Visually very impressive. Story and writing - not so much.
I've watched this film in its 3D version, the first 3D experience for me, and it was pretty amazing, especially scenes with large and deep spaces and the scenes with the small slowly flying spirits.
I'm looking forward to see more movies with this technology, although it does have one downside - the brightness is very reduced and the colors are less "alive" in 3D, because the glasses filter some of the light to create the 3D effect (different picture in each eye).
If you go to see it, try removing the glasses occasionally, you'll see what I'm talking about.
As for the story - a very typical good vs. evil story, with the typical characters and their "development".
The predictability in this movie is quite annoying in my opinion and very disappointing. In terms of the large story - you can immediately guess how the story will unfold, and even in each scene - you can easily image the whole scene after a few seconds including exactly how the characters will react and what they will say in general.
Despite the story flaws, the movie keeps a high pace and is still interesting to watch, I enjoyed the whole 3 hours (I wouldn't make this movie shorter).
I definitely recommend anyone to see this movie, mainly for the visuals. The story doesn't add much to the movie but doesn't hurt it either.
Overall - 7/10.

Horrible. I almost feel sorry for the people involved in this movie...
What the hell was I thinking going to a movie like this? I had all the warning signs...
I can't think of anything that went right in this movie - acting, directing, soundtrack, story, editing, photography, you just name it.
To spare you and me the time, I'll just summarize all of the above in one word: GARBAGE!!!!! I started to feel sorry for these would-be actors, because I thought after a movie like this they would never get a job acting, but on second thought: half of them weren't actors to begin with, and the other half will probably find work in soap operas and other inferior TV genres.
In conclusion - don't waste your money on this "thing".
