A Prince for Christmas (2015 TV Movie)

Generally the 'Prince or Princess' is usually a pompous a** & scarily good-looking! Kirk Barker makes Prince Duncan a thoroughly likeable Prince! He isn't 'classically' handsome but Barker doesn't try to be!

I try to watch all of these Christmas movies & I have to say I always watch this one when it shows up on the streaming channels (which some have been showing Christmas movies all summer).

I also hadn't realized until a couple of months ago that the actress who plays Emma was Iliythia in the Spartacus series on Starz. I thought she looked familiar but..? That character was miles apart from the character she plays here.

Brittany Beery as Alice is charming. In the small part of Geoffrey, Mark Lindsay Chapman is also perfect.

I do wish they had made a sequel with the wedding, babies, etc.

Hellboy (2019)

This is an abomination, it's like a cartoon version of Hellboy but with a bunch of foul language & blood & guts.

"In 517 A. D., the evil Blood Queen, Vivienne Nimue, unleashes a plague on England until King Arthur thwarts her with the aid of Ganeida, a member of her coven. Arthur uses Excalibur to dismember Nimue and hides her remains across England. In present-day Tijuana, Mexico, paranormal investigator Hellboy accidentally kills missing agent Esteban Ruiz, who has been transformed into a vampire, during a wrestling match. After hearing Ruiz's dying words, prophesying that the end is coming, Hellboy is brought back to the B. P. R. D. in Colorado. He is assigned by B. P. R. D. leader Trevor Bruttenholm, his adoptive human father, to assist the Osiris Club in hunting three giants in Great Britain. The club's seer, Lady Hatton, reveals Bruttenholm was meant to kill Hellboy when he came into the human world as a result of the Nazis' Project Ragna Rok but instead raised him. Meanwhile, a pig-like fairy known as Gruagach is advised by the witch Baba Yaga to retrieve Nimue's limbs so that she may grant his wish for revenge against Hellboy."

Even my man Daniel Dae Kim (with a really bad British accent) can't save this mess!

The Real Star of This Episode...

The real star of this episode? Scully's boobs. I realize that Anderson had just given birth a few days before this episode was filmed but damn... Every time the cameras focused on her body, her bosoms looked like huge mountains (like 'The Breasts of Sheba in the second Librarian movie). It was almost like the writer's were purposely focusing on that aspect! Also, why wasn't Scully ever covered with a blanket when she was in ICU? Seems to me that keeping a patient warm would be a top priority.

Also, CSM escapes retribution again! The fact that he was still alive at the end of this series always pi**ed me off. If anyone deserved to be tortured & experimented on by the 'Aliens", it was CSM!

I love this series, especially the first few seasons.

Nice to see Tony Leung Chiu-wai

I resisted watching this as I'm not an MCU fan but finally watched it yesterday. I had a Disney + deal (2.99 a month), so I'm trying to watch some of the newer Disney movies & rewatch some old favorites.

It was nice seeing Tony Leung Chiu-wai & Michelle Yeoh. As usual, Awkwafina was hilarious.

The creatures were cool but there were too many fight scenes for me. Everything just moved way too fast, it made me dizzy trying to keep up with who was doing what.

Simu Liu was ok but his almost 'Valley Boy' way of speaking was a bit off-putting. Ben Kingsley's character was just weird, although he did make me chuckle a couple of times.

Overall, I give it a 6/10.

I love Jerry the character & I wish they hadn't wimped out with the resolution.

Also, the song 'Tiny Bubbles' didn't come out until 1966 so there is no way it would have been sung in the club scene.

WORST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER!

Just when I thought I had seen all of the really bad Christmas movies, this shows up! The kids are annoying, the adults are beyond stupid.

The father/security guard for the toy store gets locked in the office without a phone (his daughter took it & the keys). He tries a bunch of ways to get out, to no avail. He even straps a bunch of stuff to his body (like armor?) & tries to force his way through the door. The man is such a moron, all he had to do is take the door off the hinges?

When they put out the call for actors did they make it a requirement that they had to be the worst ones in Canada?

This movie is BAD! Avoid it at all cost!

Dumbest Christmas movie EVER!

