and was a joke because of the filler episodes, he lost his scary as a villain factor. Unlike the 1st season, the villain only appeared in 4th to the last episode and he was threatening already. I get it, I also wanted a long season but I wasn't expecting something like that. Season 2 only has few filler episodes or barely (I think) and it didn't ruined anything. S3 could've only had less than 20 episodes if it wasn't for the fillers. But S3 is still great for the character development.
Season 4 however, is 100x better than the last season. It's short but it's just right, more supernatural because of the budget, thanks to Netflix and even though it's short, it was beautifully crafted. And it got more attention than it got on Fox, and the show deserved that. I can't wait for the final season, it's sad because we may never have another show as good as this, comedy-drama, romance, supernatural, crime and it perfectly blends well on each other. Chemistry between characters is great. It's hilarious as it is. Interaction between the devil itself and humans, and makes you realize other things as well (at least for me, it did).
If you haven't watched the show, I fully recommend it. It's good as the ratings are. If it wasn't for the fillers in season 3, the ratings wouldn't have gone down but is still great, for the sake of the story. One of the greatest show that was ever created imo. 10/10
Marianne (2019)
The story's good and interesting and worth a watch
I'm not a critic and I'm just going to be honest by giving my opinion.
It's somewhat fast-paced, and it keeps you hooked every episode. It may be "cheap" jumpscares for other people but it still gets me and was still terrified.
I don't easily get scared, but there's something about this one that scares me.
There's no introduction, just focuses on what the story actually tells. It gets scary as the story unfolds.
Flashbacks episodes were definitely needed for this one, it didn't ate up the whole season and just gave you a little bit of it when it was needed. It was not forced and just gave everything what you actually wanted or what is needed for the story to unfold on how or why it started. It raised some few questions but I guess the answer were obvious ones or plot holes.
The horror vibe is uncommon, but it uses the "hollywood" jumpscare type of thing. But the story is interesting. The actors and actresses did a great job. It's creepy, eerie and definitely better than the Annabelle, Conjuring 2 & 3 and other horror movies as well.
I guess you can also say that this series has "butterfly effect". You'll understand it as the episode goes.
The ending was pretty questionable as it doesn't make any sense at all. It could've ended on that season but I guess they want to expand the story which I think is not a good idea. But overall, it's sad, creepy and eerie. Not top-of-the level horror film/series but it's a recent horror series that is pretty decent. We barely got a decent horror films or series nowadays. This is worth a watch. 8/10
Ghost Adventures (2004)
Scariest documentary that I have ever seen.
I have been watching their show for about 6 years now. This documentary before their tv show is the best and still scares me till today. Whether you are a skeptic or not, you will get scared sh*tless. Their reactions scared me too, like they are crying for help to get out of that place. I know even though you don't believe because you haven't been experienced something like this, even myself I don't. But, After watching this documentary, made me believe that they are real. After this documentary, they've been all over the news that saying they proved it. Remember, Science can't explain everything, We don't know what's the fact and the truth. We don't know anything why do they exists in the first place. This documentary is the most scariest documentary that I have watched, better than the true-story Horror Films today. Give this a shot, whether you are a believer or a non-believer. For me, It's entertaining, and it's scary as hell.
Requiem (2018)
Interesting but disappointing
I just saw this randomly, and I got interested as I thought it was good. Which actually, it was. But I got disappointed what they did at the last 2 episodes. I literally didn't understand what happened to the 2 main characters.
SPOILER:
Hal got almost killed and saved by those 'spirits' and suddenly he's feeding on lambs or sheeps ( I think )? Then those 'spirits' told him that Carys will be killed. Which it didn't but something happened to her that something woke up inside her and the other woman said, Archangel woke up inside her. Like what? I literally said 'what?' a many times on some episodes. It's supernatural horror but I got disappointed that it isn't, really. Someone uses them to kill someone they want to. So, Basically they summon to kill someone.
Review: Rest of episodes are interesting but kinda annoying because of the child who's missing 23 years ago and literally focuses from there and some clusterfuck is happening. I don't really recommend it but for it raised a lot of questions on that ending. What happens to her now? That's what I hate, Like it doesn't add up to the plot. It focuses on that child who's gone missing 23 years ago but that's that. Nothing adds up to the plot. I wish they add more so the show would be quite interesting. Now I don't know what will happen to the rest of the 5 seasons of this. Seriously, This could've ended in 1 season if they make it more interesting on that plot if they don't want to add something more. Acting is perfect. It's not boring ( for me ) but it's slow. It's 1 hr per episode so that's that. It's mysterious at first though, which I really like. The horror is there but the ending, meh. I don't think it's worth a watch but I think you should check it out and decide for yourself if you want to continue.
