Dopesick (2021)
I'm so damn mad watching this!
This is perhaps the finest docudrama I've ever seen. I really didn't pay too much attention to this matter. Now I see the depths of depravity of Perdue Pharma's Sackler Family. I hope they all burn in hell. Thanks to all involved in this fine series.
Ratched (2020)
Remember Dorothy Michaels?
Remember the scene where she (Dustin Hoffman) spewed out a ridiculous concoction plot to end his role in "Southwest General?" Thats episode 7 of this mess of a story. Plenty of gore, short of sense. There's plenty of better stuff out there. Skip this.
Ad Astra (2019)
Zzzzzzzz
A snoozer. Monotone script and plot. Cool tech graphics but that's the only redeeming quality. Tommy Lee's in it for maybe ten minutes. Wait for cable. It won't be long.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
I also walked out ...
... but second half picked up. Does anyone know how to write a tight script? Omg this drags! 30 mins too long. Lots of fun cameos and superb recreation of 1967-1970 period though.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
Glad I saw this on cable ...
... so I could record it and speed through the second half. And I don't feel I missed a thing. Started out great, then nosedived big time. 4 stars for intriguing start and interesting concept.
Apollo 11 (2019)
America's last great moment.
What has happened to us? Can we ever achieve this unity and pride again? Especially if you weren't alive in 1969, go see this and see what this nation once was and hopefully can achieve again.
Cold Turkey (1971)
Totally underrated
Sheer genius! Timelessly funny script and the greatest character actors ever. Satire of 1970 American culture that still resonates today. One of my all time favorites.
Nixon by Nixon: In His Own Words (2014)
Blooper
On Nixon on Nixon documentary - A film clip of "Air Force One" from the Harrison Ford movie by the same name is shown - a 747 with its tail shot to hell. Needless to say that was not Nixon's AF1. Bad flub.