So many others here have mentioned the worst things about this movie but didn't go into any depth about Tom getting stuck in a chimney that COULD HOLD THREE PEOPLE WITHOUT GETTING STUCK!!!! It's a silly thing but this is the dumbest part of the whole movie!

Not sure why this bugged me so much, but from the very first scenes her crooked false eyelashes annoyed me. Even more than her man-child slacker husband.

Christmas with a Prince (2018 TV Movie)

So bad

I watched this the other day & really tried to like at least something about it. Nope, even the children were annoying. The lead actors are abysmal, the sets are REALLY CHEAP looking. The supposed 'Chief of Medicine' was so unprofessional. The king (Charles Shaughnessy) was bad. The 'other' woman (Princess Miranda, ridiculous name) was just as ridiculous as her name. Also, what was with that DEAD ANIMAL around Tasha's neck at the ball? And unless you are royalty or under 10, you shouldn't wear a tiara!

As for the male lead, so miscast. At first I thought he was Rylan Clark-Neal, that guy from the UK (it was the blindingly white cheesy looking teeth).

All in all, this was at the very bottom of all Christmas movies I've seen through the years, even 'Santa Claus Conquers the Martians' is a better movie!

I read that there were two more movies starring the same leads? How?

Is Tim brain damaged?

I started to watch this because it was on but when I got to the scene where Piper & Tim were on the 'local' talk show I was really confused as to why Tim was staring off into space like he wasn't aware of where he was? This was the second Christmas movie that had Madeline Leon as one of the primary characters (the other was 'A Christmas Recipe for Romance') & she was pitiful in that too!

I realize that they pump these these Christmas movies out on a budget but...? Please, DO BETTER!

All American Trash Christmas Carol

Who thought that it was a good idea to make this trash? I will admit that I love the classic movie adaptations. I don't like the cartoons, the musicals, etc. BUT I would rather watch them on a continuous loop than watch this rubbish! All involved should be thoroughly ashamed for their participation! If I could give it minus stars I would!

White Nights (1985)

Love this movie.

Caught this on one of those obscure streaming channels last night. I hadn't seen it in a long time. The chemistry between Hines & Baryshnikov is wonderful & Rossellini just glows. I wasn't a big fan of the music (even back then) but the dancing is superb. Hines & Baryshnikov were at the top of their game (IMHO). There is some suspense towards the end but in typical Hollywood fashion, 'all's well that ends well'.

I have been privileged to see both of them dance in-person & will never forget it.

A Nanny for Christmas (2010 TV Movie)

What was up with Vaugier's hair? It looks fine in one scene then it looks like someone plopped a straw wig on her head. Not enough money for the hair & makeup department to even buy a comb or brush?

It was 'refreshing' to see that the children weren't holy terrors, very unusual for this type of movie.

This was fun to watch, reminded me of 'The Mummy' (1999). But I just couldn't get past the male star (Matt Barr). It seemed like he was totally out of his depth.

A Christmas Princess (2019 TV Movie)

Watch 'Miracle On 34th Street' instead

This is another example of a 'Christmas' movie that has NO likable characters (which seems to be the norm the last few years)! The main character (Jessica) is just a b'*tch through most of the film. Case in point, when the 'Prince' offers her a LARGER KITCHEN which would be more appropriate for catering a large gathering she insists that it has to be all done in her pokey little place in Brooklyn! Even the ending didn't really change anything. Skip this one & watch 'Miracle On 34th Street'!

Sorry, I forgot to mention the 'food'. It looks like the food offered at the 'Old Country Buffet'! If I was one of the donors paying $1,000 a plate, I would ask for my money back!

Rent-an-Elf (2018 TV Movie)

A Christmas movie that actually had a likeable character.

I tend to binge Christmas movies starting around the end of November. So through the years I've seen quite a few. But around 90% of the 'TV' movies have no likeable characters, bratty, whiny, or overly sweet children, a**hole boyfriends, clueless parents, etc. But this one has one or two. Ava (The Christmas Elf) & sometimes her two helpers. I generally do not like characters that are cheery all of the time but Ava was a bit different. Not a bad Christmas movie.

Is this not the 21st century? As for the movie as a whole, there really wasn't one likeable character (well maybe the leads sister & her future husband). The lead character (Ali) was unlikeable throughout the movie, the others were just boring. Why do TPTB continue to make this c*ap?