Bright (2017)
Movie is great, Ignore the critics and watch it yourselves.
I watched the trailer months ago, I was pumped by it because it seems so good. Then I just watched it minutes ago, and oh my. It was so good, I am embarrassed by the ratings yesterday, I was about to watch it and I saw it was 6.0 and I was like what? really? Why is it so low? It didn't stopped me from watching it because I have a feeling that it won't disappoint me, and I was right. It didn't. I thought this was a series, it would be actually cool if it was a series, because those orcs & elves + the pool ( you'll know it what I mean after watching the movie ) will have a proper introduction even it will have a slow progress until popping some action from the rest of the episodes. That could've been ending for the whole plot. ( This is just my opinion )
To be honest with you, This might sound maniac. I watched it because of Tikka ( Lucy Fry ) because she fits so well being Elf. ( LOL ) But, Will Smith is here too so I really have a good feeling that it will be good and it won't flop.
The real review;
The movie is great, It had some plotholes, I bet thats what critics are focused by those plotholes and don't like fantasy & it was directed from the director of Suicide Squad so I think that might be the reason too [(because the SS was a flop )]( AFAIK ). Acting is good, they played their roles really well, I just find some lines that are unnecessary cussing, I don't really watch fantasy ( If I only found it interesting and had some actors that went on good movies ). I'm not surprised that some people don't like it, we all have our different taste & opinions on watching movies. If you are unsure because it has a low rating & bad critic review, Just watch it. Don't listen to those guys because this movie really went well from I expected it to be. Hopefully, There's part 2 of this! I won't be able to wait. This is my one of the favorite movies of this year.
You will be confused by the plot, because it didn't introduced how the orcs and elves come to life, but I expected it because it was "fantasy". There are some characters that is poorly introduced too and background. But that's just the only bad thing that I see, Other than that, You should watch it! I really recommend it.
Dark (2017)
They say it is Stranger Things alike, But this one's more darker and quite interesting
I hate when people really say that "It's better than Stranger Things" blah, blah, blah. I really hate when they compare a 2 good shows even tho the concept is almost the same. If they are the same concept, Why this one is good too? Doesn't make any sense to me.
About the show;
If you watched the Stranger Things you will be familiar with the aura of the show and there are some scenes that are predictable ( at least for me, I noticed it. I don't know if you guys will. ), There is no comedy here obviously, but there is some lines that I find hilarious. These 2 shows are nowhere to be compared, because both are good even tho almost the same concept.
My review;
This show is good but it had some flaws, I didn't rate it perfect 10 because I was expecting something at the end which I got disappointed, but I guess history repeats itself, right? I'm guessing there will be another season, but I kinda hate it that it just repeated that for me it wasted my time watching it because I was expecting at least something will change at the end. This show could've ended in this 1st season but I guess they wanted to extend the story which is cool for me, You will be confused on few episodes, but you will be mind blown after revealing something. I am gladly to review this show because it is good, I know I sound contradicting on what I said but I didn't say anything bad about the show, I was just expecting something because it could've ended the whole plot on this season and I wasn't expecting any more of it. For me it was enough already. I recommend this show. I'll spoil you a little bit that there is no good ending or bad ending. This one has less action scenes, more drama but intense. 1-3 CGI scenes, if you want to know. This one got me questioned what if time travel exist? Don't you wanna change your past to fix the present? or it will just end worse because actions have consequences? You'll have to see for yourself.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
The movie is good, but not better than the first one.
The first one made so much attention because it is good, even tho not well advertised. This one I have high hopes that it will be good than the first one, but disappointed. It is still good, but not good as the 1st one.
SPOILER: Don't read this if you didn't watch the movie yet. Go to TL;DR part where I review this movie.
Channing Tatum didn't good any in the movie, like 'what?'. I was expecting to see him in action, but he was just like an extra in the movie. Just talking, then he got the virus and paralyzed for days. So, I'm guessing that Roxy didn't die cause she saw it coming, she had a time to run. Merlin, Im sure he's dead because in no way you can't survive in a land mine. Im embarrassed that he died in this movie because his character has much image that kept the movie so good. I like Harry came back but I was not expecting that he will act like that.
