Benden Ne Olur (2022)
Dissappointment
One of the worst Turkish rom-coms I've ever seen. It's like the movie doesn't have a story it wants to tell. The script is floating in space. Of course, the weakness of the script greatly affected the acting. The only good detail about the movie is Onur Tuna's deadly handsomeness.
Pera Palas'ta Gece Yarisi (2022)
Gets Better Towards the End of the Season
The first 3 episodes were a complete disappointment. Because of the interestingness of the story, I chose to continue and it managed to attract my attention from the 4th episode onwards. I'm glad I watched it to the end.
Could it be better? Definitely. Time travel stories are always interesting, but the script could have been stronger, there are ridiculous details that do not fit the reality of the period. !Spoilers! It was unacceptable under the conditions of the time that Esra, who replaced Peride, was obviously the daughter of a high society family, to perform in an entertainment venue. !Spoilers! I did not like Hazal Kaya's acting in this series, I think that if someone else had acted, could have carried the series to a higher level. Nonetheless I really liked the acting of Tansu Bicer and Selahattin Pasali. Pasali seems very suitable for period pieces, he has the charizma.
It seems like a conscious choice not to show Ataturk's face much, it's better that way.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to the second season. I hope it will be more logical and fluid than the first.
Frontline: Putin's Revenge (I) (2017)
American propaganda
This is a very cheap propaganda. I mean, Putin is not my father's son, and I don't like dictators at all. But the way docuseries put the events are so one sided. US government feeds the terorist organizations and support radical Islamists against communism. USA actions hurt millions of people. This country is no way innocent.
Yesilçam (2021)
Beautiful
I am already a fan of period pieces and I was expecting such work for a long time. The atmosphere of the period was successfully mirrored. Decor, costumes, makeup, etc. I found everything very harmonious. It's just that their accents were more modern; I'd like them to be treated more sensitively.
Other than that, I really enjoyed watching it. I've always been curious about Yesilcam's behind-the-scenes. For me, I would say that this series has filled a big gap. Not to mention being shot by a director like Cagan Irmak.
Kagittan Hayatlar (2021)
It wasn't too bad
Honestly, I was bored a little while watching. However, the end makes it good. The perspective I had changed completly after the ending.
9 Kere Leyla (2020)
Brilliant!
A movie enjoyed with mythological and philosophical references and cleverly placed details.
The film tries to answer the question of why men kill women.
Is it because she doesn't love him, because she loves him, because she loves someone else?
This is a story that goes back to the creation of man and woman, which is the beginning of everything.
what lilith (leyla) says; We were created from the same clay as Adam.
It is emphasized that masculinity is not a matter of gender but a matter of mentality, referring to patriarchy. Otherwise, there is no distinction between the human sex as masculinity and femininity, they were created equal. The fact that one of the men who came across Adam after he passed out is a 'man in wife', the sister of Khidr always shows us the indifference between male and female.
Ask 101 (2020)
Fun to watch
Better than other Netflix Turkey projects such as The Protector and The Gift. It was fun to watch.
Also, loved the soundtrack.
Atiye (2019)
Not worth to watch
Turns a great story to a trash. I don't understand how one can ruin such a treasure. The first season was not that bad though. However, despite I love the actors in general, the acting here was so bad.
Bir Baskadir (2020)
The best on Netflix so far!
You may surprise about the high rating, but I believe it deserves it.
This series was the most Turkish thing ever shown on TV (netflix). However, I am not sure non-Turkish people can get this.
I wouldn't expect from Netflix Turkey, such a good quality.
Halka (2019)
exellent!
This is better than Dark, and even better than Sahsiyet!