TL;DR The ending is okay, full of action scenes which I like but the CGI is too much which it is getting in the way on those fighting scenes. The first one has CGI action scenes but not as many on this second one. I still like this movie, Worth a watch. If you are hesitating because of getting a bad critic review. Don't listen, Just watch it and you can judge to yourself if it is good or not. For me, This movie is good, but I expect to be better than the first one which I am disappointed because it didn't. The movie deserves where it is right now and I hope, The 3rd one will be better than the first one & second one.
American Assassin (2017)
This movie needs a renew
The movie is good, but it doesn't have a support background that it'll help the characters. Too many sh*t happening here. O'Brien is so good here, but I've seen this type of movie, 'his wife or love ones dies and wants to seek revenge and find something that'll make them satisfy for themselves or keep finding bad guys until the director decides to stop for sequel after sequel'.
SPOILER>
The title is 'American Assassin' but in the movie, someone stole the plutonium and wants to kill himself w/ the nuclear weapon. That's it, and he was part of the 'training' an assassin where O'Brien was hired. Blah, blah, blah. Concept is good and the actors/actresses but the movie itself is generic. Like I said, I hope there'll be something like this but it'll catch peoples eyes, doesn't matter if it has a low budget, no CGI just pure acting and have a good plot, we're good. Problem is, no advertisements which so many good movies that are underrated. ( e.g, Jack Reacher, John Wick, you name it. ) and a movie where it so much advertised but it turned out so bad.
TL;DR Movie is not that good, not bad. But for me, It was worth my time. You decide for yourself, as we all have different taste on different things like this one. This one has pure action, less drama but too basic for me but I still liked it but not much as the others.
Geostorm (2017)
It is OK, far from good but it's not that bad
The movie is not that great, it's OK but not that bad. Quite predictable actually, but I decided to watch it along. The catastrophe on this movie is not the main course of the story but it showed what will happen if someone wants to do something else to it. Its focused on the people, about two brothers and someone who wants to own the "dutchboy" they call or a ship that controls the weather. This might be the future actually though, we can control the weather someday. But there's always someone wants to gain for themselves. The movie is very predictable even a first time movie watcher or this kind of genre can already see it. But the actors/actresses acting are good it's just the plot, this movie has a potential but the plot ruined it. I can't say what plot it could be but the movie nowadays are very cliché. Repeating the cycle, I want to see a movie that this kind of genre, but different. Something that'll catch peoples eyes or never seen before.
I wont say that this movie is worth a watch, but if you love this type of genre I guess you should give it a try. There's no harm on watching it or if you just wanna waste time watching movies, Why not watch this. Like I said, The movie is OK, far from being great but not that bad. The movie has potential but something is missing that it will be good.
Ghost Adventures (2008)
Love this show
This TV show is great, Even though I didn't experience any paranormal thing yet. This one will show you on how you would react if you encountered it. This show may have haters because ghosts "aren't real" but it is entertaining as it is today. This is a good marathon if you start from season 1 til' 15. It is really good, it has scariest times and unbelievable evidence they gathered from seeing orb of light, unexplained black mass, apparitions, poltergeist and all that stuff. I get chills whenever I see it. Based on watching it from documentary til now, they don't have many evidence lately, but still good and they're doing their best to gather evidence. Worth a watch if you like watching scary TV shows! I didn't rate it a perfect 10 because it had its times where their reaction is too absurd to believe and cringey. But other than that, this show is really good and still going strong!
Deadpool (2016)
Surprising and a good movie
Im actually quite surprised on how this movie goes well. BUT, THE ratings didn't do well on it's release, Like it had 6 - 6.9 rating more or less on the 1st week and so weeks go on. Then it became to 8 now. It's actually good though. I really recommend it. To be honest, Deadpool is playing as Ryan Reynolds. The character really fits perfectly for Reynolds, performance 10/10, acting 10/10, humor 10/10. I can't wait for another movie and I hope it's 2h30m long, The movie is really worth a penny.
Stranger Things (2016)
Stranger Things 2, Even better than the first one.
I certainly don't watch drama, thriller type of thing. But the first time I saw this show, I was like. Meh, Okay this has a good rating so I tried and give it a try to watch it, and oh man, I can't stand up on my chair and dare to pause it. The thing about this show is giving you the 80's vibe. In which case, I didn't have a chance to feel it and this show gave me what it is to be like in the 80's. Partying, playing in the outside rather than browsing on the internet all that playing games on the phone, computer all that. I was born in '98 and didn't have a chance what it's feel like. This show is so worth every penny. I just wish that it will be a long season but I doubt it since the storyline is focus on 1 thing and few things. I have a feeling that next season will be all about finding new psychic friends. But, I gotta tell you THIS SHOW IS GOOD AND DESERVE A PERFECT 10 RATING, 100% ROTTEN TOMATOES OR EVERY CRITIC REVIEW. You gotta watch it. Seriously, Just.watch.it.
If you think that the season 2 is bad because of eleven's show time it's because she is not the focus of the story. It's Will's. It's not like the show didn't gave a cliffhanger on the 1st season ending. He surely suffered enough and the season 3 is not about Will again. Also, It's not meant for everybody, whether you like it or not. We all have our own opinion, but giving the non-sense reason why you didn't like the show is st**id.
Atomic Blonde (2017)
A Jack Reacher-Like Movie
I really like this movie, but Jack Reacher was better. It was good enough for me to satisfy myself after watching it, Really recommend it. Every time I watch a good movie "goosebumps" always comes in and can already tell if it is a good movie. This one, it had but not that quite. I really like the story line, it was predictable plot since I watched Jack Reacher many times. Realistic fight scenes, Rarely find this in Movies, Of course I wont forget John Wick. But this one, Its like you've been through enough fight scenes that you are already tired in just a few actions fighting them but it was really like real. Im not good enough at reviewing a movie but I always review a movie that is good in my eyes. It was worth watching.
I like the ending, She was like Kate Beckinsfield for minutes, I really thought it was her. Other than that, You should watch it. One of the underrated or low-watched movies.
The Book of Henry (2017)
It's good and I don't watch this type of genre
I have been watching movies for 8 yrs or less now and didn't expect that it will happen to me.I like that Henry is a genius and a inventor plus that he thinks himself that he is a grown man even though he's just a 11 yr old kid and his Mom relies on him on every parent should do and Henry should have fun playing with his brother etc.
SPOILER ALERT:
I didn't expect to cry a f***ing lot even though I got spoiled, Seriously, I cried like a baby and i'm a grown man. I liked the characters so much and I really like the plot. The only bad thing is,it is too much focused on Henry ( the main character obv ) and I wasn't expecting that much action but I knew that there'll be an action but I just didn't expect that Henry ate the 1hr more or less of it but IT WAS WORTH IT ( to me ). I don't watch this type of genre a lot, but when I watched the trailer, it took my attention and been wanting to watch this since the trailer was released.
My conclusion, I really liked IT even though like I said I don't watch this type of genre ( drama ) a lot. Now, Go watch it and see for yourself, If it was too cliché for you- I think you will still like it, but we all have different opinion. For me it is a GOOD MOVIE and one of my favorites this whole year of 2017.
Van Helsing (2016)
First episodes are slow and bad, but it gets better as the story goes.
First time reviewer here, and if you are not yet sure to watch it or not. I better tell you, It is good as other series who has a high rating. The first few episodes are kinda-ish boring and slow, and leaves you hanging... This is worth watching, Sadly to say there's no wolves and stuff but it's still good with the vampires and such. The season 2 is near ( OCT. 5 ), So I think you guys should watch it.
SPOILER ALERT: ( IF you don't wanna get spoiled from here, don't read it, But it doesn't cover up the whole plot. But take note that I did warn you )
There are so many deaths in this season, like its a bit annoying and frustrating at the same time that you want that character to be developed, and someone just kills him/her for some nonsense reason. And, you'll hate some major characters or protagonist, I personally hate them but I don't know if you will.
That's all I should say, But if you asked me if I liked the show? DEFINITELY Yes. It's like 1st and 2nd season of walking dead and this is the 3rd season of it. You should watch it, then decide for yourself if you're gonna watch the 2nd season of it. I just saw the trailer and it's good from what I can say. Definitely can't wait for 2nd season.
SEASON 2 ( It's 7 episodes now and it's freaking better than the 1st season. ) I was pumped up because the ending of season 1 gave a big cliffhanger. From these 5 episodes that I watched, I would give a 8.5 rating on each of them. New side characters, more main characters more fun. EPISODE 6 Review: This episode is like a rushed episode, Too much stuff is happening. Same as the 7th. But I like where it is going and maybe i'll understand more about the main character's past and how military knew that the Vampires will reign the 'world' someday which happened. Another 1 thing though, Vanessa is kinda selfish on this season, which I like. I just want to see her eyes becomes orange-ish like in the poster. We really haven't seen her true abilities and it's just evolving every time passes by. I am also surprised that like plenty people just watch it, even tho SyFy has history of making a TV show that is bad, but this is surprisingly good. I just can't wait how this season ends!
